I actually think the Kyosho Supra looks a lot to be desired if I'm honest. The MKIV Supra is my all-time favourite road car, and thus if I want a model of that it has to be absolutely perfect. But then I look at Kyosho's Supra, and sort of get the feeling it looks subpar.

I mean, the headlights annoy me to no extent:

It does look good enough from a distance. But me being such a hard-core Supra fan it has to be flawless. Unfortunately there is no Supra model like that around.

Well, the model did come out in like 1998 or so, maybe even before that. It is one of the oldest Kyosho 1/18 models. Other Kyosho models from that time include the Honda/Acura NSX, Mazda RX7 (FD), Nissan 300ZX (Z32), and said Supra. When I got my Supra and NSX they were both already out of date, as I got them in 2003, around the time AA started throwing out models like mad, and when Kyosho got rather detailed (Ferrari and Lambo models mostly).
I do wish either Kyosho or AA would do a late model Supra with their current know-how. Would be great :)

have to remember that was in the "earlly" 90's when kyosho released that model, it's going to look bad, Just look at the 1990 Kyosho Honda NSX type R compared to the recent One from Autoart...

They did make a updated supra with better true to scale features....but it had the hideous unpopular though very functional hood scoop..

Hahaha :dopey:

But 6 TS020's, that's seriously sick

I see a white GT40 with a GT sticker on it, is that the 'white' version of the black one posted some days ago? (like the black 787b)

And the bumper seems to be having some of the classic Kyosho paint rash as well. :scared:

Hello,

Is this the "make Bram jealous by showing off your TS020" thread?

img2013012533757.jpg
Well, to be honest Im jealous too, theyre certainly special imo.

Reading up on the TS020.

Toyota learned about a loophole which Mercedes-Benz had exploited. All GT based cars were required to have storage space, capable of holding a standard sized suitcase, in order for the car to be considered not only production based, but usable by the public. Mercedes exploited this by putting a small cubby hole into an unused area underneath the rear bodywork, although it was not as easy to access as a normal trunk. Toyota, in their interpretation of the rules, were able to convince Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) officials that the car's fuel tank, normally empty when the car is scrutineered before the race, was allowable as a trunk space since it could, theoretically, hold a suitcase.

Some really nice cars / pics up there ^.

How long is delivery time usually with Modelissimo? Nice models by the way, really liking the 155.

It took a little under 2 weeks for my Audi R15 to arrive at the border from Italy. They didn't specify what was in the package, though, for customs so I have to send an Ebay receipt to the order myself before it's being driven to my place.

Was browsing through AUTOart's official website, looking at its 1:43 models, when I stumbled across this model:
1:43 Lamborghini Aventador

(Never seen it before on AA's home page, but this isn't the reason I posted this.)

Fantastically detailed, huh? It's got a hood, doors and an engine cover that can be opened. Boy, it's even got a spoiler that can be raised! And all of them are squeezed into a 1:43 scale model!
But look at the price, it costs 164 USD. Compare it to the prices of other Lamborghini 1:43 models, and you'll find out that its price is almost 4 times the price of some models. It's even more expensive than some of the 1:18s, which has nothing less in terms of features. Same thing happens to other 1:43 models with openings, they almost cost the same as their 1:18 counterparts.
Why have AUTOart made these 1:43 models so expensive, when you can buy a 1:18 version of it for the same value? Why are these models much more expensive than other 1:43s, when the biggest difference between them is only hoods and doors that can be opened?
I was originally thinking about get a 1:43 model from AUTOart. But now I've seen the price, I will have to think again, as they charge you ~35 USD even for the cheapest ones.

Ranting finished. Anyone know if Ixo's 1:18 models are any good?

That is a picture of a HPI 1:18 155 V6TI. Not an autoart 155 V6TI.
(I also couldn't find the autoart on the modelissimo site)
This is the autoart for comparison.

I can assure you its an AutoArt - it came in an AA box and it has AA stamped on the bottom of the car. And yes I also noticed Modelissimo no longer have it on their site.
The article number is was 55438.

@bopop4

I took the liberty of applying a Levels correction to your photo and it turned out like this.

Maybe something you'd want to look in to. :sly:

My bad. It's a 1/18 Norev Citroën DS 23 Pallas that I picked up from a visit to the Barrett-Jackson last week. Pretty nicely detailed car, albeit a bit fragile. Half of the antennae snapped right off and flew someplace where I can't see it when I was dusting the car off with a cloth. :scared:

Well well, 1 out of 20 finally came.... my god, ebbro 1:43...is so detailed... it looks just like my 1:18 autoarts...if not actually better...

Nismo Nissan fairlady Z widebody "GT" 800 pcs.

Ending note: basically just shrunk a Real Fairlady Z, Lots of little details that add up to something truly amazing.

Anyway i'll let the pics do the talking.
