I'm sorry, this is my first WRS also, after thinking this would offer a level playing field for people to test where they are in the scheme of GT.

However, you can now modify all of these variables??? that is not a level playing field for me, it rewards the tuners among us.

i really hope this changes for the future events because i dont see the need for allowing this at all. just opening the WRS up to all sorts of criticism about fairness.

Josh.

It might seem a bit unfair. If it's any consolation I have taken part in many many WRS's and have a few podiums and I have absolutely no tuning skills whatsoever. I wouldn't be able to tune a car to save my life. But that is what the tuning section is for. There will almost always be a number of tunes to try out and I am certain that you will find one that suits you.

Here is my first attempts as well

T1: 15.555
T2: 35.037

My main goal from here is trying to cure that power oversteer on exits. It just kills your speed!!

Guys - there's no way to exclude tuning from this racing format.
Blame PD, not Kev.
This is the most level playing field available at the moment.
Also - we all have the same tools to work with, so it's the same for everyone.

Off down the library to get a book about tuning LSD's

Sorry but will I have to calculate splits? The clock does not stop on the replay?

Edit: Or do we not post accumulated split times anymore but rather split splits?

You need to have the replay on the "Live Timing" screen to view your splits.

Yes, but that only shows the times between splits not the total times for the lap up to that point. In GT5P accumulated splits were used (and that is obviously how the WRS leaderboard is built.)

Well - I made a start :dopey:

Sector 1: 15.649
Sector 2: 19.582

Translates to:

T1: 15.649
T2: 35.233

So - Could you Leaderboard guys tell us what format we need to be posting?

Edit:
Just viewed the Leaderboard, and it looks like we need to post splits. So we need to add sector 1 + sector 2 to arrive at T2 split time 👍

The easiest solution would probably be to make the leaderboard calculate the T2 time from the posted splits.

Correct, just post the T1 and T2 times, don't do the calculations yourself.

But the only way, at present, to arrive at a T2 time IS to do the calcs yourself, and add the two sector times together.
Yeah, I just noticed. No sector times are shown during replay. :)

I'm not sure if I've missed something but are we allowed to change wheels?

Thanks.

Changing wheels isn't forbidden in the OP, so I changed mine.
I don't believe they have a performance effect, only cosmetic, unless someone knows different?

I have a bit of a problem with this.

Mode: GT Mode : Seasonal Events :Time Trial No. 7: 295HP/FR Tsukuba Circuit Time Trial
Track: Tsukuba Circuit
Car Type: Premium
Make: US > Chevrolet
Model: Z28 '69
Laps: Hotlap in online Free Run

There's no "free run" button anymore in the time trials. The only way to run this under your tag is to be online, and that means the laptime will be recorded on the leaderboard.

Anyone care to suggest how you run this under the old "free run" where it's effectively just a practice before you do the TT-proper?

The car is too slow to put you on the online leaderboard.

I'm sure you have to be online to bring up the seasonal events, so how could you do this offline. But you could go to arcade or practice mode and run some laps there.

Phillip.

I dont think this is the intention - remember physics are different for online vs offline gameplay.

Could anyone please clarify the 'ride height bug'? I've been searching around but not found much. Some people have noted that high front/low rear somehow makes the car better/quicker, but there is nothing substantial. If I know what the bug is, I can avoid it when setting the car up.

Looking forward to getting started although going to have very limited time this week.

Thanks.

👍 Thanks to all Admins for their great job 👍

Too bad seeing usual moaners that soon :yuck:

@ Renesis : you get it, height bug is front to the air & rear down to the max.
Have a look at some top 10 replays, really easy to notice :)

In GT5P there was a bug that made it was possible to make a certain car, I think it was a Subaru Impreza, go a couple of seconds quicker per lap just by raising the ride height to the highest possible setting. Since it defies all logic that a car should be substantially quicker on a track by using such a setting it was obvious it was a bug. I haven't heard of any such bugs in GT5 though.

Edit: Obviously there is a ride height bug in GT5 as well as pointed out in the post above mine.

Finally a reason to kick Bob in the nuts and let me do some racing. Thanks guys.

For those of you new to the WRS, yes this week is a tuner combo, but don't worry about not being able to tune, people will post their tunes and quite often in the Prologue WRS the top guys in D1 were posting their tunes, it's not something I'd worry about for fairness. Besides, most important thing is to have fun!
