That's correct. D-league racing is restricted to D3-silver and up although we allow new D3 Gold drivers to compete on a trial basis and evaluate them over time.

As a D2 driver you can join and watch instruction and warm up, but you can't participate in the D-League feature race, but you can watch or join if they are short drivers (<6) in which case it is unofficial. You can also join the sprints after the feature race.

All plans got mixed up, resulting that I will race tonight 👍

3D3 Main lounge open for practise now !!

Sorry guys, no racing for me tonight, as my backs acting - too much - up :(.

I hope you'll all enjoy .

Reset your ps3,Lefty,hope that will do the trick.

Apologize if some of you couldn't hear me today, my throat is gone.

If you're listening in directly from TV speakers, sometimes the engine noise drowns out the mic chatter. Turn down engine noise in the options on the main screen to help with that.

Race is started, much conection problems but we have 10 racers on track.:)

has anyone ever seen that glitch that i had before i seriously thought i was going nuts really weird only seeing three cars and i didn't feel that i was bumping into people through my wheel

Sounds like the invisible driver glitch. If so, yes very common, these problems should be avoided during racing, best to ensure connections are all good prior to the event starting if possible.

i have a good connection was the first time i've seen it was maybe host but now i now just to leave and rejoin when it happens again.

This has nothing to do with having a good connection or not.
Two guys with a good connection can have these issues with eachother. It's more like their routers/modems fighting with eachother, ending up in ignoring eachother. This can be fixed with putting your PS3 on DMZ in your router/modem but it's not a 100% garanteed it'll work.

PS: Please try and use the proper capitalisation at the beginning of a sentence and on 'I' when referring to yourself. 👍

For sure strange situation, luckily Frank saw the answer in doing a restart.
It did not occur to me you could not see cars in front off you.

My my, what a close finish! 👍

Congrats Lefty! And to Majed and Skillz on the podium. Any race stories as it looks like an interesting race? DZ on pole and best lap!

The host can actual impact the invisible driver situations as far as I understand. When a driver first connects to the room the host is needed in order to make connections between the driver and every other driver in the room... This establishes a web. During this time if there is a problem with the connection between the new driver and host OR the new driver and another driver there can be issues like invisible cars. This is why we only allow tested and official room hosts for our events... Not that we never have issues.

Speedy is right though... The culprit much of the time is a faulty router that doesn't implement UPnP properly and blocks information coming from another driver. A DMZ will bipass the router and usually fix this (but not always). Hey it's the Internet, we are thousands of miles apart and sometimes it's a miracle this works at all.

It's been a long while since I raced online w/ GT5 because my connection was week. I recently found out that all I had to do is give them more money and they could make the connection stable enough to handle VOIP so I went for it and Wha-Lah I can race GT5 on line again :) and especialy after I found out that GTA will soon be here I started scrambling to gather all the experience I could find. So this seemed like a great place to splash around. I did the 3D3 race w/ the rocket ships and the tire ware varriable w/ my brake peddle deciding to have a mind of it's own, my night wasn't the best but the race program here was great.

Everyone in the lobby was first class and the care that was take to get it right was the best 👍 I can't remember who it was that I was stalking the whole race (Skillz, DZ, mj) but that was so much fun having someone in my view that was close to my skill level and to be able to apply the right amount of pressure brought great memories of when I raced (moto-x) in classes that were ability baised.

This was the first time that I have experienced online racing the way it should be. In the past I tried to get that point across and I always ended up racing rocket ships and struggled and w/ my bogus connection being so bad I just had to give it up. This program is the keystone to racing period and should be built apon. This is the foundation to a graduation system of racing that has the potential to build big race weekends around, w/ the winners graduating up to the next higher class and as in my case I would have gone into the B main and raced against D2 level competitors who would be waiting for our C main to finish. Food for thought :dunce:

Thanks again to everyone who showed up and anyone who didn't you missed a real barn burner :)

Lefty your ideas make sense and don't think we haven't had them ourselves... When we have 10-15 max sign ups per week there is no way to do divisional racing... It takes 24+ at minimum. Three aliens in one room isn't much fun either.

GT6 may be a new ball game. We have been recruiting drivers like crazy, developing all sorts of new events: parity, academy, F1, Saturday attack, and more to come you guys haven't seen. Our goal is to offer a menu of online events like no other so that there is no choice... If you want the best online racing with the most variety you must race in the WRS. I think we have the team to pull that off and if we succeed we will see magic when the hoards arrive after GT6 is released. Time will tell, but based on our recent growth I suspect we are on the right track!

Your the best "W" :) I apriciate it and now that I have a real connection I can start playing again. Everyone here is so energetic about this stuff it's like a drug

Racing yesterday against others in my Division was what I'm all about. The parity racing seems like it's worth taking a look at but that race yesterday was nervana. I felt that it didn't matter where I started I though that I had a chance just by being pared up against others in my skill level and beleve me I'm right whare I'm at for a reason, that's because I'm only so fast in this type of enviroment. I've been here so long that if someone gets past me you are definitely a division higher racer  I feel like the D3 standard barrier :banghead:

I just can't wait for GT6 to get here and what the possibilities might be. Keep up the great work, like they say "Build it and they will come" but watch out what yah wish for......

Totally forgot to ad this to the results :)

Kinda tradition.👍

My view from the back :)

I thought I was fast-ish, so I expected to drive at least decently. And I did...for the first 8 laps. I even managed to move up from 10th to 7th place (thanks to other drivers' mistakes). Then things started going south. I began missing my brake point going into turn 8, heating up my tires, and sliding out. After 2 laps of that I was back in 10th, but I was at least catching up to the back of the pack...until the turn 8 tunnel.

Though completely out by then, I kept going. Then around lap 14, the front of the pack started catching up behind me. Now it was a race to not get lapped (which I lost in lap 17). But the funniest thing was that the three laps I ran while trying not to be lapped were also the fastest laps I ran in the entire race. So, you know, silver linings...

Big thanks to all at the Academy for properly schooling me. I hope to only learn from all my abject failures. And a special shout-out to Remo and Lefty for essentially running chase drills with me after the race. It was greatly appreciated.

See you all next saturday!👍
