TOO EASY!!!! Holy Moly!!! Go ahead and demote me to Div 5 pronto. That qualifer could only be deemed easy if you are an expert at driving the F430 on Suzuka which basically means you are an expert driver in general. I hope to never see the F430 in an event again. :)

What's scary for me is that I see some guys in my Div that were mentioned in the "fastest driver" thread numerous times. How the heck did that happen?
... i'm sure Sphinx has a method to his 'madness' .. i'm in D1G and for sure my race speed {current anyway} isn't that good to be among the very top .. thus, there's more to be revealed regarding the driver mix within the divisions.
The F430 gets some getting used to, especially if youve been racing in another car on R2 or R3's for a long time .. i set myself a 'target time' in the F430 and quickly went back to my normal racing after i'd reached it .. as for another harder qualifier ..:scared::ill::indiff: .. but it doesn't really worry me ... its all part of racing 👍

I dunno, I'm pretty sure it's as straight forward as Div1 being fastest and Div5 being the less quick of the times. I'm right where my time suggests I should be if that were the case.

I must pretty lame considering I'm not even on any category :| and I do have send my lap time as required by Sphinx on september 1 2008 @ 2.07 est
still as it in my mail box to prove it :P

Hey guys, I got busy right at the start of summer and been here there and everywhere. Haven't turned a wheel in GT or followed it at all, I am also kinda on the run now but I will ask a question even though I figure its been covered already...sorry.

I missed the first set of qualifiers, when the next one reopens (if there is) in a couple weeks do I only have to check the specifications for the race and run my time and send it in to Sphinx? This will allow me to race with you all in private rooms later in the year?

Probably won't be able to warm up as I don't see myself playing for another 2 weeks atelast, but will see how it goes when it goes.

thanks.

Same here,

but send Spinx a PM and got a message back. But the promised action still is in the pipeline I think :nervous:

That's because he's having to calculate the numbers to see how many more divisions he has to add! :)

I'm working on it now. I will pm all those who need to submit a replay for verification.

I can imagine Sphinx is pretty busy since he is now watching 50 replays that take over 2 minutes each (and I'd be surprised if he only watches them once). If he has the time, I'd find it interesting if he posts a few comments about his favorite moments from watching the replays. I'm guessing there were some very interesting lines taken by certain drivers to achieve a good time.

As Div5 Gold #4 submitter I was asked for a replay tonight at 09.33. I had it prepared and sitting in my laptop so by 10.02 I supplied Jerry with the compressed PS3 folder.I wish him luck and strength in checking all replays

+1, my own personal favourite from my replay is the long drift I do out of spoon curve :D However, I can understand if Sphinx doesn't have the time to list his favourite bits of 50 replays!

I think that would be violating his own rule about discussing anything that could help other drivers achieve a better time.

Hi,

Don't know why, but I can't find the original post for this anymore. Just started GT5P about a week ago as the registration was about to close.

I only glanced at it since I wanted to get through S class, etc. before working on the registration submission. Now I believe the registration is supposed to be re-opening today... I want to be sure I know what I'm supposed to be doing.

As I recall, it was F40 on Suzuka in Arcade mode (with N1 tires?), --first lap time (clean only, save replay, etc.). Is that right?

Could someone please point me to the original post.

Thanks.

The registration, combined with the qualifier will be up again as soon as I've published our first event. Hopefully tonight, but I can't guarantee it.

No.

Registration is closed at the minute, so the qualification race is also closed at the minute. It will be back later.

EDIT: Tree'd by Sphinx.

As said by Sphinx and Daan the regestry and qualifier are closed at the moment, but I think this is the thread you were looking for:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=109702

The thread is closed aswell though and all info has been removed, so I don't think you'll need it anymore.

Thanks Racer_LP,

I guess I had the right thread but assumed I was wrong since I couldn't find the qualifier info... apparently what I could have simply jotted down a week ago is now a secret!?

I just wanted to practice a little today, --that's all. I've been trying to 'reverse engineer' the qualification from this thread but it's a bit confusing. I gather there were some changes on the class of tires at some point.

I wonder how it will work for future qualification changes... will the previous registrants be exempt from re-qualifying?

For now, I'll have to take my best guess and put in some practice laps. :indiff:

It was taken down because it came to the end and to prevent any other submissions being sent to me via PM whilst I was dealing with those who submitted on time. Nothing secret about it. Wait for it to posted again and you can give it a go.

... and today at 3 pm he already checked it (and 7 others) and flagged green. This man is an alien, a hard worker and a true friend to GTP 👍
Only thing I would like to know is where he finds the time to do all this and have a life ... oh wait, maybe that's the answer

I'm a DS3 user to but I dont get how you wheel users go so fast with all those shifting and pedals to worry about, everything I use have my fingers already on them.

Speaking from what little time I've had with the wheel(about 8 laps to be exact), I think its due mainly to the fact that they are able to drive more smoothly. I would think there's abit more control with the wheel then with the DS3 or Sixaxis. But I think the more experienced can explain it better then me.

logitech force feedback wheels give you absolute, precise control. They feel so realistic that sometimes on a free run it's easy to forget that your not actually in a real car. I've had mine since Christmas 2001 and I've just ordered the g25. since i bought my wheel i haven't used a controller for any driving game at all. The overall experience is so much better that even if your not as good with the wheel as you are with a controller i think you'd still enjoy the game more.
