i asked over a month ago if there were any GT-R's available and was told that all were taken did i miss somebody dropping out?

You've missed a lot of drivers who got dropped that was in a GT-R.

avohman, L_Hamilton, SUPRA_LORD to name a few.

Is the Z available or not? I went to the sign up form and the Z didnt show up. Im still breaking in the cars to get the max HP and then I'll start the testing.

I believe I had the same issue, only 2 cars showed when I signed up, the next day others signed up for cars that weren't available on my sheet.

Maybe you should choose one if the GTR if one is available so I can get in the NSX again as I need a team mate ASAP and it's not good in this series not too have a team mate as chorda knows this.

Just been running the Cusco Dunlop the past couple of hours. I've already known in the past that the Cusco is much more stable (under-steers) than the tail happy Lexus - after running about 10 races tonight, I noticed a sizable difference in pace compared to the Lexus. Both under WSGTC specs and with stock setups. I easily beat my pace on the Lexus by at least 1 to 1.5 seconds (In Nurburgring GP, Fuji, and Suzuka). I'm not doubting the skills of the likes of Andy (Moleman) but i thought I'd just share my observations.

Thoughts?

Anyway, i spotted a few good runners along the way; whom I've asked to visit our thread. Hopefully, they'll pass by and drop a line.

In future. Why not place all new drivers into gt300's on the understanding that if they perform well next season they could join the gt500's? Create a promotion and relegation system

The Lexus is too slow imo, and requires a huge amount of setup work to be drivable on a fast pace - the suspension needs to be tweaked a lot; simply don't think it's possible to drive it quickly with stock setup. So, don't think a stock vs stock comparison is possible at all. I gave up trying to make the Lexus drivable, I could dial out the massive oversteer but lost pace as a result (only way I could manage it properly was to mess with the Diff which is much less than optimal) - really think that car needs a power improvement or something. Try comparing laptimes with the WSGTC-Spec IS350 vs. the Arta or Celica for example, would bet the gap will be just as large.

I already asked in pre-season for the Impreza to be double-checked by Aderrrm because it felt quicker than the IS350 or RX7 which I was also looking at racing, he confirmed it was ok. On that note I also think the RX7 is too slow in comparison to the other wsgtc-spec cars atm which is much of the reason I didn't want to drive it.

Because drivers choose which class they want to drive in - I don't like the large power of the GT500 cars for example, so choose to drive a GT300 instead. It shouldn't be GT500 being the "fast drivers" class and GT300 the "slow drivers".

After about an hour of testing with the Supra, the GTR and the Lexus, I chose the Lexus. The Supra was just the worst of all, at least with me. The GTR and the Lexus were pretty close, but the Lexus was much easier to drive so I opted to go with the easier car. Looking forward to racing here. 👍

Edit: Denilson which ID should I add? chorda or GTP_chorda?

Dont forget we need a driver photo if you dont mind maybe i could be your team mate if your in the Lexus petronas as i dont have a team mate in this series even tho ive changed car 2 during mid season which your arnt supposed to do i will hapily pay for any penailties i face and may give someone a free car. 👍

What times are you guys roughly getting around Indi? Last season was high 1:28's/1:29's. Managed to get consecutive mid 1:29's, PB being 29.400, so I'm hoping I can get a decent grid position with that this Friday.

Agreed the Lexus does have weird under then oversteer and shouldn't be tested stock. Seems the downforce is very good too in the sense that it struggles at the top end on a straight. The Impreza meanwhile is the easiest car to drive the quickest if you know what I mean. The Impreza remember does have the worst tyre wear.

The Garaiya and RX7 have always seemed identical in pace to me, even though the RX7 is easier to drive. So when I was testing I thought it would be wise to make the other cars pace similar to theirs. I don't think you can call the RX7 slow without calling the Garaiya slow too. I didn't get much feedback from the GT300 drivers after testing so it's sort of hard to test a group of cars round a track and make them all similar race pace. The big factor is driving styles. I can definitely say all the cars are within 0.7 second of each other around GP/F but I'm sure a lot of you couldn't say the same.

Here is my driver photo. Yes, I have caught the Jeff Gordon virus. lol

Edit: The picture isnt showing up, i dont know what i did wrong. Its basically the Jeff Gordon suit.

lol nep. You tried dragging your photo into the web browser and it simply opened the picture from your drive but didn't upload it. Use this image host to do that more easily:

http://www.min.us

Also, there's some confusion in your car selection; the three available cars are: Petronas Tom's Lexus, Xanavi Nismo Z (which I think you'd like), and the Motul Autech GT-R. No Supras available at the moment 👍

PB my time in the Lexus is 1min31.2sec not great if im honest

The lexus (gt500) i feel seems to be the easiest to control and more forgiving than gtr.

Anyway is there room still open, if not i will open 1 in about an hour
