Hmmm. Middle sector - good. First sector - bad; losing 9 tenths.

It's one of those situations where you're lapping with a few setup changes, and each time hit the same split time! (I keep hitting T1: 55.0 even with very different toe/gear ratios)

Maybe I need to attack Degner a bit more, especially Degner II - more of a slingshot needed. But not going to get 9 tenths!

It's good 2 be back! Leg is better (mostly). Just got back from a short vacation. Wish I could of raced last week. Looked like fun & there was a great turn out for it. Suzuka is the course I need the most work on for sure.

1st attempt
56.173
1'42.366

56.038

T2 1'41.367

Don't think it moves me anywhere. Always at the bottom of Div 2, looks like my spot. :indiff:

Sorry Porsche :D

Sorry, Earth :dopey:

55.096
1:40.518

Still some work to do in the second sector, I can't get hairpin and spoon right on the same lap.

T1: 51.158
T2: 1'40.436

T1: 55.158
T2: 1'40.436

 this is good fun in D2

EDIT: 55 not 51. A 90 minute session can mess with you. TLD Setup is for Fuji but Im going to stay with it no changes need ill handling cars to improve skill. Made 3rd and 4th longer was hitting limiter in bad spots

D2 seems to be very competitive, and I'm in the middle of it. :D That's a good placement for me.

I've already started noticing some improvement on my laps at Suzuka, especially when I use other cars at the track now. Running 2:02 laps in that 700PP race with the 350Z now when I was 1-2 seconds slower before this WRS.

Still working on my tune. :yuck:

T1: 0'54.866
T2: 1'40.097

T1: 0'54.699
T2: 1'40.017

Made a half decent tune, my first time tuning properly myself on GT5P
I've set it up pretty sweet but I dont have as much traction out the corners as I would like.
Room for improvement, especially last sector & to the line I left a couple of tenths at least in sector 2 & about a second to the line.
I'm getting my wheel this week so these may be my best times as I'll be getting used to a wheel.

55.711
1'41.928

No TVR will have the traction out the corner you want!

Even if there was R4 tires they would still smoke them :yuck:
They are good to learn better throttle control though.
Can't wait for my G25 to turn up. I've managed to get good control with "X" after all the years on GT4 though but I'll have way more control with the G25 (I hope lol)

Everytime I get a really good lap started, someone has to distract me. :banghead:
New Splits:
T1: 55.109
T2: 1'40.960

Man, I get frustrated by doing this, I think I'm losing hair!! As soon as I manage to do a "quick" T1, I mess up that damn hairpin, or if I do a crappy T1, I do the hairpin damn near perfect. :grumpy:

Then again, even my quick T1 is slow compared to you guys. I hate tuning. :yuck:

I worked on this off and on durring the day today, nothing great as I can see another .5 total but not bad for a slacker.

54.461 / 1'39.938

Bad hairpin and average finish.

Good to hear that 👍. Hopefully we continue to make progress

I have the same problems, except I'll either get a perfect first half of the lap and screw up everything passed Spoon.

So, anyone willing to share a tune with a very out of practice driver? :D

I'm certainly having feet of clay after three months of not once starting up the PS3

Managed a faster lap but I cut Degner 2. :guilty:

Slight improvement to my previous time, and clean lap too.

T1: 55.133
T2: 1'40.724

I think I might have about 2-3 tenths in T1 if I could get through the S curves perfectly.

Just had a quick second session and i'm happy with my gearing now. Still havent touched the suspension though, i swear this TVR is trying to kill me! Its so skitish!! Fighting fighting fighting, all the way around the lap. Brilliant fun but it isnt quick.

Most are using Paulie's tune that's 650PP. Just need to bump the power to max and hop in. 👍

Hmmmm.. I forgot to check the tuning section fot this week. I might 'borrow' paulies suspension work :sly:

Oh yeah,.. new splits with improved gearing:

T1: 55.415
T2: 1'41.009

Tire heat is simulated I'm 100% sure now. Car has much less understeer and oversteer through the esses if you run a whole lap first. I was running 55.2s and 3s through T1 by just restarting right before the final chicane.

When I started running laps in succession i started hitting 55 flats and 54.9s even with a sloppy T1.

I think it takes half a lap for the tires to warm up but its definitely modeled. Not sure why PD would add tire heat simulation and not even mention it anywhere. No wonder my fastest Fuji lap from week 93 was a 2nd lap....

Can't say that I agree with you since my experience has been different. I've been able to match my best T1s within 1 lap of starting up the PS3 on a number of occasions.

In 3 years of Prologue I can't say I've ever noticed any evidence of tyre heat or a lack of first lap performance.

I am certain it is more down to a drivers' own mind, body, reflexes etc adjusting to the demands again.

EDIT: An example I guess would be if I exit the free run to save my replay and view it to make sure it is clean. If I then immediately go back to online free run, I don't need to do a whole lap before the car behaves properly again, because I believe...and it is just my opinion...that my reflexes etc are already in the right zone to produce a similar lap from the get-go.

All the best

Synwraith, do you run your TTs by running laps in succession or do you restart every time you make a mistake?

It looks like to me it takes maybe half a lap for them to heat up. I just got done running about 25 straight T1s or about 30 minutes straight of restarting laps only to get nothing better then a 55.150, but when I started running laps in succession the 55.0xxs and 54.9xxs or on average 3 or 4 tenths faster T1s started dropping in with relative ease. I dont think this is a case of me just being warmed up by having a whole lap behind me. The car has less understeer and oversteer.

I didn't notice much of a difference after T1, so I think it takes a half a lap for the tires to reach optimum performance.

And its still bothers me my fastest week 93 time was on one of the extremely rare 2nd laps I tried in succession.

I do both, to be honest. And I think both methods have their benefits and drawbacks. I sometimes run lap after lap because it helps me develop a rhythm. Sometimes I ruin a lap because I have restarted so many times before T1 (for whatever reason, and it's usually a driver error, nothing to do with the car), that if I do a good T1 and get to T2 since I haven't driven T2 for many a lap I am more prone to driver error in T2 etc.

Both methods have led to me producing best laps in the past. The very latest splits I have posted are from a session full of restarts. I had checked a replay, had a short break then decided to do maybe 10 more laps just to see if I could put it all together. Usually if I am not level/ahead of my ghost out of turn 1, I restart. So I hit restart, beat my ghost to turn 1, and then T1..T2..T3, lap achieved 👍 Throughout all of my sessions, I have not noticed any discernable difference in first lap grip.

Having said that, there's still 0.2 left on the table :)

All the best

Here are my splits after a couple of training sessions:

T1: 54.409
T2: 1'39.439

I still lose too much time in T3 and the hairpin.

edit: new splits, biggest improvement is in T3 though.

T1: 54.400
T2: 1'39.358
