Since I can't race, how about a WRS-members Superbowl predictionometer.

I'm going with the Giants. 28-24

C'mon man!! Pats 28-17.

Patriots defense has been under siege from the press around here. And the Giants QB proclaimed himself as an "Elite" QB earlier this season. With two weeks to prepare, and all the hype about the Giants defense, I think the Patriots defense wants to prove something!

Pierre-paul is gonna smash it!

Looking forward to watching it tomorrow....its on too damn late!

Pierre-Paul is amazing. That whole Giants defense is scary. But it has been prone to mistakes.
I think the Patriots score one special teams touchdown. One defensive team touchdown. One offensive touchdown. And a field goal.
The special teams touchdown and a field goal in the first half. The Giants get a field goal off a Patriots turnover.
Halftime score is 10-3.
In the third quarter, the Patriots get a defensive teams touchdown. In the fourth, Brady throws to a TE for the game clincher!
I make this prediction because I think the coaching advantage goes to the Patriots. If Tom Coughlin coaches a better game, then just switch the names around!
Since both my wife and I are both Buffalo Bill fans, we don't have a dog in the race. We don't want Patriots because they beat us in the regular season. We don't want Giants because they beat us in a Super Bowl.
I personally think that the Myra Kraft angle makes a nice story.

Is there a football game today?

Al

Yep there was, and it was quite good. Chelsea was three up at half time but ManU clawed it back and DeGea made a miracle save in overtime to split the points.

What Ibra did in the Milan-Napoli game is best not mentioned.

Giants will win. There, I said it.

Was such a good save, going to watch the highlights in a min on Match of the Day 👍

Got my TV repaired, thank god. Can actually see what's going on now without squinting but more importantly.....WRS...WRS....WRS

After a few days of not racing and a bit of Forza, I felt well out of form in the Mazzer....gotta put in some more hours, time to brew coffee, buy foam.... follow Chuk's lead.......some new capacitors have turned racing off into racing on!

Speaking of foam. Chuk -- did you post pics of your mod? I'm thinking I want to try something with my T500 brake pedals and the included mod just isn't working for me. Not to mention the tension spring broke and I've been driving with floppy brakes for 2+ weeks while waiting for support to send me the fix.

No, I haven't. Neither Kenny nor I had a smartphone yesterday. He didn't bring his camera either. I will call him after dinner and ask him to do that.

The timing couldn't be better, really, because I've found a new foam. I was using a solid foam block that was a little denser than a kitchen sponge. I was cleaning out my garage today when I found a piece of foam insulation that they put around water pipes. It's hollow. When I picked it up, I squeezed it, and I immediately thought of "progressive" braking.

Because it's hollow, the first compression is easy, and keeps getting harder. This piece is for a 1/2 inch diameter pipe, so that is the inside diameter of my foam. The outside diameter is 1 1/2".

So now, my pedal is stiff enough to not engage unless I need it, but at exactly 50% of brake power applied, the pressure doubles. It takes a sincere effort to use more than 70% of the brake now. The first compression is also perfect for those subtle toe touches that set the nose without losing speed.

My wife is testing it on High Speed Ring with the Alfa. She says its perfect. You can't argue with a woman! :)

Ok fellow WRSers.... Wife is going to buy me a wheel and stand for valentines!!!

I think just the dfgt And wheel stand pro.

Maybe one day I will upgrade. But at least the dfgt is a wheel that obviously works as many guys here run it!

Justin

The DFGT is a perfectly adequate wheel, and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I'm still driving with my trusty old DFP! I'm using foam to stiffen the pedals though.
The stiffer pedals make it easier to modulate the throttle and/or brake. But more importantly, I think, is that they RELEASE the pedals faster. It has helped me get about one second quicker on most tracks! :)

Chuk what kind of foam are ya using?

I planned on opening up the pedals and messing with the spring but I would rather not!

I'm currently testing three foams. Two are solid blocks of different density foam. The softer one I'm using for my gas pedal. It's the same density of a kitchen sponge, relatively soft. I want just enough resistance on the gas to let me moderate the throttle without making me push hard all the time.

The brake pedal is a different animal. I want a brake pedal that's stiff, so that braking becomes a conscious effort. So I started with a dense packing foam, like what they ship electrical components in. It was too stiff, really. I couldn't push the brake all the way down without almost standing on it. The hollow foam is much better.
