Why dosnt the host have or use a mic? Would makes things a lot easier.

I think its all about connection. Not everybody in here have a great connection. (I have "not good" connection. Only 3Mbps download and 0,28kbps upload). If voice chat is turned on, i think there will be many lags.

It's too help with all the connections I believe Some of us racers have very bad connections including me

First of all, i'd like to say that sum people here looks like a little young boys, not GT5 drivers. You guys really don't need all those "blablaba". You just disrespect the others and not try to find any solution. The only guy here who has tried to find a solution is Wardez... And, hasn't participated with you guys yesterday huh?... So, if it's only to tell you mean things, please stop! FIND SOLUTIONS!

 PAL GT300 RACE REPORT

Well, as i said, i have open the room at 19.00. All the guys came to progressively. (Only Masi missed....BOUUUHHHH MASI BOUUUUHHH...lol ;) ). Then i started the checks. All fine imo, just Mole and Niss who apparently have sum prob with their Celica specs...(no?). weight/pp checks needs ~10/12mn so i asked to the guys if they were OK for the HP checks. Many of them said "As you want". Cool, cause if the guys say that, it mean that they are sure of their car specs and they don't try to cheat. Much appreciated 👍 .And finally we all decided to ignore the HP checks for tonight.

Race start. And Joshua didn't know that there was a formation lap. 👎 . Read the rules mate...well, all fine finally, cause he waited.

Personally, I had a very bad race cause ther was sum of my friends who came to visit me at the apartment. Grrrrr ****** friends lolz ;) . So I stopped in the sand and...race over for me. Very sad cause I had a very good battle with Toyot 👍 .

Mole DC'd :( . Don't know why man, maybe you have sum connexion issues in these christmas times. Gods aren't with you man...i'm sorry for you.

Hellboy has a very good battle with Niss for the 3rd place but Niss has a very, big glitch, all was stuck on his car. (throttle, wheels, etc..) so he hit hellboy and has been DC'd a few secs later.

I don't need to speak about the Paggy's quit. (thanks for your explications Paggy :tup).

I'd like to remember you guys (especially you Joshua) that the blue and white lines on the main straight, between the exit pit lane and the track, are NOT an overtaking area... ( https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6227537#post6227537 "track contact rules", point d.)

Finally, i'd like to say thank you guys for this race. See you soon ;)

PS: sorry for my so bad English.

Results: coming soon.

Mics: If the host is using a mic, everyone that posess a headset will hear what the host says.
For the ones who don't own a proper headset, listening to the hosts directions thru the TV speakers will not be able to hear 100%..
So that's the main reason why we should drop the idea about mics imo.

It only affects lag when there are like 10 people using mics. If only the host has 1 on to go through all the pre race checks and then turns it off, then it's fine.

We in AUS don't have half the speed of the people in USA and Europe and usually there is no problem. I don't think it's all down to mics. Mics can be a problem if lots of people have them on yes. The host needs the best connection. Last weeks NTSC race we had CSL as the host and there wasn't 1 hint of lag for the whole race.

Like Denilson says, those of us without headsets just can't hear them reliably enough. And they do take some bandwidth, if only the tiniest amount, I'd rather put it into lag-free racing. You get lag-ruined races enough you'll see things the same way. :yuck:

I am strangely compatible with Aussies connections. I hear of many people having issues with them, but I do not usually.
From what I could tell no lag last week, very nice.

My Internet connection seems to like the US guys lol

Well, although many of this might be true... I think insulting many with these comments isn't a solution either.

It was a mess today to say the least. But writing "find solutions" in caps is most likely not the answer, and only fuels the fire some more.

Hopefully cool heads can prevail tomorrow and we can continue working to make this a great series. Which, you in fact, have played a great part in.

To a new tomorrow and a great series

Hey guys.

Had an emergency to tend to and stayed in the hospital all day. Couldn't bother to post.

I hope all is well mate. All of this stuff is trivial in comparison.

NEPALII
I can host without people giving me a hard time. Tony comes in saying "this is lame", persian holds up the PP check saying he's got the specs wrong and Apollo kept telling to do not do rolling start when it is in the freakin OP! Do you see where Im getting at CSL? Why I acted the way I did? Perhaps it would have been better to just sit in the pits for the whole race. I get criticized for my mistakes and the others don't? Please, I may have some issues, I aint perfect, but seriously some of you aint any better. No offense, just the truth.

Are you serious?
I did not keep telling you not to do a rolling start? That's a lie.
Only person that had a problem in the room was you.
Tony made a comment that it was lame half the room didn't show and you took it personal for whatever reason and got thick.
Also you didn't reset the track and when that was mentioned you kicked off again saying you were sick of people complaining.
Also you said it's only preseason we don't need to reset, but it's in the rules of the series to reset the room just as is the rolling start you mentioned.

Nothing personal but you probably shouldn't host if you can't handle it.
Last week you were doing the pp checks in the wrong order also.
But everyone kept their cool then.
I think you were a bit out of order by kicking off like that.

@monstar: And if the voice chat is enabled, I cant listen to my Personal BGM and I cant race without it. Wkakaakkaka

Any feedback with the balance of the gt300s? I'm gonna do tyre wear testing starting Monday but the last time I did the testing on my own people still thought some cars were faster than others. So speak up or forever hold your peace. :D

Sigh, this is why I won't be sticking around long. I know my connection isn't the best by a long line.. but as I said before, it was originally a practice room, I didn't intend to host at all.. And worst connection ever? Was anyone loading in that room? Was anyone lagging? I know it is 🤬 but it was either my room or no room at that time, and it was doing fine besides the 8 player setup, so you can cut that crap.

And what are you going to do in the middle of the season if you win like that? Have a big rant at everyone for not driving fast enough? Seriously.

Yes, NEPALII's hosting wasn't the best (no offense intended), but some of the comments from other competitors in the room weren't helpful in any way. "This is lame" for example, is only going to encourage people to quit.

Finally, I agree with Wardez's idea. Some people seem to think they can handle room hosting themselves, so by all means let them do it.

Put me down on the capable host list please. :D
Anybody that doesn't know the pp limits and procedure will be getting kicked :D

Race start. And Joshua didn't know that there was a formation lap. 👎 . Read the rules mate...well, all fine finally, cause he waited.

I don't know why I floored it soon as, i've done formation laps millions of times. Just a dopey moment on my behalf, but no harm done.

Is it possible to change class once you done your qualifier?

@ Masi could i change my class to GT300 PAL?

@Litchi I really like you commitment about the series, and I like the way you are honest about everything you say! 👍

Ps. your english isn't bad, to me at least. :dunce:

I did exactly the same, forgot everything about it. But fortunately I remembered when I came seriously close to the guy up front, cause it wouldn't have been normal for me to get up in the field that fast haha. :sly:

You did tell me that there was no rolling start. Tony's comment Im just not going to say anything before I regret it. There is no order to PP checks, you can do them from lowest to highest or vice versa. Yes, one method is quicker, but its about being right or wrong. I didnt do them wrong.

Now, when you have people coming in without knowing there is a rolling start and with wrong specs, that pisses me off. Sorry if I get pissed off so easily but that's who I am. You just kept typing in the chat box many times, while people were doing their qualifying. The track doesnt really need to be reset as the formation lap is used to sort out the grid. Just make sure what position you qualified in. It's easier if I had reset track, but we were too late anyways. Oh by the way, please go find where it says that the track needs to be reset. There is NOTHING on the OP mentioning track reset. It mentions PP check and rolling start. So, yeah, I didnt do anythig wrong. Nice try. :)

Oh and don't worry I quit as a host, so you dont have to deal with me. Enjoy!

people talk about how i messed up in the start ok i agree. but the whole event yesterday was such a mess that anyone else besides me could of forget the rolling start. the message window appeared after the start.. and i dont understand why change the specs for the track?? really weird, i didnt have time to check the forum this week..but anyway the whole event yesterday was a mess at the first place and should be really sorted out

The specs we were using were from last season and Masi had said that new specs were going to be used soon. So, we used them yesterday and will be used today. It's important to keep track of the thread every once in a while.

We're running new specs this week.
We'll probably run at least slightly modified specs next week, we'll see.

We'd like to sort these things before the season start, and of course, our never ending quest for great specs means we'll work on it as much as possible. :P

So keep an eye out for the specs before races, they'll be posted at least 5 days before the race, that's the best we can do for now. Specs will be finalized ASAP, but we're going to make sure they're good first.

2 reasons I responded to your other post. Was because you said I kept tellin you not to do a rolling start.
Which implies to everybody else reading that post that I told
You on multiple occasions that there is no rolling start, and that makes me look bad and caused you frustration which is a reason you left.
What I actually said was, while we were actually on the formation lap "that maybe we shouldn't do a formation lap because it's only preseason " which was nothing
serious because we were actually on the lap.

Reason 2
Is because you said that " then Tony came in and said this is lame" as if it was some sort of attack on you which it wasn't.
We were all in the room practicing for a good 15-20 mins before Tony said "this is lame "in respect to half the room not showing up ,and you lost it straight away.

The reason I responded to your post is because is you are insinuating stuff in that post which are lies and trying to make other people look bad and a reason for your leaving.

I Don't wanna flood this thread with arguments but that post was wrong.

Had an emergency to tend to and stayed in the hospital all day. Couldn't bother to post.

That is about the one valid excuse I have seen yet. Hope all is good.

Not for me as I have great trouble with spoken english.

Are you comparing the cars stock or with some good tune?

The Subaru '08 has severe front tyre wear, but that is about the only disadvantage it has. And it can be mitigated with brake balance, and torque split if necessary. Other cars' disadvantages are perhaps not so easy to dial out.

 to you guys doing the specs. I know I am not consistent enough to do such stuff.

Whether it was a personal attack or not, it wasn't necessary to give that comment. Yes I lost it. I'm sorry I get carried away too easily. He shouldn't have made the comment in the first place. And if it was "lame" for him why did he decide to stay? I don't get it. It's nothing against him, it's just that I don't understand his reaction, that's all.

It doesnt make sense forgetting about the rolling start for two reasons. First, it's in the rules, it's in the OP. And second, if we were already on the formation lap why stop doing it? Might as well finish it, it would have been better saying that before the formation lap actually started.

Like I said before, you won't have to worry about my hosting anymore as I wont be hosting anymore. That should make you happy. I followed the rules, I know I did, so I dont wanna hear BS from you or anyone else. Only thing you can criticize me for is for my rage quitting. Apart from that, dont even dare criticize me.

I don't care about the rules or anything else i'm not angry about what happened in the room, i'm angry about that post.
what you said is above about me is not true.

I am going to ask you 1 question.
Did I act the way and say what you said in that post above?

As for saying that I shouldn't dare criticise you.
Don't you dare post lies about me to make me look bad.
