Think he means that we do quali as now. But only to sort the grid. Your division is already determined from your last race result. So all qualitimes in D1 can be slower that the D2 times, but since the divisions are locked as soon as the race before got final results, drivers can no longer move between divisions. Only by winning or loosing a race will force you to D1 or D2.

Hmm that sounds good too... but what about what I thought it was, sounds pretty bad ass if I do say so mine self.

Ooo, new page. Posting again, offer still stands but is raised to million!:

Quick request for all participants.

Hear something?
What's that?
Over there!

A wild PRIZE CAR has appeared!

I'm giving away any car from the premium dealership up to $1,000,000 to the first people to give me the following:

  • Replay file of Division 1 Round 1 @ Fuji
  • Replay file of Division 2 Round 1 @ Fuji
  • Replay file of GT300 race Round 2 @ Tsukuba
  • Replay file of Division 2 Round 3 @ La Sarthe

This is open to all participants, stewards or not. And you're not limited to just one car either ;).

Please simply export the replay and upload it to Megaupload or Mediafire so that we can download it for getting finishing times and for archiving.

What i mean by that is we will have Divisional Qualifying.

Cars will qualify like we do now but will only be viable for their respective division.
Division I - 1st through 8th
Division II - 9th through 16th
Division III - Waiting List (or if we have more people, we can make it a permanent competing division.

Mixed Class Race: Race A - GT500/GT300 Division 1 Drivers | Race B - GT500/GT300 Division 2 Drivers
Same Class Race: GT500/GT300 Division 1 and 2 races together as a full grid.

I've always like the idea of division racing but it seemed to exclude some genuinely good drivers that sometimes just had a bad day or aren't as good with the mandated qualifier car and didn't get in. But with your thing about the loser of D1 falling back and D2's winner jumping up is pretty brilliant and should get rid of the problem I just mentioned.

The Qualifier i have in mind will consist of multiple laps. Let's just say for now 7 laps. 1 warm up lap and 6 hot laps. Only the top 4 hot laps will count to compensate for mistakes. The top 4 laps will be averaged to get your time. This system should indicate the consistent and better drivers rather than 1 lap wonders (hot-lappers :D).

btw were you reading our discussion in the GTP Governing body thread? :D

I was :D Only a part of it. I'll check it out later.

just finished setting up the Motul GT-R for the green hell. Can't wait to qualify

You know that we race the GP/F layout, right? We'll race the green hell in round 11.

Btw, you're signed up in the Toyota YELLOWHAT SUPRA. Not correct?
Not that it matters since both cars are available. Just need to update the sheet if that's the case.

Masi_23: Can you change this information in the drivers list?
And also Arkano5 should be removed, and replaced with SB-1977 in the CALSONIC GT-R team with OwensRacing.

And also remove jav from the ADVAN IMPREZA team. 👍

Yeah that's pretty much exactly like the time trial system we're gonna use for licensing. Cool stuff, definitely brings out the fast racers more so than just lap queens.

Arkano5 should be removed, and replaced by SB-1977 for team CALSONIC GT-R.

Whanganghoast should be put in the AUTECH MOTUL GT-R with GTP_L_Hamilton. 👍

It will open up one YELLOWHAT SUPRA.

I'd just like to tweak the idea a tad. Can we make the top 2 drivers from D2 to get a seat in D1 the week after, and bottom 2 from D1 will end up in D2. I think it will perhaps be a bit to fixed if only one driver gets promoted/relegated.

@ The Drivers List - i thought i did that already, i guess i forgot to save correctly :D

I actually thought of that too since we now have 16 cars in the grid. That's ok with me.

I will be using the Bandai Lexus mate

Someone just signed-up: "SUPRA_LORD" - he selected the Autech Motul GT-R. Sorry but you have to pick a Yellowhat car.

I believe that car is banned.

No it's not mate look on the available car list and you will see it's in the GT500 class anyways I have bought this car and I will be using it. If it was banned it would say it in the banned cars list wouldn't it?

I stand corrected.

@ Dennis - I wasn't here during the discussion, but what was the main reason on having the off weeks?

Masi: Take GTP_L_Hamilton off the list. And put wanganghost and SUPRA_LORD in that team.

It's ok to drive the Lexus BANDAI DIREZZA SC430. 👍

toyotsupra: It's ok mate. You can drive the BANDAI DIREZZA.
It's just that I'd like if we filled up the teams that are not yet filled. But it's your choice.

@ Dennis - I wasn't here during the discussion, but what was the main reason on having the off weeks?

With the PSN outage in mind, we decided to plan a few holes in the shedule in order to be able to move the shedule around a bit and not delay the season because of it. One other big reason was that it's quite demanding to attend to 9 races in 12 weeks (If you make the final 4 that is. In other cases, it will require 8 fridays out of 11). By putting in some weeks off, we now need to attend to 8 fridays in 13 weeks which allow fore more drivers to be able to make 8 rounds. For me, dedicate 8 out of 11 weeks to GT5 is not possible. How much I want to race does not matter, I simply know that I'm not able to give away almost every friday night duiring fall.

And we can move some races around a bit. Like the post Hutjung submitted a few pages back.. That he can't make more than 7 rounds. With the gaps, we can now move one race, not delay or compromize with the total time, and make it possible for Hutjung to attend to 8 races.

That's pretty much why.. Alltough a lot of guys did not agree with me.. ;)

It is still the nurburgring so its the green hell for me. About the car. I resigned up with the Motul GT-R. I also have a question of when the room will be open for qualifying.

The Nordschleife is refered to as "The Green Hell", not the GP circuit. But I was just making sure you did not set up your car for the wrong track. That would be a shame, would'nt it? ;)

Why would we suddenly allow 16 players in WSGTC 3 when connections are still a problem? You're talking 16 on track at the same time right?

To note:
We're going to be putting up a mandatory/compulsory survey for all registered players to complete. It'll mostly focus on your internet connection but will also have some optional questions to answer about the way you drive in WSGTC with GT5. So keep an eye out for it, it'll be on top of the OP soon.

We're also going to start recommending that all participants in WSGTC use a hardwired connection rather than WiFi due to WiFi's known instability issues.

Most of the drivers who encounter connection or lag issues on raceday are most probably suffering them due to using a wireless connection rather than a solid Ethernet cable connection. Hopefully all of them who are on wireless can make

We can always test it. I've held 16 car grids before Season 1 started with diverse international drivers and i did not have much problems. Still have pictures (looks awesome!) with the high number of cars! That includes the current OP picture in Nurburgring GP/F :)

I'm against 16 car grids. But I'm not against to try it prior season 3. Things might've improved.

But even if we go with 16 or 14 cars, I still think we should promote 2 D2 drivers, and relegate 2 D1 drivers.

Btw: Did you read my answer to you regarding the gaps in our schedule?

Just did :) Off week idea is great but i think the season is a bit too long with 11 total races. 8 would've been enough in my opinion, but i guess the majority voted for more.

Idea:
What do you guys think about user created tracks for the Final Shootout? The track will come from a driver outside the Finalists so its all fair game. Official practice sessions will be held, along with Qualy, then finally - Raceday :)

That's an interesting idea but I just don't know...

I guess it does level the field even more considering we're pretty much gonna be spec racing NSX's.

If we were gonna use someone else's track I'd definitely want it to be a track made by R1600Turbo. He makes some of the best true-to-life tracks on GTP.

It is mate:tup: I need a car that has front winning pace ASAP because i would be pretty fast if i had the right car beneath me whitch at the moment i don't have.

It's ok.. I understand your pain. You need alot of skill to tame an NSX. If you're not up to it, it's better that you change :mischievous:

EDIT: Most likely wont be part of the finals but I like the idea of having user made tracks
