Ok, must have missed that info..

But does it matter?

I mean, I understand that I need a GTP_-PSN-Account to actually put "GTP_" in front of my "original" PSN.. But why does it matter for the replay? I might missing out on somethine here..

The replays must be generated on the account submitted for entry into the registry.

We don't allow for 3rd party accounts to be used to prevent cases where someone runs the trial (or event) on behalf of a friend.

Because it would be much easier to just provide a replay from a friend or one you've downloaded, and claim that its from your original PSNA.

BTW, read through this thread to find out how to quickly level up your new account so you can run the qualifier. Don't be alarmed, it shouldn't take any more than half an hour.

Good luck and I hope you manage to better you original times.(I'm sure you will)

It matters because it's a rule. The whole system is run on very strict terms, and running all trials on your GTP tag is one of those rules.

I was hesitant at first about the GTP tag thing... I didn't agree with it at all. Now I understand that it keeps out a good deal of classless degenerates.

Aha, ok..

Need to call my friend again, so he can come back here to do it again on my new GTP_account :D

Just kidding, I get it! 👍

A quick question - How do I improve my laptimes ? I'm doing the out-in-out, slow-in-fast-out, hit-late-apex routine but my lap times are just not improving. Is it just a matter of more practice or is there something I might be doing wrong ?

My settings are - AT, ABS-1, Driving Line-ON. Everything else - OFF.

Oh, I tried driving with MT but I'm at least 0.5s behind my AT time. (I feel like I have more control with MT though. I almost never crash with MT.)

(In case you haven't figured out already, I'm a noob to both WRS and GT itself.)

Just did my second effort for sector 3 and I actually surpassed my several tenth goal and ended up being 8 tenths quicker! I'm pretty stoked about that run and though I'll probably do a short stint on Thursday I'm not sure I'll be able to improve.

Now sector 2 on the other hand... we'll leave that one for tomorrow.

I found it tough to switch to MT as well. You really just have to give it a few good hours,Maybe try an easy track like high sped ring and just really get the feel of it.
Im finding sector 3 challenging on this.

Line is part of the equation. Beyond that, car control, maintaining traction, and maximizing cornering speed and time with Wide Open Throttle will help you improve.

I strongly recommend going with manual transmission. Even if you are slower at first, it's the right thing for the longer haul.

By using the driving line, you are most likely using the braking points it provides. These are normally conservative, and will cost you more time. If you find you can't drive without using the line, then at least work to find out where you can push a little bit more on braking points (brake later) and pick up time. Also find the sections that you might be lifting slightly, but could go with wide open throttle if you properly control the car and hit your marks.

It will be easier for you to find improvement in weekly races, when you'll have your ghost to chase, and split times to understand where you are losing time. For the purpose of the qualifier, this should give a really good indication of your current ability level.

Hope that helps.

Good evening.

Just tried being more aggressive with my runs, hitting and using the kerbs in a decisive manner. Didn't gain that much time...
Running smooth and clean works for me.

cheers

Vice please tell me where you got that wheel for your G25!!! Did you wire the buttons up to it?

Thanks! I've always driven full MT in real life, so switching to MT wasn't hard. It's just that I'm about 0.5s slower with MT. MT somehow 'feels' better though. Wonder if MT actually made you faster. And BTW, I'm finding sector 2 harder.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Will try what you said. :)

Just a quick question when the league is up and running will the races be organised to cater to different time zones? Cheers

The WRS is mainly in time Trial Format.

We also have run different race events over time, that have paired up racers from around the world, based on divisional alignment.

As our events evolve on GT5, region of the world could certainly be a consideration. At this time, nothing specific and formal has been planned in that regard.

This same thing happend to me, but on sector 2. Don't know if just giving the track a break lets you see everything better the second time, but its pretty exciting when it happens.

However, sector 3 still aludes me. There are just a few corners I can't get quite right.

I know exactly how you feel!
My total time is just .2xx from a psychological limit :ouch:, surely Between sector 2 and 3 I'm able to find .2 :grumpy:

I almost feel like I need it if i want to qualify into the Division I want as well. Guess I just have to man up and try one more time!:dunce:

Bah.. Never regained the motivation to try again...

Submitting 👍

Feel like I will just miss out on my Division goal too :ouch:

But, I guess extra motivation to race and get promoted 👍.

I'm also new to GT - one thing that's helped me is to turn off the driving line. It's useful at first, and I run the course a few times with it on so I really know the track. Then try doing it again with the line turned off. You might mess up when you first turn it off - but once you get a good run in, I find I do a lot better - I tend to be much more cautious when its on.

I cant even get the gold trophy on the sectors yet.
I dont want to submit until i can get that because I know i can do it.

You'll have to settle for D1 silver then?

Submitted 👍

I will have to learn to stop pushing the limits so much in the first few corners, because I rarely got to see the finish line. I don't mind continuing a lap despite missing an apex, but when I lose control I immediately restart. And that happens to me a lot.

Good luck to everyone. :nervous:

I couldn't wait on sector 2 I went ahead and ran my second stint on it this afternoon and I did the same thing I did with sector 3 earlier in the day. Beat my several tenth goal and ended up being 8 tenths quicker.

I think I can get .2 more out of the total event but I think it would all have to come from sector 2 and not from sector 3. Alas I'll give it a short stint tomorrow and see what happens.

Yeah I was restarting alot.
Im not submitting until I perfect a lap.
This is what GT5 is all about,Trying to get that time you just know is your best effort.

Submitted to Vaxen. Both Sector 2 and 3 were driving me insane looking for tenths. I like Sector 1 best now. :D

Good luck to all and see you in the WRS! 👍

Submitted, put in the usual effort that I would for WRS so we'll see where that puts me. Very hard qualifier I found though, so hard to nail the whole sector.

Good luck all 👍

Snaps of the corner that had me worrying about whether it was clean, it turned out it was all good.

Submitted, happy with my times so looking forward to see where I'm positioned. Thanks again to the WRS mods for promptly putting the qualifier together.

Good luck to all participants.

Just put my time in too :nervous:
Just looking forward to the first event.
Good luck and cheers all.
