Popcorn in the thread aside, I'm still in. I have to start being careful about the radio in the car, though - last thing I need is to get ambushed on the rare occasion I have to leave the house. I haven't heard much Christmas music, though.

I like how you seem to take this game far more seriously than anyone actually taking part in it.

Also, there's lots of stuff people talk about on here that honestly annoys me, guess what I do? Keep scrolling, that's it, that's what I do.
 
Oh, I was taken out in early November by a random radio bit warning listeners that it was time to unthaw Mariah Carey! (with the song on the background.) :rolleyes:

Imagine using the whole "Commercialism is bad" Schtick (And still complaining that it's not using Wham anymore) to basically be salty over a game where there is literally no point other then to have fun (The thing that I swear it feels like more and more people are forgetting about) and this is coming from someone who was drive-by wham'd. He is really dying on this hill just because he's never gonna dance again.

I don't see the fun in trying to avoid a song. When I did play the game I was constantly stressing out everywhere I went, and I just can't do it anymore. How is that enjoyable? I want to have fun when I play a game and this simply isn't, so I do find it odd that people here want to participate. Have I missed something?

There absolutely zero stress involved, get knocked out and have a laugh at yourself as well as anyone else's demise.

If your efforts went beyond "not telling anyone about your goal to avoid the songs" you've gone way too far. Live your life and if you happen to notice* the accursed song simply shrug your shoulders, have a little laugh and go back to living your life.

*I say notice because when I'm shopping I tune out the music 99% of the time I'm in the store, for all I know I've already lost but was too busy trying to get out of the store as quickly as possible to notice. There is no requirement to vigorously scan every single audible noise for a particular song nor should you.

I know there isn't a requirement to scan every audible noise but I did because I wanted to make sure I avoided the songs at all costs. I wanted to win the game and survive, but I don't see the point anymore. I realised that it was a waste of time participating in a trivial game which didn't feel fun. At least if I lose in an online race I'm not annoyed because I had fun. If I lose this game I have to wear that dishonour for the rest of the year, and it stinks. When I don't participate, I'm immune to all that crap so I can try trolling those people who actually play and I tell you, that seems WAY more fun. I'd get a kick saying "GOT 'EM!!!!" after successfully Careying someone.

Sure, but considering the award for "winning" and punishment for losing are both nothing there is no real reason to take it seriously.

I mean, if you want to take it super seriously and stress yourself out in the process go for it, but don't take it out on everyone else because you don't know how to just relax and have a good time.

It seems a pretty good amount of the interactions I've seen you have here lately have been best described as confrontational low effort trolling. It's honestly bordering on being worrying because I don't remember you always being like this.

@Daniel made a sarcastic comment which I did not approve of. I'm not "fun" in the context he put it in, which was a negative one. When I said that my family would disagree with the statement, it was in the sarcastic sense, not the literal one. I can tell you for a fact I'm not a party pooper - it's just that I think this game is stupid and not worth anyone's time.
