So let me get this straight..... in addition to pulling all the weight out down to 1173kgs, i can spend up big and go to town on suspension (changing camber, toe, height etc) Transmission (altering ratio's etc) and modify drivetrain components yes?
Yes, all modifications to suspension, drivetrain, transmission are allowed. There is a weight specified and no engine or turbo mods are allowed. You are also allowed to add front aero parts but no rear wing.
Mandatory tune would be nice.
Lots of things would be nice. Stock leaderboards, more combos, exact indications of what aids and parts people are using/have installed, precise readout on HP and weight data from a replay...
You wouldn't get a mandatory tune because it would be impossible to police its use. Therefore all we can do is limit the parts that you can alter within acceptable parameters and allow the tuning to be part of the competition for this week.
I'm sorry, this is my first WRS also, after thinking this would offer a level playing field for people to test where they are in the scheme of GT.
However, you can now modify all of these variables??? that is not a level playing field for me, it rewards the tuners among us.
i really hope this changes for the future events because i dont see the need for allowing this at all. just opening the WRS up to all sorts of criticism about fairness.
Josh.
For years now WRS has been a mix of tuning events, stock events, time trials, 3-lap races vs AI, two-combo-combined events etc. It's supposed to be varied and it can only use what we have at our disposal when trying to make sure everyone is playing by the same rules. Maybe with the Feb 18th update more options will be open to us.
Yeah, I'm not very experienced in fine-tuning either - but this could be a good chance to learn - hopefully some people will be willing to post their settings.
As you have seen later on, people already have 👍
I dont think this is the intention - remember physics are different for online vs offline gameplay.
Actually when doing the Online seasonal time trials the "physics" tend to be the same as for the offline driving because these seasonal TTs do not add to your distance, they do not contribute to engine run-in or run-down and they don't take into account fuel effect. 👍
Alright, got my pedals back today and they seem to be working fine again, just in time for WRS. We'll see what happens with the tune. I wonder how many kms will get put on my car, too bad the first 300km will be at a power disadvantage.
On such a short track the positional deficits should be miniscure.
As I said, the seasonal time trials do not contribute to engine run-down or engine break in, they also don't add to your car's distance travelled. Once you buy the car new and apply the oil change you will be on the same page as everyone else because that's how Kevin's attempted to make the choice for the vehicle this week, based on its HP new and with oil change versus the limitations of this seasonal combo. That's how I understood it.
All the best
