Ok, never mind. I was told in the Main Lounge that you need to do the Top Gear challenges to unlock the track. I only made this GTP account like three weeks ago and hadn't done any of the challenges yet. Did them on my main account months ago.
Did I mention how much I hate how the AI drivers cheat? I breathe on a cone or bump an AI's vehicle and I'm DQ'd but the AI plow through cones like a combine harvester in wheat and slam into me without any penalty. In the intermediate race with the 111R I passed a car on the right before Gambon only to have that car lose it and skid, slamming me in the side getting ME DQ'd. Had enough of that! Got the track unlocked and now I can at least fine tune this car without subjecting others to my horrible driving.

I've got the car of my choice down as well: the Lotus Esprit Turbo HC '87. Real old skool Esprit, with the BBS alloys and soft suspension. I'll leave it stock and tune the power to laptime specification. Seems to be somewhere around 150 bhp. It's a hoot to drive

That was SOOO much fun! Honestly that's the most fun I've had so far racing online. I got 5th, 7th, and 3rd when we had 10 drivers and finally the win on our last official with 9 drivers. After my horrible showing this morning in the Everybody's Golf rookie event, getting punted off track a couple of times and ending near the rear of the pack I was really down and out but this event renewed my driving love in short order. Thanks so much to everyone who participated!
Could someone post an NTSC replay of the race where I finished 7th (I think it was the second race) as I forgot to get a demo for that one? I've got the other three demos though so I only need that one. I'm trying to keep a record of all the events I participate in.

Great racing yesterday! Had some great battles with Will and Sark and more. The Lotus performed well. It wasn't particularly fast in the corners or on the straight but a good allrounder once you get the hang of the enormous weight transfer you get into the corners. Brake balance 7/5 certainly helped. Looking forward to this afternoon

Tim, I went in to put in my final specs for the car for your records, but its saying "oops, this form isn't taking responses any more" or something like that. My specs are: 412pp, 211hp, 1264kg, comfort med tyres, top speed 108mph. Perhaps you can just manually put them in for me if thats easier for you?
