Your guys' avatars keep making me thing someone triple posted

I'll be doing some more laps on this one today, I got a little improvement the other day with 4/6 BB *shrug* I think I'll try 6/8 and see if I can shrink the brake zones some more, but I think it's when/how I start to release the brake that deals the most damage against my ghost line.

Jerome

Hi Jerome. You are aware that our avatar has nothing to do with the Team Trials and is just a way for us to irritate the moderators?

As to the brake bias, I have found that putting anything more than 6 on the rear (using ABS 1) makes the car started veering on braking, much like the FXX. Also, it tends to start sliding when I release the brake and start turning. Maybe you will have more luck with it but I found it too unstable.

@Nemo Niente: Brake bias of 0/2 you say? Interesting...may have to give that one a go 👍

@MisterWeary : Yeah, I can imagine it is a good way to unwind. I don't have the problem of work being a factor as I can't work so I do the time trials for something to do with my time..hence why I spend so much time on them

Well, it worked on my best lap, but as I said, haven't been able to repeat - I since changed to 1/2 (after trying all the aliens' BB :D) so don't come at me with a tire iron if you crash...👍

Why has my division icon not been changed? Micky's has, and he is just above me on the LB?

Looking for 0.15 in sector 1, ~0.15 in sector 2 and matching my final sector... nearly had a lap with a .189 T2 but spun it in the last corner trying to keep ahead :indiff:

Repost your splits and I think it will show the updated division. 👍
Ok, thanks :D

@Gravitron - It worked 👍

I fix one corner, just to go off track (major off) in the next.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :grumpy:
I doubt I will ever be able to get the sand out of my underwear, especially since Micky (@mickyevs) insists on making those giant castles up close to the road at inconvienent intervals...

@Nemo Niente : I tried the 0/2 brake bias and that really is a bad brake bias for this car. I tried a few combinations of lower numbers but 5/5 is, pretty much, the optimum bias for this car. 4/6 works to an extent and I can get within half a second of my best time with that (but I think my best time was a fluke anyway) and am on a par with the rest of my times.

uhu. figures... :(

I just did my first session on this TT. As I expected, it was tons of fun. For being a RUF, it is relatively easily to get around the track properly, but getting it around fast is certainly not easy, and it requires skill to master.

Had do to quite a lot of laps to get a clean one. I was doing mistakes like turning the wheel too much while lifting off on entry, causing me to rotate to early and cut the corner, and also getting on the throttle too early while turning the wheel too much. Lines where not optimal, at least in first curvy section and the hairpin, and with some twitches while exiting slower turns while on the throttle.

Time's been taken up with schtuff at work this week and the wife wants me to possibly make an HTPC as our Roku won't play video files very well : /

Hopefully I'll have time this weekend 👍

Muito Obrigado @Serialf !! Thank's a lot!! That´s it... let´s take good times and put the pedal to the metal on Div4 whether speaking English or Portuguese!! :)

Trying to improve my time right now and later first F-1 Practice Session of the year!

Yup, I can speak Portuguese. Probably better than I can drive a Ruf.

EDIT: I would never buy one of these cars in real life if they handle the same way as in the game. To me they feel like they would be more dangerous to drive than other sports cars.

 Maybe the real reason Porsche won't give PD a license is that they think they'd never sell a car after the sim experience

I finally had a chance to try this one out last night. It took a a few laps to get a feel for the RUF. BB 3/5 seems to give me enough control to keep this baby in line, but I haven't mess with it too much.

There's definitely more time to find. It seems that the RUF likes a little gas going through corners. Whenever I back off the throttle completely through the hairpins I inevitably oversteer, but if I give it about half throttle through the turn, the tires magically become stickier. I think it also helps get to full throttle sooner, coming out of the turn.
