On an unrelated note, feeling much more positive after some time away from GT. I was seriously bummed about last week's performance. I put more time into that lap than I ever had, it wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be, and was DQed anyway.

Yesterday I was thinking, "Bah. What's the point? I suck at this. It was stupid to think I could compete with the div4 podium winners."

Today I'm right back to a "Lemme at 'em!" mood. :D

...now if only the 13-hour days at work would let off, maybe I could actually try this combo...

(Also wouldn't hurt if some of you slowed down a bit...)

Wow, first off lots of fun and torture. After the stomach bug I had last week looking at my times isn't as nauseating! I have found several places it's safe to drop a tire or two off track and recover. But if you look at my times I would advise against it! I hope to get one more night in before we submit. I really like this one and wish I knew this track better.

One big tip I have is to use the fence along the right coming across the start finish to start slowing for the first turn, there is a gap about four tiles back that I find useful. Either brake right at the start of the gap or at the end depending on speed. And for the last turn once that big green box leaves your screen I find it's best to be at least 100mph and start to turn in to hit the apex at full throttle giving me 154+ across the start finish. Easier said than done though! I only got about 100 miles in before calling it quits, I really hope to get more time in and submit this week. Good luck everyone!

Hang in there ohitsyoubob. After a podium week one and barely on the boards since then I feel your pain! If only family, work, and life would let me put more time in!!

C'mon, you can do it..there are combos which fit your driving, some dont...

New best lap with the splits above. Better T1, quite bad T2 compared to my old one (nearly .3 slower sector), and a better T3 resulted in .1 improvement on the line.

Around .3 - .5 left in there for me, I guess I'll spend tomorrow trying to catch those last tenths.

Handing 8th spot on the board to @billyjoebobx , for now. ;)

Edit

Forget that, just realised I've been on the wrong tyres all this session (RH)

Must of used this car for some Career Mode races last time I was on.

Back to the drawing board.

That explains how you could jump from second last position to 7th... Sorry about that. :(

-6 tenths at the line with improvement on both splits :D

Looks like I have my work cut out to catch you tonight.
Well here we go, see you on the other side (of midnight) !!!

Hit the dirt on run up to start line, so did a couple of dozen doughnuts to placate my anger. Ahh that's better.

Some new splits for me

25.092
53.825

also another .2 at the line.

I think I can still drop my split times a little bit.

I really like this combo asspecialy because I still find room in my times.

If nothing else I am consistent once I have found 'my' line. Ican literally run 10 laps on the same second on the line. The problem is that I cannot do the same with tenths and hundreths.

Maybe a little bit of a suggestion..... try to stretch the track from outside to clipping point to entry position for the next turn and make the turn as big as possible. Insights from the peanut gallery :dunce:

Repost your old splits and Fetchy will sort out the leader board :)

Seeing .1s now thru T2, but mess them up in T3. These splits with my best T3 so far, got me .4 at the line. This is a tough track to figure out, makes it pretty interesting in figuring out the best way around.

Couldn't sleep, so decided to play some Gran Turismo!

Back from decent T1 and slowish T2 to the opposite. I seem to have learned something about T3 though, and got a nice .3 improvement on the line! Now if I could just connect a T2 like this to a .7 or .8 T1 I'd be a happy camper, but I doubt that'll happen.

Now I need to take a shower before I head back to bed. It's finnish winter and I'm sweating like ****, can't imagine what my WRS attempts will be like during summertime.

Well I've got to say that after years of Logitech gear, I'm now a fan of Fanatec. I got the package deal with pedals and shifters for $260, only $30 more than a G27. 👍

Last night I ran some more and found a little bit in T1 and T2, and finally a pretty decent run through T3. :)

I regard the third gear as mandatory in the first corner. That is, after trying 4th a couple of times.

Got a point nine faster T2 but then the rest didn't go spectacularly right. Anyway, new splits:

T1: 26.050
T2: 56.433

An improvement at long last - I think taking the Rocket round the 20miler here helped me find a better line in T2:

25.334
54.217

I have seen a 25.05x at t1 so I know I can do better there.

.450 over the line with these splits, so I'm glad to have broken down the wall that was blocking any improvement.

I'll continue on, hopefully I can get another couple tenths :scared: and be more competitive.

EDIT: Found another tenth at the line with better splits, but I'll not post in case I improve again - I don't want to triple post.

I did just see another 25.050 at T1 though, the fact that it happened again means I can hopefully string it together with good other sectors.

Anyway, here are my latest splits:

25.250
54.100

Seen another 25.049 followed by a 53.xxx but I messed up the T3. It's a good sign though, at least I know I can get a 53 I just need it to happen again.
