Oh, right, the "issue" of BMWs. Issue in quotations because I'm kinda leading the championship. :lol: Anyways, how about having each car have different reliability values, with the BMW having the highest chance of spontaneous combustion? I can totally help out with this btw.

Cars retiring in the pit lane for no reason, specified in the game as DNF, an be reduced if the Attrititon = value in the track's .GDB is reduced. If the game thinks there's suppose to be mechanical failures depening on that value and it hasn't seen any, it will just stop cars in the pit lane and have them never to return.

If you haven't yet, turn the Tire Wear Multiplyer up an extra mark, just have a little fun with it. I would also lower the FollowingExponent= in the series's .GDB file so that there is more potential for drafting between cars, help to tighten up the pack a little bit.

Unless we're looking at different reliability stats, I've got mine set at an average lifetime of about 3 hours (which makes perfect sense in the game) with a variation of 37,5 minutes. Basically your dead-standard stuff going on here.

I do, however, see the fun in having all the BMWs blow up on lap four.. :lol:

That might be worth a looking into, I've always wondered why the game'd sort of spin a wheel-of-fortune when it comes to cars having mechanical problems in the pits. I mean, it does happen in real life that they don't see a problem until it's right up in their face, but I doubt it's happening to three or more cars each round.

Wouldn't that basically be giving the BMW Pirelli tyres though? :lol:

Might actually work to just increase the effect of downforce - should also help make a few more overtakes other than that one spot on each course.

The big thing would be moving Mechanical Failues from Normal to Time Scaled, which you give you permsision to go to town with the reliability values. Although the only thing I would change would be LifeTimeVar to give say, the BMW, more of a probability to blow up while leaving LifetimeAvg alone. Although finding the right balance would take time.

There is no magic tire that has a awkard operating range and a even more awkward wear rate in the game as far as I'm aware. And changing the compound used in the .HDC for the car only changes the default for the player, the Ai usually change it back to what they think is best for the strategery at hand, because that is what they do with the fuel load values. I was just thinking in terms of increasing the variance of strategery so that there is more possibility that a Porsche or Ferrari could jump ahead on strategy rather than on pace. I'd probably just change the tire the BMWs are using to Dunlop_GT while keeping the others at Michelin_GT. Gotta keep throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks, right? :banghead:

Can I ask someone a big big favor? :dopey: It's really big.

Can someone replicate this scheme on a BMW? If you do, I will love you forever. Just keep the Autobacs logo and the general design, don't include the smaller sponsors. :)

If you could send me the .psd when it's done, it would be fantastic! This will be my potential Spa scheme. Thank you to whoever accepts this challenge, I love you!!!

Not too sure about the tyres (we all know what happened last time I messed around with that stuff), but one does not simply not agree with this:

First thought upon reading current thread title:

Also, @rallymorten I filled out your questionnaire, AND your train of thought.....It wasn't pristine though.

..yup, nothing special to see here! :lol:

also digital cookie to whoever gets the reference from the title

BH...If no one has laid claim to it by this weekend.......I will start work on it as best I can.

No Problem 👍 Speaking of you, I decided to give this abit of polished makeover:

Hope you like that.

As good as this turned out, I felt like it was missing something. After looking at the reference picture that original was based on, I decided to incorporate some more things and presto, Here's V2:

race-rgt-50-ii-png.406762

- Black Roof with Yellow stripes based on original source reference
- Additional Sponsor "Momo Corse" added to Rear Bumper
- Change of windshield banner from "Yokohama" to "Ferrari"

Now I feel this is more complete.

Is there a template you can't paint? That looks amazing.

OMG MY AI IS ACTUALLY GOOD FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE GRAND VALLEY

Apart from that, nothing I hadn't expected. The BMW's (having had a 10bhp nerf.. again) are now finally beginning to struggle as much as the rest, and the Porsches (who have all of the mid-speed acceleration) is basically dominating qualifying here. That satisfies my need for having at least two different manufacturers on pole this season :P

3rd place? Not bad. I just hope to get some more points to regain my championship lead. 👍

Boy, I'm falling down a steep slope littered with knifes, aren't I? My A.I. just simply forgot how to Ferrari properly, even on Ferrari's own local grounds! Well this race is going to be a 420 in reverse for me, I already bet on it...

Oh well, at least the BMWs are struggling more, maybe this time the race won't be so one-sided. I say "maybe", but then again, with this A.I....

26th place qualifying. What happened to my driver. We'll hopefully my driver will figure his 🤬 out for the race.

Preview 2 to arrive at the conclusion of Round 6.

I love how this was posted at exactly 4:20 AM my time :lol:

I think I've also finally found a good way of doing things regarding the videos.

Previously I'd put everything together in the near-MLG video editor that can actually do transparent imaging (that is the one thing holding me back from just Movie Maker'ing the entire thing), then export that to Movie Maker just for the sake of voicing.

Now, what if I instead put it all together in MM (which also means that fancy transitions can be a thing again), do voicing and primary editing there and then open that up in the imageable one for the sake of overlaying the graphics?

Might be a slightly faster method too.

Well, MM does have its advantages;

  • Slightly faster method since you don't have to swap between two different programs to do the editing and the voicing at the same time;
  • Fancy transistions (as you said, they are possible with MM), which could make the videos look better;
  • And it leaves only one thing to do with the other program, which is the "graphics overlay" (whatever that is, I don't do graphics).
So, it's doable. If it makes the whole process more smooth...

Of course, the one time I'm not doing commentary at 1 AM, there's technical problems aka microphone deciding to screw me over :lol:

More technical glitches? Oh boy, these last races have not been smooth in that department. The infamous Chica curse, perhaps? :lol:
