We judge all incidents that are reported, or noted by the stewards. In other words, we could see something between you and your rival that neither of you reported, and hand out a penalty if we think it's against our set of rules.

I have been running very close racing in WSGTC for several several races without getting damaged. It's all about being careful. If damage is caused, the errant driver could in 99 % of the cases have avoided it. I think that causing damage is clumsy and aggressive.
I agree that it's not intentional in most cases, but the trick is to know when you can make a move, and when you can't. If you do cause damage by a move, it was too aggressive, and not careful enough. Intentional or not does not matter. It's a matter of knowing where the limits are. If you know them, the racing wil be awesome. Look at you and GTP_Senninha2 at Suzuka last season. That was class A driving. 👍

And I just want to make one thing clear: Even if you and your competitor race door to door and cause damage to eachother, but both of you think it was racingincidents, that will not change the set of rules as WSGTC drivers are supposed to race by. So a penalty can be handed out to one of you even though both of you think you had an awesome race. Under no curcuimstance will the WSGTC set of rules come in second hand.

I do understad that it can seem silly sometimes. But we need to be conciquent when handing out penalties. All race to the same set of rules. The rules will not warry depending on who battles who.
Doesn't seem silly at all to me, pretty much anything that causes damage can be avoided playing this game, it's a matter of putting forth the extra effort to make sure it doesn't happen. (says the guy with a 25 second penalty)
I've said it before, what you guys have done with this series is awesome.

Just one more thing I want to clear up: Turn 11, can we put 2 wheels on the inside of the kerb? As for Turn 12, can we go wide of the white line with 2 wheels or not?

Driver A accidentally bumps Driver B coming into turn.
Driver A passes Driver B.
Driver B is stuck in gravel traps and stays there for more than 30 seconds.
Driver A does not wait to give spot back.

(i.e. Ultrap and Hortus at Monza)
Current Judgement:
Offense - Gaining Time/Spot through contact without relinquishing

Revision:
Offense - Aggressive driving resulting to lost time
Penalty - will vary (minimum warning)

Driver A, slowing down to a point where it is not safe for everybody else on the track is not the smartest thing to do. I think relinquishing spots will only be viable if the cars involve is less than a few seconds from each other.
I don't understand where the 30 sec comes from...what if it's 5 or 10 or 29? Or is it just an example? Does this mean the resulting penalty will be equal to estimated time lost? BTW in the incident between myself and Hortus at Monza (used as example) total time lost was ~6 seconds (easily measurable in this case as the incident occurred in the last turn and the time difference at finish line was 5.8 or 5.7 sec IIRC). Penalty to me was 10 seconds under current rules. What would it be in the new system?

Just trying to understand the rationale behind the proposed change. Not complaining about my penalty.

Regarding turn 11: YES 👍

Regarding turn 12: YES, you can go "wide" as long as 2 wheels are inside or touching white line / Black-white curb.
The lap will be dirty if 3 wheels or more are outside of the white line / Black-white curb.

I hear you Ultrap.

We discussed this a couple of days ago, and I agree with you after giving it some thought.
I remember when we set up the current set of rules, and my thoughts was that an incident should not be judged by how the offended driver act/behave/shoose to do. It will only cause discussion.

Agressive driving will render a Warning as a minimum. If the aggressive driving also causes an off track situation, the penalty can turn in to added time instead of a warning. Same goes if a driver commits multiple smaller violations that not neccesarely ends up in pushing another car off track.
We also have this rule to go by:

"Illegal blocking/forcing cars off track (minimum 10 second penalty)"

If you force a car off track, and no dmage is caused, the minimum penalty is 10 sec as stated.
In your case, you did wait up far a few seconds, but did not give the spot back because HortusIX was pretty stuck in the sand. The fact that you did slow down and because of that lost 5-6 seconds, the minimum penalty was the most appropiate choice.

When looking at the penalty system, I think we got everything covered. Every time I recieve a question of "why did I get X penalty, and he got Y penalty?", in 100% of the cases, I've just pointed at the rule in the OP and then, everybody understands.
Sure, we can have discussions if all penalty levels are good / fair. But we always look in that table when judging incidents. It's the same for all. The best is ofc to stay clean. 💡 👍

I found the general racing rules on it but how do the mixed class races start?
I know it's in there somewhere but I just can't find it for the life of me.

Post 3. 👍

Mixed class
GT300's will sort their grid positions first. While GT300's sort their grid, GT500's DO NOT MOVE. GT300 cars move from the grid ONE by ONE in qualifying order.
The Pole car drives up and parks about 100 m (300 ft) ahead. (WHILE DOING SO, THE OTHER CARS DO NOT MOVE ONE INCH). As he pases the start line, the
next driver can move up, and so on. Once all cars are in the correct position and are NOT moving, the pole car may start the first of two formation laps. When
the first lap is completed, be sure to pass the parked GT500 pack with caution. As soon as the GT300 pack have passed the GT500 pack (It's not always that GT300's need to pass the GT500's to lead the formation lap, details will be provided by the host before race start), the GT500's may pull
away from the start line ONE by ONE in starting order. From here on, GT300's lead the formation lap, with GT500's about 45-60 seconds behind.

We use this procedure to try and ensure that all cars got a decent chance of completing the race before the timer (max 180 sec) runs out. By doing this, we
also get finishing times for (hopefully) all cars making any penalties incurred easier to apply.

With this in mind, follow the steps below:
  • First, you must remember your Grid Spot (Super Lap Qualifying).
  • Hold your positions when countdown reaches zero.
  • Cars will make their way ONE BY ONE to the front and roll as a separate pack.
  • Cars must roll at a maintained pace of 55 mph / 90 kmh.
  • Field will roll double file (Single file for the Nurburgring 24h race).
  • Odd numbers will start on the inside lane relative to turn 1.
  • Even numbers will stay on the outside lane (Opposite side).
  • The Pole sitter will decide the point at which the race starts as he approaches the start-finish line.
  • You must maintain a minimum of One car length between you and the car in front (same lane).
  • One car length is the minimum, meaning it's up to you how large the gap is.
  • You must always maintain FULL visual contact with the ahead of you (opposite lane).
  • You're front bumper must not overlap the rear bumper of the car ahead of you (oposite lane), doing so can be viewed as a false start and a penalty can be applied as a result.
  • You must wait for the car ahead of you (opposite lane) to accelerate before you do!
  • No passing before the start finish line! Penalties will be strictly enforced for false starts, illegal passing, and overall aggressive driving!

an incident should not be judged by how the offended driver act/behave/shoose to do. It will only cause discussion.

It's devastatingly simple. I really see no need for changes. It's either we're a serious racing league or we pick and choose. I'm with the former.

it seems to work the way it is , there is one thing i don't understand or i should say i haven't heard or seen anything about. last race i was forced off ending my race and what is the penalty for such a offense? a simple blocking penalty for causing some one to lose a minute or more limping all the way around the track, maybe a small penalty for for the block but i'm out valuable points just don't seem fair

lucky, I don't want to sound rude or anything. But the biggest reason of all that you did not get valuable points according to me is that you rage quited. 💡

If you had kept on racing, and stayed out of trouble, you'd most likely had passed Supra in the standings who caused you that block and damage. He got a 35 sec penalty for that (Illegal blocking / Causing avoidable damage). And I'm pretty sure you had not lost those 35 seconds by driving that lap with damage. Sure, you would've had to plan a bit different for your strategy, but I'm sure youd finished somewhere around 5-7th if you had kept going. I doubt it would take 1 minute extra to drive around Monza with damage. I know that this happened to you on the start/finish straight (The worst place possibleto recieve damage (as far away from the pits as you can get)), but it would not take you 1 minute extra.

Yeah if you really felt like you had been done wrong and was spun out because of it next time something like that happens just smile, and continue on because chances are that the person who did that to you will get a hefty penalty thus compensating you for the trouble they caused you. We always find them 👍

Don't sweat it though, it always gets better and there's always a pain period :).

Room up.

EDIT:

Looking forward to quali. Did the routine in practice and got 1:29.887 on the first run then 1:29.483 on the second run, stoked.

did you see that i had damage to all four corners of the car and drive train my car was completely damaged i have never had a car that badly damaged.i figured that i would just quit and not ruin another drivers race by hitting/getting ran over or spinning in front of someone.i have a very clean reputation on :gtplanet: that i would like to keep. but that was then and this is now :gtpflag:
