The finalized division placement and handicap process can take time for everything to be finished, and is therefore often done in batches. All I can say is be patient, and you can still participate in racing with your "Provisional" division placement. Just keep an eye on this thread for updates on new drivers, and keep those fingers crossed! :D

yes i'll be patient as i have to :)
but you know i's not easy to live with crossed fingers

If you didn't cut corners you'll be fine it really only determinants on which division your gonna be in.

NOTE: We forgot to document the tie breakers for the points championship. Like everything else in this series we are going to duplicate the real world FIA regulations:

If two or more drivers finish the season with the same number of points, the higher place in the Championship shall be awarded to :
a) the holder of the greatest number of first places,
b) if the number of first places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of second places,
c) if the number of second places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of third places and so on until a winner emerges.
d) if this procedure fails to produce a result, the FIA will nominate the winner according to such criteria as it thinks fit.

Believe it or not d: is actually in the FIA regulations :boggled:

I'll let you in on the WRS criteria for d.
  • Finishing position in the final grand prix.
  • If neither driver takes part in the final GP then based on the last GP that both took part.
  • If none of the above apply, then the tie stands (will never get to this point for one of the top 3 as you have to participate to make it that high).

I have to say your method makes a lot less sense than the FIA's method.

How's that? You'd rather I just say "I'll pick a winner if other tie breakers don't settle it."

OK, just pretend I said that and I'll just use the criteria I outline for d: and we'll both be happy.

Oh sorry, my bad, I thought you meant you were replacing the whole regulation with that, didn't realise you just meant d.

Yah, was just replacing "what it sees fit" with actual written rules. The odds of us having to get all the way to d) to break ties is pretty low I think anyway. But don't want to be in a situation where I'm making things up on the fly.

Anyone doing any practice Sunday around 19:00 GMT, I know its just under a month but I need that time just to practise keeping the car on track :)

I would like to join you! My car still needs to be broken in!

i can play to u champioship?

Open to anyone, but you first must qualify for the GTP_Registry. As I responded on an earlier page in this thread:

Yes, but you need to be on the GTP_Registry first... read this: GTP WRS-Online : Comprehensive Guide.

You have enough time to run the qualifier, get your provisional division assignment and build up enough credits ($10M) to buy the F10... And once you are on the registry you can take part in all WRS events:

GTP Weekly Race Series Online Events
GTP Weekly Race Series Time Trials

Until you are on the registry AND fill out the online registration form the system will ignore any attempt to register.

NOTE: I've got this reply saved as a text file because I expect to use it often. :sly:

First, you have to create a GTP tag PSN account... e.g. GTP_peir and level it up until you unlock "Special Events > AMG Driving Academy > Intermediate"

Then you run the GTP_Registry Qualifier - GT5 using your new GTP tag PSN account and submit your times via PM as described in the qualifier post. Be sure to save your replays from the qualifier because they will be required to be submitted via email after you submit your times to verify your times. All instructions are included in that thread and if you have further questions post here: GTP_Registry Discussion Thread (GT5)

Once your times and replays are submitted the WRS admins will review your submission and assign you a division and handicap. You only qualify once in GT5 (retries are not permitted after you submit) and then you are eligible for all WRS events offline and online (at least until GT6 when a new qualifier will be developed). You do not need to be active to maintain your eligibility for each event. Each event you register for may have it's own qualification to determine where you start on the grid and which room your race in, but that's event specific.

Hey. Would any of you ever be up for some random F1 racing? Either in public lobbies or in the B lounge? Or maybe just a long practice session?

EDIT: Get well soon, Murray!

EDIT: Get well soon, Murray!

The GT3 race is on next Sunday, I'm sure after that the focus will shift to the Nurburgring GP.

I'll be practicing quite a bit :sly:.

NOTE: I believe quite a few of the drivers in the F1 series are already signed up for this upcoming team based event, but just in case you missed it:

Saturday, August 10

more info

We will likely end up with 40+ drivers across 12+ teams so if you are not already signed up, head over to the thread and check it out.

You F1 drivers still alive out there? :sly:

The F1 Grand Prix of Germany is only 11 days away! First official practice only 9 days!

Right now it looks like we are at that "ugly number" of 17 confirmed drivers. Hoping a few more confirm so nobody sits out this round. Remember, if you can't make the knockout qualification be sure to schedule an observed qualification session with a steward.

Good luck!

PS> Can one of the admins please set the B room to default to Nurb GP/F (with mics-enabled) so we can designate that as the official F1 practice lounge from now until the race?

I too hope for a good number of drivers, it would be a shame to have a few disappointed drivers again after qualifying... I will be practising this one this weekend. Maybe even do a full length one on saturday evening. Anyone else up for that?

Will do that this evening. 👍

Edit:
Done! GTP_3D3_B is now set for you guys to practice. :)
