Tip for those who get 'blinded' by their own fastest times and blue numbers - turn the race display off (from the quick option menu). The game will still record your lap-times and you will still be able to save the fastest best lap.

Thanks dude. That's probably it for me, my third sector is pretty decent, I'm close enough to my ideal lap.

You're painfully close, I fear your sectors are exceptional and by the power of the Sith you shall overcome me. :nervous:
I feel a disturbance in The Forcefeedback. :dunce:

I subbed that lap, it was a 'one lap magic' I doubt after spending another 3 hours on the combo that I'd beat it.

@Gravitron - why have you or some other mod merged one of my posts with David's/ @nursemorph?

Urgh...this car is Public Enemy Number One!! I will honestly say I would rather drive the FXX for 24 hours round the Nurburgring than do one lap of Brand Hatch Indy with the Focus. I so wish SRF was allowed as it made the car fun to drive :(. Never mind, it has shown me that I am nowhere near as good with FF cars as I thought I was. Did 40 laps earlier with various tunes and adjustments, including the tune I set my best Leaderboard time but cannot get close today. Might try a few more laps and see but am submitting my current best lap...am far from happy with it but have reached my limit. Will just wait for the next TT.

Any tips on T2 would be appreciated! Thanks

I wrote this about the first corner in T2 a few pasts back:
That corner (Graham Hill Bend) is tough! I struggle through there 3 laps out of 4.

I get more consistent as I lap, and these are my references:
  • Up to 4th out of Druids
  • Look for the tire "rubber" on entry. There is a patch to the right of centre just before the curbing on the right side. My early tendency is to brake just after, but as I lap I lift BEFORE it and downshift to 3rd (not 2nd as I find it overflows the car and it just slides sideways...)
  • Turn in just past the start of the right side curbing. It's best if I can just touch it, but getting too far on kicks the rear end out. Often I just miss it.
  • I stay off the throttle until I KNOW I can just touch the inside curb, then balanced throttle until I KNOW I can make the exit clean. It's slightly downhill so it amplifies the understeer, staying off throttle a little longer on entry helps turn a bit better in my opinion.
  • @doodlemonoply tune is really touchy on entry here (if you are using it). It allows the car to turn much more aggressively, but the tires will not take it and slide abruptly sideways mid corner. To me this was too unpredictable and one of the main reasons I went away from it. My skill set is not up to that level of control!
Don't get discouraged here. T2 is deceptively technical :boggled:

EDIT: OK, I found it! Graham Hill Bend was modified in 1999 to it's current configuration. It used to be much faster and the Cooper straight had a lot more of a bend to it. The old one is the one I remember from my time in the UK ('91-'95).

As for the last two corners of T2:
  • Approach in 4th gear
  • For Surtees (the left), I put two wheels slightly on the right curbing on entry. I have a small lift as I'm turning in, backing off to no less than 50% throttle. On a good lap I can stay on about 70-80%. I try to place JUST the left wheels on top of left curb at the apex. I don't try overly hard but it is best to get on the curb a bit. By the time I'm at the apex, I'm back to full throttle.
  • The approach to Macleans (the right) is a result of how smoothly I carved Surtees, but on most laps the car is still pushing and it is a quick flick of the wheel to transfer the weight to the left. I'm aiming for the apex with the left wheels (both rights well into the grass). The braking point for clear ways is in there too, right around where the left wheels are just coming off the apex curbing in Macleans.
Hope this helps a bit :)

Thank you :D
I am not satisfied with my T2... Would like it to be 36.xxx... I want to beat the tarmac into Micky  :P

Not sure if you break.. before the fast left corner.. just before the end of T2.. If so.. don't.. stay as far to the right as you can.. and turn in a little before the second marker board.. you may have to lift a little.. but there is no need to break.. until just passing the end of S2 before the right hander.. anyway.. that's how I take that corner..

Now.. dont tell Micky.. :P

In my case I found the reason - I was running with standard gearbox. :D - I still like your tune best, so I am keeping it

@Gravitron Or other Mod: The OP says that 6-speed transmission is ALLOWED - does that mean STANDARD transmission is prohibited?
Yes, you have to use the 6 speed. If Standard was allowed we would have said so.

Can you please stop double and triple posting? The only time that's allowed is when you're trying to get Fetchy to see new splits.

Well I finally decided to order the Clubsport wheel after a few days torturing myself just by looking at it all the time :D
Honestly can't wait for it to arrive as my old wheel which is about 2 and a half years old was starting to show signs of wear and tear.

I currently have the CSR wheel, the d-pad on it has been broken for a long time so I have problems navigating menus and changing settings. The design quality of that d-pad was very poor to begin with in my opinion anyway.

I just hope all the rumours are true and that my new wheel will be compatible with the PS4 for when GT7 comes out. :scared:

Hopefully get to spend some time on the next WRS event as I would of thought it would arrive before the end of next week, I did only order tonight though so could be wrong.

Sorry to hijack this thread, will post picks of my setup when it arrives

My submission is in, doubt I will get a chance to do another go. Good Luck everyone :)

Yes. @Gravitron - and I am sorry for double and triple posting. There is very good reason I do so - I use my phone for internet, and it won't let me see an entire post when it gets very long, as it does with several quotes. I apologize to the Forum, and will restrict my posting to only splits in the future. I assume that will solve the problem.

Can you see the Edit button in the lower right of your posts from your phone?

You don't need to post "just splits" you can type just as much as you have been, but please use the Edit button if you think of something else to add and no one else has yet posted. 👍

Silly question, with the custom wheels, does it matter the size?
Any size will do. 👍

No! Keep up the banter. Forum would be boring without it.

Oops, now I'm doing it. Sorry. Too eager with my reply.
