T4: 53.038

T9: 32.680

I've had time for short sessions each of the last 2 nights, but this really isn't a short session combo. I have a better time at the line now, but my time up to T9 has not improved. I just happened to glance at the split and saw it was about the same, so went for broke in the last section. That should make it really fun when I have a good T9. :sly:

I'll have time to lay one down this weekend.

 Amazing pic there.

Found my banker lap, only one really bad sector, that is Sector 8, which is about .3 off my best (my previous lap, which I binned and then swore, a lot). I think I could find another second with a perfect lap, but there's just so many places that can go so badly wrong. Really tough, but quite enjoyable when you hook up the car. Saving a 130mph tankslapper on this lap at the end of Sector 6 was quite butt clenching!

Hmm, threw away a 5:38.5 lap x2 while lapping today, frustrating but I am starting to nail the 2nd half of the lap far more regularly - I now know which gears to be in and which turns are tightest and which require more car.

I did get a faster lap, but the splits are marginally worse - mostly due to a poor start. Finish was stronger but lining up for the last 2 turns was poor, as was the last turn. My goal is to get something like 5:38.0 at T9 but I probably won't have time now as I'm away for a few days. Might get one last shot at it on Monday!

For now....

Edit: Awesome, dropped a place. Woeful first half of the lap compared to those around me too. I need a new drawing board.....

Will give this a go for the first time tonight. Not sure how I will fare. Last week in D4, let's hope I can leave on a high.:)

T1: 44.325
T2: 33.885
T3: 28.681
T4: 50.164
T5: 38.368
T6: 27.917
T7: 48.877
T8: 33.730
T9: 29.183

My first really consistent and clean lap. Not my fastest individual sectors but also no major mistakes. Hard to describe how fast my heart was racing coming down the main straight after seeing - at T9. :)

Hi all, :)
This is my first and, most likely, my last run on this combination unfortunately. Have alot going on with Uni exams coming up and my birthday on Monday :D
Anyway, I got in just shy of 4 hours today and feel if I can get in another run before the deadline I could squeeze out at least another second, possibly two!

Will post some pictures later, regarding what constitutes a kerb here (Nordschleife)? and also ambiguity as to whether two full tyres must be in contact with/vertically above or can two tyres just be partially in contact with/vertically above...?

Anyway, after 4 hours I am still not convinced this is going to be enough but with time at a premium this week I feel I will be submitting these;

T1: 43.973
T2: 33.753
T3: 28.412
T4: 49.763
T5: 39.166
T6: 27.970
T7: 48.705
T8: 33.291
T9: 29.436

Lost almost a full second in T5 due to a mistake on the left-hander at the start of the sector, then lost another .25 minimum in T9 by out-braking myself into the double-right leading onto the long, winding section...
So as I said before I could no question drop over a second from these splits but time is not on my side this week... :(
Might try and grab a couple of hours on my birthday to get some laps in just before the deadline... :sly:

Sam :)

Two tires partially in contact or vertically above.

And all hard surfaces are track, that part is not ambiguous in the first post.

But please do post a picture of the issue in question, as I would rather let you know whether or not it's clean in here, rather than having to DQ you after the fact.

One Run against my fastest ghost, and I kicked tailend. He never caught me after T1.
I Do think I'm about at my limit.

T1: 44.845
T2: 34.818
T3: 29.483
T4: 51.725
T5: 40.632
T6: 28.629
T7: 52.441
T8: 36.284
T9: 33.384

Wow Division 4 great splits.

so for today, 10 full laps, 25+ restarts and not 1 single good lap.

I'm always trying to push the limit every lap and end up going off in every possible corner, never the same corner.

@poolhaas: Same here! So frustrating, yet so fun, at the same time.
I have 2 more sessions "scheduled", so I hope to at least complete a few more laps.

We're .6 apart at T9, sounds like we need to hook up for some online, for practice.
Are you back online yet? I should be, but haven't gotten around to it. This week's
combo was more enticing. 👍

EDK
....but this really isn't a short session combo.

 I hope you said that with a straight face Kev... and one eyebrow raised in Spock-esque puzzlement.

Just did a 90 minute session. Without finishing a single lap. :ouch:

I feel that mate. I've put 3 hours straight in tonight.... determined to make at least some progress. Managed 2 clean laps all night but both with a marginal improvement at least. No consistency in sectors though. I've actually got in the 43.xxx in T1 a couple of times and hit the T2 marker with a 1'17.5 then thrown in the towel at the fast double right at the top of the hill.

Anyway, a little step forward:

44.544
33.775
28.802
50.250
38.591
27.924
49.066
33.740
29.254

One of my slowest T1s but my best T9 so far. I reckon I can find maybe another 1 to 1.5 on the lap but it may be a tall order given the ratio of wasted laps to clean ones.

Have a good weekend all.

Fiirst set of splits, from my 2nd session.

Finally able to string together some back to back clean laps. Chasing a decent ghost lap helps me out so much. Decent for me anyway. Losing the most time in the blind uphill sections by being to cautious. Hopefully I can learn them a little better and push it harder.
First splits of the week finally......no laughing at the slow guy from Texas now.

I think my next session will start with some FGT as warmup...I figure if I can get clean laps @ 150% speed, maybe it'll help sort me out in the R8..

Lots of swears, sweat, and tears went into this session...

Pictures following... Having trouble getting them to display in my reply...
EDIT: Not any more, displayed correctly in later post courtesy of EDK and Photobucket! :D ...Flickr 👎 :yuck:

not... :nervous: Although, it would seem from your answer before that only picture 1 is questionable! :D

Yep, you are right. That one is really close. If you really believe that's as far as you go off track, you're fine. If you're not sure, find a new lap.

I tried changing the pics to img vs. url, but that didn't work. Try photobucket or imageshack next time. ;)

Down to a 5:37.222 - havent gotten to many laps yet, hoping for more runs soon. ABS 2 - BB 7/6 - EO.

Found my banker lap

Finally got some free time and checked the leader board only to find you squarely heading up the "best of the rest" group 👍. Its just not fair to leave that burden upon you so I thought I would help. Very productive 60min session where I just kept improving lap after lap to a total of 3 seconds compared to my last session earlier in the week. I think I'm loosing a bit too much time in the first half but will confirm where once I enter the splits into the board.

Feeling very comfortable with the combo now, hoping to find another second or so as still a few places I need to fine tune, but I don't see it possible to get any where near Dan or Zoky .

Interesting how the divisions are much more grouped this week and no one is really "out of place"

Edit,

From T3 to T4 I lost .6 to you Nigel!!, Need to fix that up and I'm good :D

This is a great combo but so hard to keep the lap clean til the end... managed only one clean lap, but it's my best overall. I see where I'm losing time in T1, but after that, I have no clue. Maybe not maintaining enough speed through the corners.
