Noob question!

How do I calculate the T1 and T2 measures? I'm unsure what this refers to exactly.

[EDIT] And also, does lowering the car as much as possible count as using the 'ride height bug'? Sorry to ask about this, but I'm unsure and don't want to cheat by accident.

The T1 is the time to the first split so that's no problem. T2 is T1 + the split time between the first and second split. E.G if your first split in the live timing panel is 15.5 and the second 19.5 your T2 will be 15.5+19.5=35.0

To be on the safe side just use the time calculation tool that was used in the qualifier thread. It can be found here http://tinyurl.com/6hskcar

To lower both front and rear to the lowest setting is not a problem and does not conflict with the ride height bug prohibition.

Does anyone have some good advice on how to tame this beast through the corners. Every Time I give her gas coming out of the corners, I end up sliding sideways and straight into the :banghead:

Try softening up the L.S.D (lowering the values) until you start to spin the inside wheel , this will give you much greater stability when getting on the power . You will loose a little drive but the car can be driven much more aggressively.

Put in ten or so laps. The car's a beast, but the handling does improve once the tyres warm up. Here's my times, which I'm pretty sure I can improve (there was a fair bit of sideways action involved)

T1: 15.888
T2: 35.975

Loving this combo! Using Vagabond's tune with a few tweaks, pulled off some beastly slides through the last turn :) My T1 times aren`t too shabby, but there is plenty of room for improvement in T2 and T3. So, after half an hour...

T1:16.285
T2:36.955
T1:16.324
T2:36.643

Ok, I'm a lil new I guess you could say since I haven't been around this site in such as long time. Could someone define "combo" for me please and why are you all spelling "tires" as "tyres"? I have to ask. I know I'm missing the joke there somewhere or at least I hope I am.

Doc

Combo= Combination of car and track

Tyre= British and Australian spelling of tire.

Sheesh, talk about a baptism of fire, American muscle on comfort tyres!
Frustrating, but fun at the same time.
My first splits:

15.396
34.842

Well, that was an eye opener...

Took me about 30 minutes to actually put down a clean lap, and then I couldn't work out why my T2 times were so poor when my T1 times were in the ball park of others on here. Then I realised that it was 35.XX seconds that most people were getting and not 32.XX seconds as I first read it as... :dunce:

Towards the end of my 1 hour session I was just about starting to lay down some consistent lap times, but still feel that I have loads of room for improvement.

Not a major American Muscle fan but this is one of the better cars on one of my favourite tracks......

Looking forward to lapping it in something other then japanese.........

Bring it on!!!!!!

33 laps this morn..

15.357
34.684

Nice T3 also.. Maybe another tenth to find in total.. for me ;) 👍

I'm stunned at how all of you can find this enjoyable...... i knew as soon as i saw this combo that my patience would be tested.

I ran for an hour tonight, with the following results:

T1: 15.373
T2: 34.817

I'm feeling i made a mess of T3, but we'll see how it holds up. This biggest problem from tonight is my old bugbear of controlling my frustration where i'm up on my splits, only to throw it away..... which is exacerbated in a POS like this. The end result is that it cost me a wheel tonight.

So thats how this WRS event ends for me, and i'm off to get a new DFGT later this week.

Might invest in a stressball while i'm out.

Well my next attempt. Big thanks to small_fryz, love his tune.

T1: 15.552
T2: 35.292

Btw does anyone keep a track of a theoretical fastest lap ie add the fastest splits off all the laps and see what you could do if you could string them all together.

Also can we just edit a post to update the WRS leaderboard site?

Take a look at the bottom of the leaderboard - the bit where it says "Theoretical fastest time:" ;)

I think it depends how far back the post you're editing is - probably best to just post new splits?

As I said, the seasonal time trials do not contribute to engine run-down or engine break in, they also don't add to your car's distance travelled. Once you buy the car new and apply the oil change you will be on the same page as everyone else because that's how Kevin's attempted to make the choice for the vehicle this week, based on its HP new and with oil change versus the limitations of this seasonal combo. That's how I understood it.

All the best
Maz

Ah, sweet, that's good then.👍

First splits after my first hour.

15.561
35.490

I really like this combo, just enough power to keep the comfort tires in line.

Great choice Kevin. 👍

Isn't that the whole point? We're not racing drivers, we do it for fun. Besides, if you relax, its easier anyway - less haste, more speed :)

Shame you've trashed your wheel but look on the bright side - you've set the 5th fastest time so far and are the fastest Div 2 driver on the leaderboard. 👍

Sorry - I misunderstood your question then.

Actually, I don't understand your question even now. :dunce:

 Thanks for that, cheered me up.

I'll help you out DoP. :D

Yeah sometimes I did with GT5P wrs. Only in weeks when I was really concentrating and wanted a good time though. :P

second run this time with the DFP and a terrible hangover. Only a miniscule improvement I just can't see where I am losing time <sigh>

T1: 15.912
T2: 36.273

I'll try again later when the hangover clears I guess.
