What about just thirty minutes JP? Would that be enough time?

It would still be very hard.. but maybe possible if it comes to it..

I would also like to thank you guys for the effort !! if some one really can`t make it out for 21 gmt make sure to say it clearly.. i see some nay but would it be impossible to continue with the serie ?? makes a big difference.

7. Hortus: Yay - more time to settle in from work + not an unreasonable proposal
8. denilson . yay (It will be late for me. But I'm going to do everything possible to keep a driver like JP racing with us)
9. Supraphantom - Yay ! It will be late for me to. but if it helps some on it fine fore me.
10. Biffy - Yay, as long as we go with Denilson's way of thinking, because it's quite likely I won't be able to make 10pm BST every week.

14. Shrugging_Atlas - Yay! The Friday early afternoon starts are tough for U.S. based racers with FT jobs.

Well your connection's always solid so he must just have some wiring problems like he mentioned. Maybe that after he gets it serviced it'll be a lot better for him. Here's hoping 👍

It does look as if that is the case when I checked it yesterday

Hope to win on the track instead of off it this time:)

Anyone got a room up, if not il open 1 in about 30 mins

Oh and josh i dont think you can change car for the season, sorry dude, but let Chorda/Den confirm that 1

I would like to change to the SUPERAUTOBACS APEX MR-S 00 because im not enjoying the subaru :)

 Trust me. The standard Impreza is a very nice car to drive, especially compared to the MR-S. It's so annoying when you're trying to get on the power because of the short power peak. Even I'm starting to find it annoying. Also, the car was horrible to drive in the wet last season because of the power curve and it definitely wouldn't have got any nicer this season.

And no you can't change cars mid-season unless exceptions are made. I wouldn't see the harm in you coming to the MR-S team but still.

If you've already raced the suburu in any of the first 3 rounds I'm pretty sure you have to stick to it.

Someone else asked the same thing the other day.

I'll be online in 20 mins

Thanks for the help Denilson!

No worries.. It's fun to try and tame the NSX. ;)

Is it possible to change cars mid-season?
No, it's not possible. But I can offer you an opportunity since I got a driver that are ready to jump in instantly in your ARTA.
Cars that you can pick:
YELLOWHAT GT-R
AUTECH MOTUL GT-R
BANDAI DIREZZA SC430
Perhaps the YELLOWHAT SUPRA as well. Have not seen the new guy driving it post anything in the thread though.

Im not sure you know im sure ive been told you can.
No, as Paginas just said, you can not change car as soon as you've participated in a race or quali.

I don't want to be a ****, that's why I let some of you change cars.
I do look at the level of commitment as the most important factor.
If a new guy who does not show up, do not stay updated, race once and state that he'd like to change cars, I'd defenetly say no.

Both you and toyotsupra are commited, and WSGTC really like to have drivers like yourselfs among us. I'd say that 1 / 4 drivers that signs up are commited (probably less). So guys like you do not come around to often. It's my responsibility to make sure that the drivers in this championship have a good time and enjoy the series, as much as I want to keep it kind of strict.

With this in mind, yes YOU and toyotsupra can change cars. Just make sure to try the cars before. Cause I will not let you change again. It's not "just to change" your car. We need to redo a lot of sheets, I need to update driverprofiles. And honestly, it's a lot of work. I hope you understand my point of view as well. Let me, Wardez and Masi_23 know when you know which car you'd like to drive instead. 👍

Okay Denilson I will let you know tomorrow with the new car i will be using and also the updated driver photo How's that sound?

I'll change from the Lexus to the Garaaya then. :D

Lol
Just joking. It will be fun to tame tha beast.
Today I spent some more time tunning it and even if I didn't improve my PB, I'm more consistent now. Lapping low 04 with the occasional 03.
Maybe by the end of the season I'll be a contender. Or when the top guys are all carrying 100 Kilos of ballast. ;)

I know it's still a bit early, but i thought i'd share an idea about a different Qualifying procedure for next season.

I. Before the season starts, the Drivers Registry will run a mandatory Qualifier. It will be held through live sessions in the Supervision of a Steward.
All drivers will run similar cars (1 car for GT500, 1 car for GT300). Each driver will be given 6 laps. The top 4 laps will count. Those laps will be added
and averaged. That average will be your time.

II. Drivers will separated through 8 car divisions based on their times (Applies to both GT500 and GT300)
Division I. 1st - 8th
Division II. 9th - 16th
Division III. 17th - 24th

III. Raceday
Same Class - Division I and Division II will make up the grid. Division III will be the waiting list.
Bottom Finisher from Division I will be relegated to Division II, while the Top Finisher from Division II moves up to Division I.

Mixed Class - Division I from each class (GT500 and GT300) will make up Race A. Division II will make up Race B. Division III will be the waiting list.
Bottom Finisher from Division I will be relegated to Division II, while the Top Finisher from Division II moves up to Division I.

III. Setting up the Starting Grid
Room will be open 20 minutes prior to Qualifying. Live Qualifying prior to race will be 20 minutes.
Procedure:
Run your laps
Once you are satisfied with your lap, find a suitable place on the track to pull over.
Stay there until the Qualifying session is finished.
This is to ensure that you keep your Lap, the game erases laps once you come back into the pits.
Once the 20 minutes are up, the host will announce the start of the race.
Every should stop on their tracks.

IV. Formation Lap

  • Grid is automatically set based on Lap Times.
  • Once Timer sets to Zero, do not move!
  • GT300 cars will come around first and do 1 lap and settle behind the GT500 cars.
  • The field will roll at a predetermined speed and formation (to be decided)
  • Pole Sitter will determine the start prior to the Start Finish.
  • No passing prior to Start Finish!
  • Once you cross the Start Finish - Go Nuts!

Note: More Divisions will be created depending on how many people Sign-up and/or run the Qualifier.

Advantage - less work for Stewards and less hassle for everyone else.
Disadvantage - Point 1 that you see and we'll discuss.

Sounds like a plan. 👍

It is mate:tup: I need a car that has front winning pace ASAP because i would be pretty fast if i had the right car beneath me whitch at the moment i don't have.

So the NSX is'nt fast? You're wrong!
It does require much from the driver thogh.

Masi_23: I like your idea, part from the qualiprocedure.
It will be impossible to validate all drivers. And if that's not enough, 20 minutes are a too short period of time to quali, and spectate 14 cars do quali.
So 7 cars get 8 minutes, and spectated by the rest (7 drivers). And after 8 minutes, cars go off track, and the ones who just watched will enter and the procedure will repeat?
On top of that, the game mix up laptimes even if all drivers stay out on the track.
The way we do it now is the best way imo.
It's also exciting that the championship is "alive" during the weeks as well if you ask me.

@ Denilson - Hmmm In that case, we can still do the same Qualy prcedure but Division I drivers battle for 1st to 8th from the grid and so on and so forth for other divisions...

Divisions would ensure that races can be as tight, close, and exciting as they can get :)

ie. Tony1311 making a mistake in Qualy and is relegated to Room 2 (Div 2 Race). He does not show up as a result as he thinks it would not be as competetive (I dnt blame him because he just really is Alienly fast).

Exactly. 👍

And also something about if you do not state that you'll not participate, you'll automaticly drop 1 division. Well, this is just me thinking out loud.. But something along that line would be awesome.

Right! Great idea... This new system will also make people think twice about quiting after crashing early as they will increase their chance of finishing last in their division :D

I've just been dropped a bombshell that I'm highly unlikely to be participating in this series past round seven, which I'm seriously damn gutted about because I'm finally finding my feet in this series. ):

Just a heads up. I might do round eight and get the mandatory seven races done, but I'm going to be unable to race after that. ):

Thats too bad :( but atleast ull get to do the mandator 7. Although if you finish high enough, you won't get to compete in the finals. But let's not worry about it too much and focus on Nur! Thanks for notifying by the way :)

That idea sounds pretty cool Masi, but what do you mean by this?

Do you mean that we should do regular quali. as we do now but the top 8 get to do another pre-race qualifying on raceday to sort the top 8 grid?

So that would be kind of like knockout qualifying with Q3 sorting out the top ten and pole!

I like that idea, but we'll need to discuss it in detail in a dedicated WSGTC 3 thread that should be started in the "Interest Check" sub-forum.

btw were you reading our discussion in the GTP Governing body thread? :D

I've always like the idea of division racing but it seemed to exclude some genuinely good drivers that sometimes just had a bad day or aren't as good with the mandated qualifier car and didn't get in. But with your thing about the loser of D1 falling back and D2's winner jumping up is pretty brilliant and should get rid of the problem I just mentioned.

Excite!

Think he means that we do quali as now. But only to sort the grid. Your division is already determined from your last race result. So all qualitimes in D1 can be slower that the D2 times, but since the divisions are locked as soon as the race before got final results, drivers can no longer move between divisions. Only by winning or loosing a race will force you to D1 or D2.
