I can't seem to get other peoples' replays onto my PS3 correctly. I've saved the replay, unzipped it, and copied it over to my USB stick into the PS3 folder (which didn't work, the replay was not in my saved data) and I've also tried just saving it to the main part of the USB stick and the replay still wasn't in my saved data...

You do know once the replay is on the USB drive and attached to your PS3 you still have to copy those replays to the PS3 hard drive. Only then can you start up GT5 and import the replays. You can't import in GT5 directly from the USB drive.

Yes, they are not showing up on my USB stick, so I'm assuming that I'm not doing something correctly on the PC end of it...

Is your PC recognizing the USB? If it does, does it have a clear path? {meaning, the folder seems to be the problem, not the data.} Do you have the necessary folder that Speedy mentioned?

Hey guys:tup:

It's been a while since I last competed in the WRS, I made the stupid mistake of rushing through the career on my GTP account as I didn't want the hassle of switching accounts to do different things on the game. I have done nothing other than let my B spec driver run the seasonal events to earn the easy credits

I am really struggling to even want to play any game at the moment but love GT and want to get back into it, everyday I think to myself that I must get on GT and find something fun to do to get me out of this phase, unfortunately this never seems to happen as the career seems to have killed me :ouch:

I take it many of you guys have been through a similar experience where you struggle to want to play the game after having played it for many months, this happens to me with all racing but I do normally end up playing the game again rather quickly.

This time though it's probably been close to a month that I haven't played the game for any length of time and I am puzzled as to why, especially with my recently purchased CSR setup, you would think this would be enough to get me playing again:crazy:

Like I said I take it most of you have experienced this where you take an extended break from the game.

What did you guys do to get the enthusiasm back to play GT again?

Sorry for the long post :sly:

This is a cry for help :(:D

I was having the same problems too in the first mid of 2011. Since then my GT5 disc has been stuck in the PS3 :mischievous:
I was having a full month out playing other games(Nba-pes-TS4)(non-racing) and then coming back one moment back to it like it was new :sly:

Plato, just take as long break as feels right. I've had many breaks longer than 2months and the spark has always came back. You just don't want to push it. After all, we're doing this to enjoy ourselves, so keep that in mind and you'll get back to it sooner rather than later 👍

Kelvin, my breaks are enforced so I'm always chomping at the bit to get back. Appreciate it's different for everyone though.

Remember it's supposed to be fun

Thanks for the comments guys

As for Speedy I see he is very good at promoting WRS/3D3, very often when I see Speedy's name pop up in a thread there seems to be a link in his posts to get others to join :sly:

Thanks for the offer of the online events Speedy, hopefully soon I will feel like taking part in everything again:tup:

Normally when i'm like this I will find another game to play to keep me occupied, not the case this time though, it's as if I have lost interest in games all together. I know though that this will not be the case and hopefully I can get myself back to enjoying the game again soon :)

Haha, lol yeah.
I think I had about everybody from the WRS now.

Take your time for the break mate. I had about the same after I finished on my main account. Joined here then and I was back on the tracks. :)

You'll feel like racing again soon, just don't force yourself.

 more by luck than judgement. Just happened to be surfing in an afternoon break and went into the lastest discussion thread and two minutes beforehand this guy had posted the pictures that seemed to good to be anything other than real. Me and a couple of others kicked it around for 5 minutes until we all came to the conclusion they were real, so I shot a PM off to Jordan with the link - hey presto, I'm famous

Hey Jon! Can I get your autograph?

I just wanted to be the first that asked!!

Just a random posting...

Matt (Millross / GTP_Insatiable) and I have been pretty much neck and neck since I started here in the WRS in wk8. We both started in D3 and we are now both D2 silver. Some time ago, I started to make a little chart comparing our submissions each week, and have updated it for each event thereafter. It went quiet after wk29 as we both were otherwise engaged, but after wk46 and now the results for wk48 I have updated again.

Note that I have omitted wk14 as a statistical outlier due to the length of the track.

So wk14 aside, after 34 minutes and 7 seconds of total lap time, we are...

...wait for it...

...0.035 seconds apart

When I'm (really) bored, I might add up the lap lengths

Are there any other two drivers that are so close after 21 weeks of competition? Matt is beating me 11-10 in results, but I'm the one that is 0.035 ahead :sly: (for now)

Just thought some strange souls might find that interesting

👍 Nothing more fun then an extended and close friendly rivalry.

Kenny (01GTP) and I were like that back in the GT4 WRS days. I never added it up over time, but we were always duking it out.

Definitely makes things more interesting. 👍

I have a few purple helmets, but purple race suits have been eluding me to date.

Does anyone have a purple race suit that they would care to send to me?

I'd be glad to send whatever you request (that's possible to send) in return. I have all the cars, lots of paint, lots of museum cards. You get the idea. ;)

I just wanted to try here before venturing into the GT5 trading forum. :scared:

I got all suits and helmets Kevin.
Will have a look and send you all the stuff that's purple.
Free of 'charge'. ;)

If any desired gears are left to send to Kevin after Chris's generous offer I'd be glad to send them to him :D

No WRS for me for the foreseeable future. I vowed to, once and for all, do the Vettel Challenge and not drive anything else in GT5 until I golded all three. I hate the bloody thing and once I've done it I promise I will never ever drive the Red Bull again. It's not racing and I'm probably too old, my reflexes are simply not fast enough for it.   :banghead: :banghead:

At least I'm done with The Ring and Monza.

I'm not really looking forward to those, as I am more than probably too old...

But I have been going back to some special events lately to try to gold them, and I was finally able to gold for the Tuscan night event (in the Grand Tour). That was a toughy! Those who got that one a long time ago should go back to it, as it was changed and made tougher in version 1.06 or 1.07.

I did the Chamonix event recently as well. Of course, the recent TT helped a lot with that, but I found the car in the event very hard to drive at first, until I changed one of the RA settings (not sure what it's called, the one that divides power between front and rear wheels, I set it to 50/50 and it was a lot better). I was a bit surprised that I got gold right away on my first complete run, as I saw Loeb's ghost cross the line as I was just going around the last turn.

I was also able to gold all of the Super License last week, although I have several other licenses with only silver that I might still have a hard time golding. It seems I perform better when I have something to catch up to, rather than just running against the clock. It motivates me more, I guess.

But the important thing is that I realized, going back to all those events, that my short time in WRS has improved my skills quite a bit. I must say, though, that I am not at all pleased with my recent performances in WRS. Maybe the trick would be more, but shorter, sessions. I'll give that a try and we'll see...

There's a very good tutorial somewhere here on the forum.
I was about to give up on it, 'till I found it.
It's a complete guide through and it helped me to improve and gold them all three.
I'll try and find it again this evening.
