Oh k. Thanks for still running. I feel terrible for missing the battle (was really looking forward to it) I apologise yet again to both of you guys. I guess my teachers have all been right, Organisation is my weak point. What would you guys like? Any car at all, i'll make it happen. This is incredibly poor from me and i am sad that i've let it happen again. Anything at all, you can have it. I know sorry doesn't make up for you guys having to wait half an hour for someone who didn't show up, but i truly am sorry.

Thanks, i'll watch the "low quality evidence of defeat" straight away and judge prior to uploading it to main page. I'm sorry i couldn't be there.

Apart from the early spin and the occasional straight up, you did quiet well. Chris had the occasional stuff up to but you both ran great overall. i would say 16-4 to Chris, but all you e-judges can feel free to dispute me

EDIT: You recorded well Cervatoz, It's better then a lot of my videoing ;). How did you get Chris' POV, despite it being recorded from yours?

Ooooh, i didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up ;) Still can't figure out how to embed the video, might have to download it and upload it to youtube

kay, i downloaded it with Keepvid.com & uploaded it to youtube. For some reason it turned blue in the process :(:(:(:( but at least it saves people leaving the page (people dont like doing that for some reason, their funny like that)

i started to think about the points system of drifting.
isnt the scale of 10 to both riders better? so it can be 8-8 9-8 etc.
so you can say that one of the drivers did a 10 but the other one did quiet well too but not as perfect so he gets an 8.
suggestion for next event.

^^^that is probably a smarter way to do it. It would be more accurate and make scores mean more (as they would be consistent regardless of the other driver) but I think it could get confusing for less experienced judges. Good idea, I think it may be part of tournament #2 rules.^^^

I just had a look at the video. Who was in the RX-7 and who was in the solstice? (spelling?)
I also dont get why the battle is over the whole track instead of just the s-bends. (its what i was used to in FM3)

As for the suggestion on the points; i would keep using the deviding of then points between the contenders.

You can then give 2 points for each of the following criteria to the person who performed best in that criteria.

Angle, Speed, Overall line, Clipping, Gap

Example: Car A leads

Car A did better at: Speed, Clipping and Gap, but was equal on Angle, and less at overall line

CarA: 2+2+2+1+0 = 7
CarB: 0+0+0+1+2 = 3

end score for that run: 7 - 3

I know D1 devides ten points over the two drivers, but im not sure about the criteria..

But it all up to you guys offcourse!

It's easilly said indeed and a good idea yes but there are no experienced judges who have stepped up to the mark with great ideas and said know what i'll do it! instead MrDinosaw has had to organise and judge in a different time-zone. im not saying nothing is his fault that has went wrong but until other judges are found then i'd say dont criticise the criteria. ofcourse all suggestions are welcome :) not having a go at you at all in anyway don't think that but i just think people should offer help in the form of judging first before trying to change judging criteria

What would be the point so you could score a couple extra points your still not gonna win if you mess up spin drop wheels off understeer I can't see the difference
Drifting Scoring is pretty basic dude it always been like this at least for the 7 years I've been following it I can't see the understanding of wanting to change it it's not hard deviding the Points

Oh k settle down guys, Jimmy has it spot on. I don't know enough detail about judging to know which is better and to be honest I would rather talk about who is willing to judge then how i should be judging. Thanks for the suggestion and detail but any changes will have to wait until tournament 2 and hopefully by then we will be talking about more then one judge.

Ty for uploading Cerv!

I would happily re-run this battle as neither of us had any practice, as I had to leave for college. I beleive we could peform a much better looking battle.

Chris.

agree with chris.

EDIT: I just found something i would like to have as an apoligise(spelling?)
Pontiac solstice!!
and Passionate Pink from Lexus LFA

Not drifted with SAi, but I have with Keisu, and I have to agree, he's pretty fast, one of the few guys I've found online who challenges me, hope he makes it to the final :)

I know he and Seigo are like glue when they are together they are really good in Tandem drifting and they always stick together no matter what car they use. But Sai is also very good. He has some vids here on GTP you could see them via his account. I drifted with both and wonder why they aren't going professional.

What do you mean 'going professional'? I know SAi and Keisu are good, but there are VERY few professional drifters in the world, 'professional' being they get paid to drift.

It's a lot harder in real life than it is 'in game' and there's also the fact that it'll cost you a good hundred thousand dollars to compete enough to get noticed and 'go pro' as it were. I know my bills to date total nearly £140,000 in 5 years of drifting, and that DOESN'T include the cost of building the car in the first place. And bear in mind that *touch wood* I have never had a crash in a drift car. If you have an accident and write off your car, you've got to factor in building a new one.

Chris.

I never considered rerunning a battle before... The result wouldn't change because it's already official but it would be a great grudge match. If you guys want to do it, tell me the time

Someone sounds mad..

Although i'm not taking any offense, and i have other goals, took going professional off my list a while ago. It sounds like he hit a spark in you or something.

Not at all, he's someone I have on my friends list on PSN etc, so I talk to him like I would if I was talking over a mic, rather than thinking that I should re-word it to sound less harsh, as obviously tone of voice doesn't come accross on plain old text. I was just saying that, no matter how good you and SAi may be, sometimes becoming a real life drifter is just not on your list of priorities with mortgages, family, careers etc. If I had the chance to go back and do it again, I might not, as I know that instead of having a 20 year old Nissan right now, I could have a nice house and a new M3 or something LOL Drifting, like any motorsport, is a HUGE commitment, and the fact you two are awesome doesn't mean you would want to take it further than just a bit of fun online with your friends. :)

Like you wouldn't assume that someone who is awesome at Call of Duty would want to go and become a Navy Seal, because the commitment required is somewhat different, and so is the impact on your life as a whole. :)

I heard that so many times about the military...though going pro on any game is another level. So many different factors in IRL. High level gameplay in anything is probably the cheapest hobby for some people.

Ah ok, you came off wrong at first for me; but yeah pretty much, I spent a while trying to devote the time and effort in wanting to go professional, but i realized with college coming, my future literally can't afford to spend that much time/money on it right now.

Soo $300+the price of different online licenses/sims isn't too bad of an investment compared to the thousands i would be pumping out otherwise.

But we're flattered Duman lol. Yes keisu when you read this i just spoke for you, i am yormostor.
