regarding my battle at 4pm my time....i did not notice i actually have a battle today

i am actually at work right now and i can get on the earliest of 5:15pm......or it has to be tommorow.

i know this is very unreasonable of me but there is nothing i can do about work. hopefully this is not too much of a hassle thanks

EDIT: i just managed to switch my work shift to close an hour early with a co-worker, so lets keep it as the appointed schedule.

You didn't have to do that lol... I'll try my best but if I'm not there could you either save the replay or screen record it. I couldn't make you're time knight_spirit as I had to leave early to go to my local drag racing club & help set up for today's event

So 1 mistake from each of them but kaizer got closer then... ;)
Nah if there cool with the result then that's all that matters.

The only reason I gave the win to Keisu was because SKR had a couple of wheel off which in this tournaments rules were not accepted. The extremely minor things added up :( still an amazing battle

actually, this is one thing i wanna discuss about

First of, if the judges decided to call a "one more time", that means the first run doesn't count anymore, we shouldn't use it for reference for the next run.

Second, i personally suggest to reduce the wheel off rule a little bit. During my lead run of the "one more time", i had my right rear wheel off at the entry of second turn, that's the "grass initial" which is a technique often used by D1 drivers, I don't see how it causes me mark deduction. At the second turn, i had my front left wheel touched the grass, that where the judges should deduct the score, but that's the only time i mistakenly hit the grass through the whole run(including the next chase run).

Keisu's mistakenly hit my rear and strighten up at the second turn during that run, in real life, strighten up during a drift will get a straight zero, i believed the judges didn't saw that? I was watching my rear at the race and the replay showed it too.

Getting close to the opponent during chasing is very important too, right now what i sees is only "mark deduction/disadvantage"(mistake) but no "mark increase/gain advantage"(aggression, precise), in other word, it's almost like "You win because you didn't screwed up", but not about the styling, technique, and how spectacular the driver did.

However, don't worry, I'm not hoping to have any result changes this time, this is just a fun competition right? What i said is just a rule suggestion for the judges to think of for the next competition.

Theyre still learning to judge, the next competition might be better but i don't suspect by too far of a margin, but better.

Even on my run i have no clue how i scored 1 point when i was almost touching you the entire time, regardless of my angle.

But i understand what your talking about, as far as your run.

I understand what it is and yes i accept that it is a rule in proper D1, but in the rules that were laid down at the start of the competition did not imply that a grass initial would be legal. Sorry mate you had a great run.

poorly regulated, poorly organized and takes about forever to get things settled

a competition time that is set but not met, no opponent nor judges. i am not impressed

About SKR's battle, you say he lost due to having 3 wheels off, the 0-10 rule is all four wheels...

This battle has become a mess, but I still want dino to make sure this one finishes smoothly, and maybe sort things out before thinking about the next one.

Maybe hand over management to someone else if you can't meet judging times.

Chris.

Hmm a bit harsh you guys...

I didn't have a problem yet with times and no judges being there.
You all take it a bit too much serious now.

The thing about Kaizer is personal taste for alot of us, but it seems we all agree it has been misjudged, in one way or another. And like Kaiser sais, i use alot of drifts starting with one wheel in grass or something to aim for to end up with your back outer wheel when you come out of corners.

This isn't a big deal per se. It's a learning path for the organiser too...
give all some room etcetera...

edit: @Chris, exactly!

dont call it a comp when it's not takened seriously, call it a random drift day with joe

Understandable though we do have to elect a panel of judges. Its a voluntary work for the community. I wouldn't mind doing it but I lack of a PS3. Getting a panel of judges was a priority for me to do before restarting the GTPDC or any tournaments.

Is this a one off or are you planning to start a new one once this is finished. If you are i'd love to take part.

so is understeering in a drift.....i didn't think that would be legal either.

the chase cam shows kaizer never lost his drift in his run while the other did, or did you simply missed 2:44 and 2:57 on the youtube?

I would like to welcome xUXIOUSx, my new judge.
Personally i am happy with how this event has turned out thus far.
From the offset i only wanted to see if it was possible to combat 5 issues.
a) timezones
b) language barriers
c) judges would be fair regardless of team
d) touching in-drift
e) it would get too serious

IMHO the tournament has held up well to most of these. Timezones, as many predicted from the offset is an issue. As i p****d off my best fellow judge by failing to appear at his battle i have been judging contest while i should definitely be sleeping. this new judge, xUXIOUSx should be able to pick up the slack i have left. (he has the right to be angry at me, i have been seriously unoganised throughout the tournament and stuffed up rather badly on that occasion)

As for the Kaizar battle, it wasn't my call. I couldn't split them so monstergauz covered for me as i did chase-cam. While you may disagree with the call, the decision was made & if you can do better, feel free to volunteer for judging. Good luck to all competiutors, your new battle times will be organised shortly in a time that suits both competitors & the judge.

I am sorry for my recent absence, i have been busy at my local track

Well said chris, i will admit i cant do both & am not the best judge. I would prefer to have enough judges so i can simply set the battles & times, make the GTP D1 show & watch the occasional battle. However no-one seems very keen on judging (despiute the 1 million dollar car payment) and i have to take more and more battles that i feel i don't have the experience, nor the skill to judge. There will be an off period between tournaments as i must sought out this judge issue

Well this is a learning curve for some and hopefully the next tournament is alot better we all knew that the different timezones would have it's complications but I do agree that certain criteria in the rules need to be implicated. Getting judges is always gonna be a pain in the !!!
Getting people to show up on times gonna be hard
But let's get tournament 1 done and lay down the rules and regulations that have to be used in all GTP comps so there's no further arguments
Anyone posting a comp on GTP should have to abide by these rules hint to nk4e

I was originally going to use those rules, but Chris' rules seemed to be written a lot simpler and clearer to me. I will use the GTP rules next tournament i think, as everyone knows how they work.

It is all an experiment the rules are never perfect and always need refinement, so they will be better for the next tournament definitely.

Times of Quarter final's added. I would like to congratulate Nk4e for doing a brilliant job on the GTP D1 Forza livery. I would like everyone who can to have a shot at this, but good luck beating this awesome example

I think that people can beat it.

The time should work, it'll have to be well run because i've got to leave for college at 8:25ish.

I just hope Cervatoz see's this...
