Final splits for me tonight..

T1: 15.392
T2: 34.840

Lost a little in the last sector compared to my very best...

Awesome turn out for week 1 👍

A lot of solid times being laid down!!

Hmm. I improved slightly - surprising.

T1: 15.565
T2: 35.285

Here's my setup if anyone wants to try it:

Thanks for the setup VB (💡...BEER). Worked a treat. 👍

I could actually Drift around these bends now. :sly:

Anyway, new splits are:

T1: 15.568
T2: 35.135

So let me see if I understood right.

*Buy Camaro Z/28 in the Premium dealership.
*Go to GT Auto, Oil change it and add the front spoiler, A or B are the same thing. Paint and change rims at will. TO YELLOW IT MUST BE YELLOW

Maz, I seriously hope the rims are optional. If not, then I'm 🤬 :dopey:

EDIT: 🤬 double post :banghead:

This is doing my bloody head in, Im close to like 100km driven now (wish i didn't know this lol) but im struggling to even manage to get complete laps in :(

after all this time i've only managed to shave a measly .300 off my best time. Tried multiple setups and can't seem to get the hang of it.

oh well will give it a few more days but most likely going to come fairly low in this one overall :(

T1: 15.677
T2: 35.863

First laps based on Paulie's tune - of which I am not sure it fits my (lack of) driving style - result in

16.110
36.464

Lacking the 'save best lap' feature from Prologue means you have to watch the replay of the whole session to destillate your fastest splits. Is that correct? If so, it also means quite a burden to the replay checkers. You will even have to mark in which lap your fastest lap will occur. Is this correct? :dopey:

After finding out that it wasn't smart to try some laps on other tracks to better understand the car, as that rose my HP to 296 so I had to get another Camaro and set it up, I managed to squeeze out a little less than a tenth. Still a lot to improve though...

T1: 15.817
T2: 35.602

First runs where I only messed with the LSD.

T1: 15.772
T2: 35.457

I'm guessing a little bit of suspension tuning will help me, because right now I can't seem to gain any more time.

I'm spending more time messing about with the car tune in a hopeless attempt to make it more driveable for me than I am doing laps at the moment. I have my fingers crossed that in the future we'll have the opportunity to run stock cars, I'm no good at tuning, and after another hour in that Z28 I'm feeling like i'm no good at driving either :(

No improvement on last nights splits 👎

Which tune by Paulie are you using? This one https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=4369006? If so, take care that it is based on a much higher performance than we are using for this combo. :)

Smallfyz's tune (posted a few pages back) is more than capable of running very competitive times... my advice would be to stick with one tune and work on your driving as constantly fiddling with the tune when you're not sure what you're doing will only lead to disappointment in my experience.

This seems like good advice, at least I'll know any improvements (if indeed I manage to make any improvements) are down to a better approach to the track and car and not due to tweaking. I found the qualifier a hell of a lot more approachable than this combo, I think i've discovered a(nother) weak point in my driving :)

Final attempt for the day:

T1: 15.457
T2: 35.383

Lost over 2 tenths compared to my best previous splits between T1 and T2, but did a nice T3. So, will keep working on it to get T2 under 35

Thanks to VagabondAngel for the set-up!
T1: 15.589
T2: 35.171

Slowly getting better.

Seems my car also lost It's brought items.
I was practicing last night & tweeking my settings, Then today went for a blast & regulation weren't met.
I went to change my tyres & they wasn't there neither was my suspension ect.

PLEASE MOVE IF THIS SHOULD OF BEEN POSTED IN THE GENERAL DISCUSSION SECTION.

This is a more difficult challenge than the qualifier in that it requires very precise throttle control.... though the track is much easier and the speeds are much lower.

Here are a few tips...

Try to avoid sliding the car on corner exits... you'll lose time.

The easiest way to stop the car sliding is to minimise your steering angle... ie; don't push the front of the car too hard mid corner. If you can avoid mid corner understeer you'll be able to reduce the amount of steering lock and this will allow you to apply more power and get a faster exit.

You need to teach your right foot to be able to apply 95-99% of full throttle... more often than not, you'll get away with 95% throttle on corner exits when 100% will see you spinning like a top.

Since none of the tunes posted here seemed to work for me, I decided to try out some things myself. Strangly enough things worked out pretty well, and managed to knock off .3 of my best time so far :odd:

Max Speed: 124mph (VagabondAngel's tune)

Drivetrain: (front/rear)
Initial Torque: -/05
Acceleration: -/25
Deceleration: -/05

Suspension: (front/rear)
Ride Height: -25/-25
Spring Rates (kgf/mm): 7.6/5.5
Dampers Extension: 4/4
Dampers Compression: 4/4
Anti-Roll Bars: 2/2
Camber: 2.0/1.6 (VagabondAngel's tune)
Toe: -0.10/-0.20

Brake Balance (front/rear): 4/8

New splits:

15.480
34.996

Thanks for the advice Stotty, I know i'm pushing through the middle of the corners too much, and probably carrying a bit too much speed into the corners in the first place, I need to calm down a bit!

I have a small question about viewing replays. I had no problem with this during GT5P's WRS events. But I saved the ghost replay from my hot lap session. Then I went to replay viewer to view the sector times. And every time I view a new time, it shows that I am on lap 4 with best time that isn't what my hot lap is suppose to be. I don't think I did anything wrong, but I am wondering if this is a sign of where my game might be getting corrupted. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you're watching your best lap replay the time shown as 'best lap' will be your previous best lap... the time won't update until you finish the end of the lap.

A few laps of using Small_Fryz's tune and I've managed to get down to

T1 15.601
T2 35.092

Still really struggling in the final sector though, what kind of speed are you guys able to hold in the final turn, as I just seem to wash out wide when trying to carry any more than 70mph :(

Oh just to make sure, so after you finish viewing the previous best lap. Then when the replay starts going again, it should have the sector times come up? Thanks Stotty for getting back to me so quickly :)
