do i change psn from gran turismo 5 prologue or gt planet???...and how do i change my psn from gt planet...
thanks

Well I thought I was fast when I posted a time that got listed well inside the top 100 but now that everyone is on this qualifier I've dropped way outside the top 100!!

I figure there is no need to struggle to get a killer time if I can't do it consistently.
I'm just going to practice a bit more & if I don't significantly improve just go with the time I got instead of relying on a freak lap that puts me in too fast a group.

Were you the one who used automatic gearbox?

If that was you, you were the fastest automatic driver around suzuka in the f430 in the world.👍

Regarding the "Official GTP_Registry Qualifier"

IMO, GTP might consider adding a provision along the line of how GTP will reserve all rights to disqualify any party with or without explanation, a provision to handle any disputes between participants, and a clause to discourage people from "sand bagging" during qualifier.

ok, stupid question:
Is the gtp code of conduct for online racing written down somewhere?
I did a bit searching on the site but couldn't find anything.

Quick question about that small competition. Why the F430? It's a good car, but I drive more of MID range sports cars then super cars. Guys like me might be good race worthy for slower cars but not super cars (all pro-Physics tho) I was prating with this car today, and seems it's going to take me a while to get a nice time.

*back to practice*

Yes i have never seen a code of conduct anywhere.
Ok thanks I was just wondering, the "Terms & Conditions of Registration" are quite unspecific. They just say "By registering you agree to abide to all race rules & driving standards laid out by the hosts of all GTP approved race events" I have no idea what that means precisely.
Well, maybe I am being a bit over precise or "nit-picky" anyways thanks concept.

You know, re-reading the Terms and Conditions I noticed rule number 7:

7) Most importantly, you are expected to have fun.

Um, does that mean that anyone complaining about the qualifier should be disqualified?

Scaff, I think that you should use this as grounds to warn anyone that makes a big fuss about your decisions regarding cars and tracks. I mean, it is in the rules.

There are no official rules or guidelines at the moment, but there will be once things warm up and become more competitive. There was an attempt to establish a set rules for all GT boards to use and follow, but at the moment this seems to be dead in the water. I expect it to come back to life when GT5 is here. However, I believe we have done a fantastic job of governing ourselves in the past months and is a testament of our desire for clean and respectable driving. 👍👍

There are a number of informative threads that cover this area if anyone wants more information. I'll try and find the time to post the links later.

Must rush, I have a weekly race to organise and posting the results for last weeks WRS. 👍

I am having major trouble in regards to registering a new online tag. Basically I have registered the new PSN account with network ID, but when I log on and use it, start GT5P it is a fresh new game. No online option or anything.

What have I done wrong?

No online option? Thats odd, but to retrieve your cars and money, you need to copy your save game to the new account on the PS3. Not sure if you can still do this though since the Trophies update on the PS3.

Which version of the game are you using? Disc or download?

And make sure you are signed-in on the PSN, not just logged in on that account on your PS3.

Dont worry mods this isnt a thread about lap times, just need to clear some things up and get peoples views.

From what I take from this qualifer, is that GTP members will be split up into different groups depending on their lap times on one track. I have a couple of views on this that may affect future races / events.

1. From doing these lap times and putting us in these groups, is already limiting the number of races we can have with members. I get the impression that you only race with the people in your 'skill group' and nobody else. I enjoy racing with faster and slower racers. Faster as you learn more about lines, braking points, overtaking spots. Slower as it is fun to overtake and also to give them help etc.

2. Big egos and GTP division. From these times there is going to be 'I am better than you' type threads, people thinking they are better than others etc.

3. I thought the GTP tag was about clean racing and not whos fastest. Why kick people out if they dont submit a time?

4. I know members off here who hate / arent very good at time trails. Infact they dont like the races on this new update and hate doing time trails they have stopped playing GT until the next update. Some didnt even bother trying with the GT Acadmey as they hated time trails.

5. Say we are put into these groups. I am put in with people not in my time zone, arent very active members, then I will suffer as my racing wont be as active as it is linking with the chat.

Yes I can see the positives about the closer racing, but to me the negatives outway the positives by far to much...

What does everyone else think?

Hehehe! Thanks for all the feedback on my sector times. 👍 Things have been getting a little too serious around here lately, so I thought a short comedy break would help a little! I'm Glad it made a few of you smile!

I'm really looking forward to this competition, but I think the grief Sphinx is getting over the small details is ridiculous. Some people need to loosen up their bum holes a little, and let the guy get on with the job.

keep up the good work Sphinx!

There has been a WRS with 3 divisions for the past 5+ years and I have never seen an "I am better than you thread" yet :dopey: that is just nonsense and anyone who had the cheek to start such a thread would be flamed until the far side of 2010 👎

That could be a problem for me sometimes. I bought my ps3 together with my sister, therefore the ps3 is situated at my parents house. I'm often there in the weekends or in the holidays, but during the workingweek I'm on university campus which is 150 km away. So... say that I got a request on monday, the first moment I can reply is on Friday evening. :nervous:

Yea that was me with the automatic. :guilty:

I really should start using the manual box one of these days!

It groups you for official GTP organized events, but if outside of that you want to race with others then you can. This is by no means binding you on when you can and cannot race with your GTP tag.

Maybe, but that would not be in the spirit of the game, which is a rule and anyone doing that would likely lose their official status.

3. I thought the GTP tag was about clean racing and not whos fastest. Why kick people out if they dont submit a time?
Because the organized registry was mainly for being able to organize races and events. Said so in the sign up page.

Outside of those said events it is still just about clean racing and fun.

There isn't really a better way to do it right now though, is there?

As our regions are noted I think that has been taken into consideration.

I think that if we were not allowed to use our GTP tag outside of official organized events you would have a solid complaint, but these divisions and whatnot are only for the official organized GTP events. Who you race outside of that is completely up to you.

I doubt that these official organized events will be so often that they prevent me from enjoying the game itself.

Another thing to remember is that this will also be used for racing other groups out there (think private rooms) and setting up divisions will help us determine who the best for those competitions could be to represent GTP. I mean, if it is an 8v8 race you can't just allow every GTP member to jump in first come, first serve. It has to be organized.

Just save you replay on a usb whenever you made a laptime and bring it to the campus with you. If Sphinx requests a replay you'll always have it on hand that way ;)

Ok thanks the the reply FoolKiller. I didnt know this was just for events, I made it out to be "these are the only people you will race with".

Also these talks about private rooms coming in fall? Is this offcial? I havent read / watch anything where we have been promised private rooms. Ive just heard a PD worker say they are working on it.

Couple of points from here:
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=130180

Eurogamer: So is this a case of basically building the final game, block by block, as you go along?

Kazunori Yamauchi: We're not exactly making it in blocks... But we did have a few more things left undone in GT5 Prologue that we'll be adding along the way. Those would be community features - friends lists and things like that - and also adding damage to the game.

***skip a bit***

Eurogamer: The online play modes you've provided in Prologue are pretty simple compared to what other racing games do - is improving that a big focus for you?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Yes, there'll be a lot of features added to that. We'll be adding a lot of the necessities, like being able to form your own car clubs within the game, or making racing teams in the game. Things like that, where the users can actually interface with each other, are something that we'll be adding.
