TCS 0 ABS 1 BB 5/5. After a few laps, I got to the point where I can get a clean one about half the time. After getting clean laps most of the time, I'll start to look for places where I can push a bit. I'm starting to enjoy this combo already! Great choice, Chris!

For those who are struggling with braking, especially into Turn 1:

- Turning up the ABS does help. I tried it with ABS 10 yesterday and, while it didn't decrease the braking distance, it did almost completely cut out the left/right veering it does under braking;
- Brake bias of 5/5 works effectively. I tried 7/6 and it did reduce the braking distance slightly.

The ABS settings and b/b differences probably need more experimentation but I am way too inconsistent with that car to be able to test them properly. Frankly, I spent more time trying to stop it spinning and on track than actually setting times....having said that, it slides through the second lesmo when I throw it at the corner (in fact, for me, inducing a slide there was the quickest way through it for me.....and it handles it really well without the slightest hint of spinning the tyres...weird:confused:). I might have another crack at it later in the week if I am feeling brave (or stupid...depending on how you view it lol). It's cars like this that make me wish for a wheel and pedals

For me honestly it helps if I downshift really early and have the car bouncing off the limiter while decelerating, keeps the car more planted slowing down. Running 5/3 and ABS 1.

Good news, hopefully same will be true for car-supplied seasonals.
Has anyone verified if same for License tests/Coffee Break Drift events?

I tried a BB of 6/4, which is sort of my go-to-balance and it seemed to help the....I shall call it "brake wiggle". :sly: I may try a 6/3 next run and see what happens.

Of course, it has to warm up before I go back down to the basement. Polar vortex my 🤬! :banghead:

About the wheels deadzone; yes it seems quite high. It's actually not that bad when I start playing, but about after maybe 30 minutes the wheel starts to "loosen up" and the deadzone grows too, I have no idea what's causing that. I just don't want to blame the wheel first as my driving skills are far from perfect too.

It's true that the car squirms under braking, but sorry it sounds to me like the motor in your wheel is dying. Electrical problems tend to get worse as temperature rises, like after 30 minutes of use. I think we can blame your wheel because after seeing your week 1 result I would argue that your driving skills are top notch. ;)

Just had another session and couldn't beat my best previous lap, but now that I'm on the registry I thought I'd repost my original splits so I could get on the leaderboard (albeit unspectacularly):

28.108
1'03.091

I can find 0.4'ish in T1 fairly safely but finding time anywhere else feels unsafe?!? If I get brave about when to step on the gas coming out of a corner I can be a little faster but then the likelihood of spinning increases

Yeah, it's tough getting a balance with this thing...I can be up on my best time and then completely blow it in the Parabolica when I apply too much gas. As I noted in a post earlier, Lesmo 2 is quicker for me if I slide the car into the corner (it straightens quicker) rather than precision all grip...but, if I try that anywhere else, the car ends up off track! My problem is the DS3 and having to use x/o buttons, difficult to get the power on slowly without losing traction

Early splits,

This thing is plenty fast. :) Doesn't stop very well for a car with carbon brakes.:scared:

Edit: Corrected split notation. Thanks Millross, I've been away too long.:dunce:

You are now my brother from another mother...I think us face-button DS3'ers a dying breed. I'm so old school I use the D-pad for steering AND I drive in exterior view...one day I'll update my driving style...the arthritis in my right thumb will make me at some point I suspect :sly:👍 (that thumb is proportionally correct after GT5 and GT6)

I'm also split posting again, fetchy doesn't appear to want to play fetch with me?!?

Really enjoying this one. Now I'm going round with just TC1 or 2. When I started I was all over the place with TC4.
Gently does it. Bit by bit. Learning the subtle touches of the gas instead of just ploughing it round. Great fun !

That second split will probably break the LB Blair - needs a single quote after the 1

Maybe Fetchy doesn't read 1.04 replays now? Its reply was weird enough (if I interpreted it correctly and the PSN id in the file was taken as "D").

I'm not quite that old school...I do use the thumbstick thingy (old school name for it lol) for steering and have managed to accept modern methods and use in-car view most of the time :P. I did try using L2/R2 for accel/brake for the S1 TT but, while it did make me quicker, it makes my hands ache something wicked (side effect of painkillers is joint aching) so had to go back to x/o. I need to see if I can find another controller that's more comfortable and may allow it.

Thanks for the add :)

Oh, I just got given a Trans Am '78 for my birthday :)

Using DS3 mostly this time around I think, qualified using the right stick to Accelerate/Brake (how I have for years on DS3) Switched to L2/R2 after reading some posts to give it a try, got used to it now but still feels strange.

Done a few laps, sub 1 minute over the T2 is possible i believe. Twissy will do that eventually but i can see it. Not putting mind up for a while but quick question.

Does it have to be courtesy car or can it be our own STOCK FXX (gone with matt black, pitty line stays) in arcade (bout ready for the online race next time.)

Just started with this combo. 5 laps down. Haven't cracked sector 1 chicane just yet but it wasn't very good on the best lap anyway. Second sector is decent though.
