I have just done 20+ laps on my saved setting & not beat my submited time, I was pulling my average every lap.
I didn't notice any difference In grip or anything.
One thing I did notice was the FFB felt a little different, But I've not checked If It's reset It's self In options.

15.508
35.232

I could probably find another .2 or .3 (for my ability) but I fear I would end up in a mental hospital first. 54 miles in the car was enough for me... some of you guys are crazy. :)

Question: Why don't we submit our splits to the bot along with the lap-time? It seems like on the final scoresheet there will be quite a few people who have splits from different laps if they didn't come back here and update.

The splits board is an encouragement tool to the participators, rather than a tool where you know the splits of every single person's submitted lap, some on the board may submit, others may submit without ever posting splits. It's encouraged, but it's not mandatory.

So can we Fiddle with the gear Ratios if yes Then Can someone post a Good setup .

Please run the rules as posted right now.

We have not made any rule updates, so assume you are required to run the event as posted. PLEASE.

Finally a new session with an improvement in lap time. For me, a little sliding in this car isn't such a bad thing after all. This moves me up 30 places and I've worked for 'em all :sly:! No changes in set up from pre-patch.

T1: 15.557
T2: 35.242

I saw my overall time drop by a tenth today, but still haven't beat my splits from Monday. I realised today that I didn't put chassis reinforcement on the car and that seemed to help quite a bit, making me more consistent. I feel like I have a tenth or two in me still but no time this weekend between work and the 500. We will see.

Transmission: Optional

???

Thats not a real rule for this new situation now. Must be clarified. ;)

So will better stop for today. I was running today with my own transmission. :odd:

I can not say there is more grip, but its now easyer to do a good lap.
Strange is, yesterday my top speed at the line was always between 150-152 km/h. Today between 152-154 km/h. And i don´t think thats only because of the new gearbox. :)

Just shaved 4 tenths from my time, 2 from sector 1 and put on 2 in sector 2. I really hooked up that 2nd to last corner, plus new transmission helped.

So you are right. Wasn't that way when we made the event, no need to clarify then. ;)

Still discussing our decision, hope we will have something soon.

Had to submit today, as I'm off to Edinburgh tomorrow. Maybe I'll get to use my driving from this weeks WRS and get the tail out as its ment to snow tomorrow!! Left loads of time on the track, I just couldn't find that pefect line. Good luck all, happy sliding.

Am I the only one that's completely confused by the above discussion? I was going to post after EDK's first response that changing gear ratios is allowed because there's no rule against it. But then he said "Wasn't that way when we made the event, no need to clarify" which in the absence of a subject isn't very clear.

Edited to read simply = I look kinda stoopid. ;)

What he means is, we couldn't change the individual gear ratios when the event started, so don't do it now... at least until a decision has been reached and posted here :)

At least I hope that's what he means, or I'm gonna look kinda stoopid. ;)
LOL, when he said to run it as the rules state, I took that as "anything goes with the transmission", since that's what it states! If someone were just starting their runs today, and they read the rules, they can't be expected to know that "Optional Transmission" means "You can pick the tunable transmission and set the max speed but not change the gear ratios."

But I don't know why I'm still here discussing this, I've resolved not to run this combo any more! :)

Oh well, I'm running with custom ratios for now, I think it would be a good idea to allow them.

 I see. I'll withdraw my "helpful" post then (ahem) :dopey: :dunce:

What makes you think I'm right? The whole point was that his statements were vague and open to interpretation.

Edit: See, you were right. Now you deleted your post and called yourself a dunce for nothing.

I meant, there was no need to clarify the transmission settings at the time we posted the event.

And now we have this mess, but we still have to decide (As a team) what to do. We're working on it.

Sorry for the Confusion EDK ,I know it's already Tough for you Guys but needed clarification Looks like we have to relay on The Honesty of the Participants which I am sure Everybody here is a decent Sports man .

Unfortunately allowing it now would basically turn this into a 2 day competition...

WOW! Nice splits man

I think you may just have put D2 gold position out of reach. Well for me anyway.

Holy crap! I'll bet your stoked... and you were knocking it on the head a few days back  Amazing split times, man... and if that T3 is as good, you've creamed the rest of us in D2. 👍 :ouch:

Me too. :yuck: :)

New splits:

T1: 15.280
T2: 34.637

:nervous::scared:

I go to bed down here in the bottom corner of the world.... and you go and sniper my time Chris!!!!

Supreme T1...... How was T3?

:dopey: Sorry mate, 'twas not my intention... but everything seemed to be switched on this morning  T3 felt good I think and like the rest of that lap, was far and away the best I've managed so far.

Sandbagger...? :P Honestly did my best in the quali but I've never been that hot at Green Hell. I enjoy it and all but never could crack the best times there. Plus I really like this Z28 - it seems to suit my driving style. :)

Unless the guys decide to extend this week's competition to allow for the changes... whatever solution they decide I'm sure will be fair. :)

Great combo to start with Kev. I'm having some fun with this beast. 👍

Oh well, submitted now as I may not get on till next week.....
May get chance Sunday but I'm not getting close to my time now. My other self that did the hot lap just fecks off into the distance on T2!!!

BTW Jake, you need to add up your 2 sector times to get T2 or you'll end up at the top of the leaderboard!!

As most of you are aware, PD implemented an update last night that has brought some of the rules for this event into question. The GTP Race Admin team has thoroughly discussed this matter, and formed the following resolution -

  • The original rules on engine turning still apply. You are only allowed to perform an oil change in GT Auto. Performance enhancing engine upgrades are strictly forbidden.
  • Adjusting individual transmission gears will not be allowed. If you've made a run with the individual transmission gears adjusted, reset them to the default settings, and adjust top speed only. This is verifiable by monitoring engine RPM's in individual gears. Those found cheating will face the punishment listed below.
  • Upon completion of WRS week 1, the results will be posted as provisional. At this time, the results of week 1 will not count toward any promotions or long term tracking.
  • Assume that you will need to post a replay for this event. A very large portion of participants, if not all participants, will be required to post a replay.
  • In the event that PD issues a replay system that allows us to verify the HP, torque and equipment upgrades made to the cars, we will review ALL replays at that time and make the results “Official”
  • Anyone found to be exploiting the update and breaking the rules of this event will be permanently banned from the GTP Registry. This is whether the cheating is found on initial replay review, or review of replays after implementation of an improved replay system.

A PM containing this same information will be sent to all current participants, within 24 hours.

I just did some tweaking to the setup of eclipsee and I found it really helpful. Simply stiffen the rear suspension to 9.5 and it will help make the car more stable. I managed an excellent first sector (and I mean it:sly:) and almost lost all the gap I built in the second but could still improve by .1 second on the lap.

T1: 15.261
T2: 34.752

Hahahaha just joking, supreme splits once again mate. I'm looking forward to a loooong battle over the coming months between the both of us..

Re: times I was kind of the other way around..... those times in the Z28 have been there it's just implementing the lap. If i get a chance before the weekend is over, i'll attmept to peice another together.

As for the qualifier, i was way too cautious in staying off the grass, i was petrified of being DSQ! Could have gone a bit quicker, but i'm not a fan of submitting messy looking laps.

Good plan, fair all round 👍 Shame the result won't count though.... I've done some 779.7 miles on this...
