Welcome back Peter mate... You sure you got those splits right?

Jon - I think max hp is 727. I just reached that tonight.

Changed:

LSD to 10/12/9

Ride height -21/-30

Camber 2.5/2.1

Toe 0.0/0.0

New splits:
26.780
20.487

Need a tidier T3 to go with it and I reckon I'm about at my limit with this, unless I have a setup breakthrough. This car/tyre combo is not good at giving feedback on changes.

Looks like Maverick has been turned into some sort of hybrid with that T1 - outrageous 👍 I knew CT would arrive with something better though. 👍

Thanks Chris, although I can't see the 1hp I'm missing making the difference between me and Cico unfortunately
You'd be surprised the difference one horse can make. :dopey:

How are the pedals?

I'm lovin' 'em mate, thanks for asking :).... I've been struggling with the G25 pedals for a few weeks - sticking brake and not reaching full throttle half the time. These Clubsports are a dream by comparison - throttle inputs are more precise and trail braking is so much easier to judge. Fanatastic. :P The springs are a bit softer than the G25's so I spent a bit of time spinning and outbraking myself but my feet are re-calibrated now.

Strange, but when you are in GT mode garage, the HP is 726, but when you go to settings within practice Mode at the track, the HP is always 727 for me.

And slower is faster for me again...

26.951
20.540

Think I'm done with this one, only gained .020 in the past two days I think, though this last session was pretty good, all over it, just not quite throwing it down, even lost one in the final turn, coulda gained me some good time with that.

I'm thinking about re-thinking my gearing, gotta be some time in it through gearing, right?

Finally found a tune that i suits me :sly:

Areo max
Gears stock, Max speed 205mph
LSD 10,15,16
-25,-30
14.1,15.0
7,8
7,8
5,5
2.2,1.4
-0.03,0.03
BB 6,5
tcs 1
abs 2

and got these splits
27:453
21:352
still only at 720bhp, so will max that out and have another go this weekend

Lap started out not so good, so I just drove the rest casually. Out of that came my best T2 and T3 so far. Note to self: Don't try so hard :indiff:

T1: 27.280
T2: 20.449

Current setup, which I am pretty satisfied with:

Trans (340 km/h with 2nd-5th made a little longer. Could probably just have decreased final gear a bit)
1: 3.839
2: 2.540
3: 1.835
4: 1.392
5: 1.109
6: 0.928
Final 3.360
Max 346/340 km/h

I tried CSL's gearing and it has some very good points, makes the car immediately easier to drive. 4th and 5th for the T1 left-right and the following T2 downhill right-left are spot on. But it is close gearing, which also means more downshifts at entry to the left U-turns in T1 and T2. For me that means too much unsettling of the car.

LSD: 13/12/12

I once thought 10/15/15 and 15/10/10 should be equal, how wrong I was! The former is way more twitchy, the latter is too boring. I guess the slip-limiting strength is the same (25), but with 15/10/10 it sets in earlier. So I went with something in between. I may still have misunderstood the workings of LSD completely, but it works well for me.

Suspension:
-25/-30
14.2/15.6
7/9
8/10
4/7
2.6/2.2
-0.10/0.05

Brakes: 7/4 abs=5

Probably my Final setup, and the one I used for my current best lap...
50 / 70
4.xxx ?
2.572
2.090
1.690
1.380
1.140
2.740

Top Speed 174/215
For those who don't know, take stock trans, pull top speed down to 174mph (280kph), then bring final drive down, and adjust gears.

16
12
11

-30 -29
12.9 14.8
9 10
7 9
6 7

3.0 2.2
-0.05 0.0

BB 5/4 ABS 1

Using 2nd gear into and out of turn 3, U-turn in T2, and usually the tight right before last turn, 4th or 5th for all other turns.

LOVE my new splits, had to laugh seeing what FetchBot gone and done!

Using Chris' setup from a couple days ago (I can't keep up with all these settings, but thanks everyone for sharing!)

28.004
21.167

Was afraid of this car since the Prologue days, and especially since Jump_Ace announced it early, for this week. But, with you all's help, I'm starting to love it!

Nice T2 there 👍
I think I've reached my limit on this one

27.876
21.355

That corner before the slippery hairpin in T2 is a hard one for me, I keep losing time there.

T1: 27.891
T2: 21.338

still quite of bit of time to make up. I think another hour and I'll be happy with my time.

I don't know how you guys do it but I can't see a damn thing on this track! :)

Best split so far was a 48.5 that I immediately crashed. Might try to get a submit-able lap tonight when it's dark out, with the TV brightness set to 100, and perhaps the driving line on. ;)

I've found that leaning in your chair REALLY helps. :) the more you lean the more traction you get. lol also, anytime I beat my original lap, I go watch it for a couple different reasons, to make sure its clean, to see where I gained time, and to see where else I might be able to gain more time.

there have been some good setups posted, find the one you like best, then either modify your driving to suit it, or tweak it to how you want it to feel. The worst thing you can do is spend countless time driving a car that isn't driveable. I usually spend the first 5 days tweaking on a setup and then concentrate the rest of the time on that setup.... I'm never satisfied with a setup as I always think it can be made better... time is always a killer for me.

thanks to the guys that post their sets, makes it much better for us that don't have a clue where to start.

That freezing on the finish straight started happening again. Is anybody else having this? I changed my ghost lap like somebody said to do, which worked fine up untill just now. Seems kind of strange.

EDIT: Having said that, it's kind of a good thing. I just beat my time by .4xx without a ghost..

My first 20 laps running Vagabonds settings

28.113

This car's a bit of animal round this tiny track though lol

XMB > Settings > Display Settings > RGB Full Range = OFF ?
I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure it's set to "full". I set that long ago (before GT5) when I read somewhere that it's the "proper" setting if your TV can handle it. I'll give it a try tonight, thanks for the tips guys! :)

I just adjust my brightness and E.V., grey is better than not being able to see.
Using 480i standard though, so RGB full range doesn't affect me I don't think.

Every week when I get stuck though, I switch to AS strong, then down to mild, then off, etc, with the exception of Tokyo (mild) I always end up running my fastest times with it off, but something about the switching makes me faster eventually...

T1: 27.938
T2: 21.754

Doubt if I can shave any more time off the above, but if so, it might be on T2 and T3 where I have done better.

 to Chris for the suspension and Dominic for the gear settings that always seem to fit my style of driving. And to everybody else that posted setups. You guys contribute so much to making my learning curve smaller each week! 👍

Yeah probably only HDMI.

No offense, but I think that is purely psychological :)

Sorted 👍
That is one badass Aston Martin there.

It might be, all I know for sure is it seems to help. I can instantly feel the difference turning it on and off, but I have to turn more aggressively with it on, maybe that helps when I turn it off? No clue, just know it seems to help me week in and week out. 👍

cicua, it helped a ton with visibility, thanks. :) Unfortunately I won't have time to catch up with the really quick guys but I got some splits worth posting at least.

T1: 26.999
T2: 20.686

Engine is not quite broken in yet, only up to 716hp so far, so maybe I can beat it if I find some time tomorrow.

CSLACR, I think the active steering helps you be more aggressive on entry so you get used to the "right speed". Then as you gradually take it back off you get a bit more fine control which in your case I guess means you can squeeze a few more hundreds out of the turns. I haven't really experimented with it enough to notice that kind of progression myself. :)

Now back to the N24!

it started in week 12, where I tried it and lost time, then promptly gained when I turned it off. For a few weeks I tried AS, and while it never helped I noticed a pattern emerging of beating my best lap every time I switched back.
And now it's ritual. :)

Maybe slightly slower splits but nice T3 which was over half a second quicker at the line :sly:
