First splits.

T1: 15.784
T2: 35.489

Spent most of my time trying to find a setup that suits me. I'm still not sure if I should set the tranny up as a 4 or 5 speed.

Good fun though. 👍
Cheers Shaun.

I'm laughably off the pace it's almost embarrassing. Knew as soon as I saw Tsukuba and comfort soft that it would be a nightmare for me. You just get no feedback on these tyres.

Alright, got my pedals back today and they seem to be working fine again, just in time for WRS. We'll see what happens with the tune. I wonder how many kms will get put on my car, too bad the first 300km will be at a power disadvantage.:indiff: On such a short track the positional deficits should be miniscure.

It's raining outside, so a perfect excuse to put in some WRS time :)

Slight improvement after a 2nd session 👍

T1: 15.469
T2: 35.072

There's the Z28 Premium, which runs 294 - 295 bhp after oil change.
There's also a '69 Camaro SS standard.

You should be using the Z28 for this event.

Ooops - sorry for double post.

My first GT5 WRS splits:

15.467
35.075

Should be interesting with tuning thrown in. I don't usually compete in tuning weeks because I suck at it. Looks like its time to learn.

Double posting is as naughty as your avatar's G string! I have another question though; I see people posting T1 and T2 times; are we meant to run two laps?

Improved my time by a tenth. Still fiddling with setup but here is what I have so far.

Suspension
-20/-15
7/13
3/4
4/5
2/5

Camber: 2.0/1.0
Toe: 0/0

Top Speed: 210

LSD: 12/35/10

T1: 15.474
T2: 35.011

Just based on my best splits so far, a 15.3 / 34.8 is possible.. But Tough to get the corner exits consistent. Maybe someone can improve on my settings to make the car more stable? Anyway thats me done for tonight

I just made it to the top of the leader board by being an idiot...sorry:dunce:

Anyway - correct times after 30 mins:

T1: 15.849
T2: 35.761

DS3 all the way...

Here are my 1st lot of splits.

T1: 15.598
T2: 35.472

These tires make me feel like I'm skating on ice . I must be gentle on the pedal coming out of the corners, or I'll be sliding out of control :dopey:.

So let me get this straight..... in addition to pulling all the weight out down to 1173kgs, i can spend up big and go to town on suspension (changing camber, toe, height etc) Transmission (altering ratio's etc) and modify drivetrain components yes?

Yes, all modifications to suspension, drivetrain, transmission are allowed. There is a weight specified and no engine or turbo mods are allowed. You are also allowed to add front aero parts but no rear wing.

Mandatory tune would be nice.

Lots of things would be nice. Stock leaderboards, more combos, exact indications of what aids and parts people are using/have installed, precise readout on HP and weight data from a replay...

You wouldn't get a mandatory tune because it would be impossible to police its use. Therefore all we can do is limit the parts that you can alter within acceptable parameters and allow the tuning to be part of the competition for this week.

I'm sorry, this is my first WRS also, after thinking this would offer a level playing field for people to test where they are in the scheme of GT.

However, you can now modify all of these variables??? that is not a level playing field for me, it rewards the tuners among us.

i really hope this changes for the future events because i dont see the need for allowing this at all. just opening the WRS up to all sorts of criticism about fairness.

Josh.

For years now WRS has been a mix of tuning events, stock events, time trials, 3-lap races vs AI, two-combo-combined events etc. It's supposed to be varied and it can only use what we have at our disposal when trying to make sure everyone is playing by the same rules. Maybe with the Feb 18th update more options will be open to us.

Yeah, I'm not very experienced in fine-tuning either - but this could be a good chance to learn - hopefully some people will be willing to post their settings.

As you have seen later on, people already have 👍

I dont think this is the intention - remember physics are different for online vs offline gameplay.

Actually when doing the Online seasonal time trials the "physics" tend to be the same as for the offline driving because these seasonal TTs do not add to your distance, they do not contribute to engine run-in or run-down and they don't take into account fuel effect. 👍

As I said, the seasonal time trials do not contribute to engine run-down or engine break in, they also don't add to your car's distance travelled. Once you buy the car new and apply the oil change you will be on the same page as everyone else because that's how Kevin's attempted to make the choice for the vehicle this week, based on its HP new and with oil change versus the limitations of this seasonal combo. That's how I understood it.

All the best

Beautiful car! One my firsts and favourite. Shame we have to butcher it to be competetive though.

Going to run it stock with all the bits fitted for a while first. Might try tuning but I usually end up making things worse

Someone suggested that you could go to practice mode, but I'm pretty sure this would break-in the engine and add HP. You might want to mention in the OP that the car shouldn't be run anywhere that adds miles to the car, since people might not think of that and then they'll have to rebuild the engine (or worse, they won't even notice they've gained a couple HP).

The TT event is limited to 295hp, so they would find out pretty quickly.

New splits using Dragonistic's tune:

15.327
34.681

Last sector was poor, of course :sly:, but still managed to improve overall.

Nice combo EDK! I love Tsukuba. And happy to see the WRS going again :).

First splits:

T1: 15.709
T2: 35.461

Tsukuba eh? And PD had me thinking that the MX5 was the only car you are allowed to drive at that track! Great combo guys, especially given the difficulty of what you have to work with right now, can't wait to get started 👍

I ran about 50 laps in completely stock car (no oil change) :

T1 16.094
T2 36.103

WRS 1 would never have been up on time if PD had anything to do with it. :sly:

Well done admins.

First session:

16.112
36.364

Right, well I just took the car out on practice mode to get re-aquainted and after an oil change I have 298bhp!

Why bother putting oil change in the OP if you were never meant to break the engine in in the first place!? New engines don't need an oil change.

Waste of time and money. 👎

The OP specifically states that an oil change would bring the car to the max HP allowed. You should have known better than to run break-in laps.

Edit: AND it was discussed again in posts 75, 77, and 78.

Nice choice admin team. Have to admit that my first thought was "Tsukuba, meh!" The car and tyre combination really make it an enjoyable challenge though. Good stuff.

First splits:

T1: 15.851
T2: 35.480

Wait hold on, in order to be able to compete in the GTP WRS, I need to make a totally new psn account and thus start gt5 from scratch? Why cant I just use my psn?
