I saw another .2 but probably won't be able to get it in time. :D

T1: 15.360
T2: 35.001

Well I just tried making a series of replays where I modified a single car setting at a time, and the resulting PARAM files in the replay folders are drastically different. So reverse-engineering probably wouldn't be very successful (though admittedly I have almost no experience in attempting stuff like this). If only someone could get in touch with a programmer at PD with knowledge of the replay system, they could probably write us a script to extract car attributes in half an hour. Sorry for OT.

slower T1, but faster T2 with slight adjustment to stock LSD settings (8 / 37 / 20)

T1: 15.895
T2: 35.983

Meh bit annoyed at what has been chosen since the new update so im going to stay out of this one. I think you guys will find eventually that there was changes with the update even without messing with anything. Me and others have found extra time very easily and I think you will find it is due to the fully customised transmission.

Even without changing any settings from before the update i found with 210km/h max and no tuning of individual gears it was alot faster acceleration wise.

It was quite easy to determine the difference just from the hundreds of times I have sat there and restarted and done that final turn onto the start/finish line over and over again.

Said i had given up trying...it was obviously a lie!

Edit 4
Breakthru!!

T1 15.374
T2 34.733

Stock gearbox
Come on Nick..i see you lurking there! - what times are you getting?

Yeah, whatever. I guess you would have suggested for us to just stop where we were, since you were done?

No i just think you could have done a little more research before putting up the rule change that you did.

I find it a bit wierd that you would go this route when you allow tuning PRE-UPDATE but after the update you wont allow certain tuning elements?

I'm just worried that submitting a time is going to result in getting a tarnished name even without changing any settings, because of the full custom gearbox.

We did our best to make it a level playing field, among those who set their best lap pre update, or post update.

To move to "anything goes" post update would afford those who have the most time in the last 3 days of run time the advantage, something we didn't want to provide.

I've run an hour so far. I have a goal, I have not come anywhere close to attaining it. I'm just getting warmed up. If we made a decision to only use replays that were done before the update, I probably wouldn't even submit.

Not that I would put my own interests above those of the entire group, but I'm sure someone is in the same boat as me.

I had improved 4 tenths since pre-update, which I fully believe was a result of tuning and better driving, not some mystical physics change, so I'm glad with this.

So the allowed things to alter remain... exactly the same! Sounds like a sensible decision admins. Can't see why people would complain about that. I suppose flaming people over every little thing is always a popular pastime on the internets though.

Without sounding disrespectful... What's wrong with adjusting gears to help a car drive through and out of turns making the most of it's powerband? We are able to adjust the suspension to make a car handle better. How is adjusting the tranny any different?

Now, I do understand there is no way to verify a suspension setup. So allowing setups is more or less conceeding.

Or is there some other reason individual gear adjustments are not allowed?

How about a mandatory maximum speed setting?

I just don't see the harm. If you know how to set up a tranny, good for you. Just as suspension, if you don't, then use one posted.

The problem is, we had about 150 people who already had times on the board before the update, some of whom may not have the chance to run again. Offering an additional advantage for the last few days of the event would not have been fair and equitable.

Ok fair enough i understand that. So will there still be a week 2 at the same time? looking forward to seeing what comes with that.

I just logged on after the update, and my Z-28 now has 296bhp?! What do I do now? Can I still compete?

Need to buy another one.

@All race admin, just a big thanks for your efforts to keep this week fair for all, and providing new guidelines in very quick time.👍

Just hope we get some improved replays soon.

*phew* For a while there it was looking as though I wasn't going to improve on one of my earliest sessions for this week.

T1: 15.758
T2: 35.591

Sometimes I drink coffee and race the latest fancy, testing myself against a qualified field. Other times, I don't drink coffee and type on a semi-functional keyboard. I'm not drinking coffee, so here it is as I see it. This is what WRS means to me.
I. Don't cheat.
II. Don't try to cheat.
III. Be willing to show you did not cheat.

These are the Rules.
I. Buy this car.
II. Do this only to that car.
III. Drive that car on this track.

Why.
I. WRS is a privilege, not a Right.
II. We [the WRS community] want this to be accurate.
III. If you can't agree, go away.

I love this series, and have bonded with some really cool people while dong it. Don't make it hard on those who are providing it.

That is all I have to say, or type.

RACE ON!!! :gtpflag:

new splits:

T1: 15.422
T2: 35.507999999999996

now i've figured out how to get in the 15.5s and 15.4s in T1 i just have to figure out T2 and try and get that down into the 19s consistantly.

still pwning S3 though so this lap shaved another .200 overall off my PB laptime.

Care to share. :)

I brake late, go wide-ish because of the late brake. Then I lift off until I'm facing a straight-ish exit line from which i add the power. It's given me some 15.3xx sectors that I haven't been able to capitalize on.

Someone else suggested in this thread (I can't be bothered looking back to find it)

But they said to brake down into 2nd and let go of accelerator at apex of the first hairpin, car will begin to kick out and then as soon as it does kick it up to 3rd and floor it (well, controlled floor it)

I found this got me from 15.9s down to 15.4-15.5s

edit, just saw post above me

Basically the same lol.

My time was posted before the update.
IMO the WRS trial should of been set the the stock gearbox In the 1st place, As this Is a competition to see who can get the same car around a circuit In the fastest time.
I think It would of been wrong to use customised gear ratios 3/4 of the way through the trial anyway & anyone trying to sneak In a time with ratio adjustment don't deserve a place here.
The WRS Is a well established competition where qualifying members have respect for fellow members & the times they post.
Getting 1st on the board doesn't intrest me at all, But bettering myself does & I get the inspiration from guys posting mental times.

I respect the decision of the staff here & think they have done really well on the whole problems thing.

*EDIT*
On the leader board how do I get a wheel next to my name?
