[GUIDE] Historic Racing Car Cup

If your B-Spec level is high enough then the easiest way to do it is to win Like the Wind in B-Spec and use the Toyota 7 you get from that.

If not, it's winnable with a few cars like the Countach, Camaro Z28 RM, Shelby Cobra, and of course the 20M race cars. It's a challenge without the Toyota 7 though.

Wait till you try to get b spec Brian around their. Some definate dodgy pitting manoeuvres after you leave the tunnel.

Great fun redstarting this race over and over........

Brilliant!... tried this last night and it worked perfectly...
Could not finish better than 7'th or 8'th first three tries...::grumpy:

After reading your post:

-bought the stabilizers (had the turbo already)...
-changed gear ratio
-reset to default suspension tuning
-changed the toe angle

That did the trick... won it on my next try! :)

It took five laps to get to 1'st place but it was an obvious improvement.

THANKS! 👍

Will try this tonight.

any advise for B-spec mode??? Please
have Toyota 7 Race car, easy win in the fist race. 2nd race max is fourth. attempt 10 time.

Firstly, buy a set of racing medium tyres, the mid range turbo and the rigity improvement. Then go find a good tune or make your own, make sure the top speed is set to about 280km/h (worked for me). Once you've got the car tuned, get your driver up to a high level (Bob was at 19) and is in good form (blue arrow). If he's any good, he'll win. A 2J was on the front row too, and it got overtaken on the 5th lap, and then I kept Bob in the red until he built a decent lead and the 2J paced down into the blue.

If you work with that, winning shouldn't be too hard.

Hello everyone,

I've noticed a lot of people - myself included - have been having trouble with this event (first up: I'm using a controller)... Anyway, the usual line up of opponents consists of cars like the Toyota 7, Chaparral 2J, Ferrari P4, Ford Mark IV, etc.

HOWEVER, the way I - and a few others - have completed this event, is with the Lamborghini Countach LP400 '74.

GOOD LUCK!

FANTASTIC HELP... Did this just as Morsolo explained, thanks! After trying this about 5 times each finishing 3rd and then 2nd a few times... I managed to make it at both tracks!

Great Tips!

Additional Suggestions:

Forest Race:

Set Speed up two clicks... but be sure to get a good start, its crucial. Also, I set the ABS to 4 and the traction to 2 with ASM on! This helped me managed the Hard Braking and WFO turns!

For Cote... set the speed down two clicks from stock settings. Also set Downforce higher/increase! As Morsolo stated, you need third in turn one or no Chaparral/Toyota's in front.

In both races the Fast Cars sat ahead, they do mostly... but you can bump (NASCAR Style) your way into turns 1-3 at both tracks!

I know this is not the most enjoyable race, but saves Big Credits.

Now the Disappointing Facts...:

All this for a F%#K'g Rally Car STANDARD and since this is also all I need for completing the section I got a Free Lvl 17 Car... and Won the HKS Drifting/Touring GT Car... STANDARD!

WTF... two Standard cars!

OK, I'm no GAME DEVELOPER/CREATOR... but would it have been so Freaking Hard to say win you win the Historic Series, simply allow the Winner to Select a car from the RACE!

I would think I would have been awarded a P4 330, or the Toyota so my Billy Bob Idiots could race!

You would think if they wanted to really make it enjoyable, since after all this is not the Real Cars... simply allow you to select a car from the race/class!

Example: American Muscle.... Pick the Chaparral 2J or the Panoz... but no, you get a Sh%^T Car!

Sorry I drifted and vented... Ooops!

Anyway, save you money and use the Lamb 74!

Won this with a Corvette '63 racecar. High rev turbo and supersofts. Only tuning was to drop the suspension and put some camber on. Hard work but fun.

Yesterday I got my Cobra and fully tuned it. I did not have a chance yet. Too much wheel spin and a very hard suspension. I couldn't tune it properly yet. I gonna try again tonight, but I do not think I will have a chance at all.

I used the Shelby Cobra 66 and won both events fairly easy, you can tune it to over 700 bhp with all upgrades including a supercharger .
It's a lot of fun to drive and stays ahead of the other cars on the straits, but takes a bit of skill on the corners.

The Countach just didn't work for me, not enough power to keep ahead on the straits, and too much understeer on the corners even fully tuned.

I won both A Spec & B Spec with the Chapparel 2D, takes some fiddling with the settings, downforce and transmission, but it's possible. B Spec took about 6 attempts Deep forest, 2 for Monarco.

I did this yesterday in both a spec and b spec mode and found that a lot of the information here concerning the Toyota 7 helped. I find that car horrible to drive, there is absolutely to slide or give in that car in the corners but winning a spec although annoying was not really that hard in the end.

Winning b spec at Deep Forest should also be easy in b spec. But at Monaco I was having huge problems winning it. The difference maker for me was instead of getting my normal level 21 driver to take the race, I gave it to a new driver who was level 0. Make sure you set the top speed at 155 mph to make sure you get the most acceleration as possible.

The Lv 0 driver drives more aggresively all the time than my higher level driver.

My advice is

Push him hard at first and he should get up to around 5-6th in the first lap.
Only overtake in the first part of the tunnel, telling him to overtake before the chicane will mean he will probably hit the wall
Make steady progress and try to lead by about the 6th lap
By the end your driver will be completely out of strength, what you need to do is increase pace for the first half of a lap, then after the tunnel and the chicane reduce massively to blue side so that he doesnt hit the tight corner before the home straight.
When in the lead stay between grey middle area (first part of lap), blue (second part of the lap)

But yeah a level 0 driver sticks less to the driving line, dives in front of other cars in the tight hairpins and corners and has less regard for keeping your car looking pretty and more regard in aggressively getting in front of people.

I'm a decidedly average driver (mostly silvers on license tests - 'cept the easy ones) and I did Cote pretty easily using a fully upgraded Lambo (apart from gearbox) - stock settings except downforce set to max and two points of brake balance added to the front (7/5). Two things make this easy.....

- Get to 1st by the first corner - easy if you go hard right at the start and take the inside line.
- Straight line (as much as possible) the chicane after the tunnel.

I'll try Forest tonight, but I think this is going to be much harder without the narrow track and a Ferrari in 2nd to hold up he faster cars.

i did it with the countach lp400 once you get you lap times down too 15-17 you got it nailed just have to get out front by lap 2...the second race i won by 3 seconds and i didnt even buy the full race tranny lol

I used the Jaguar XJ13 Race Car '66 with stage 3 turbo & soft tires. Prize car from the Indy 500 endurance race.

One thing to make life a bit easier is to keep restarting the race waiting for the lineup where the Chaparral 2D Race Car '67 is at least in the second row, not first row.

A first turn pile up at Monaco doesn't hurt either.

I just won the Cote D'Azur race with the Camaro, then went to Deep Forest. I was ahead on the third lap, went into a skid at the first tunnel, and the PS3 started making a pretty horrid vibrating sound, so I shut it off.

Here I just returned to the game after a couple of days.

Edit/update - Got Deep Forest with the Camaro, so that's done. I'm a little disappointed in myself that I tuned a car that much, even adding a supercharger. Anyway, I just have the All Stars race left on Expert.

As stated above, I'm a way average driver and I just did forest pretty easily too. I was really worried about this race with all this talk, but I've had no probs. My tips:

Car: Lambo fully modded including wing.

Setup: Max downforce on wing. 2 point of brake balance on front. F:7 / R:5. Everything else stock.

Driving: LEFT FOOT BRAKING. Leaving a bit of gas on whilst braking is key to balancing the lambo I think.

Cote: Hard right on grid, get to first on first corner. Straight line chicane after tunnel.

Forest: Hard left on grid, get to first on first corner.

As long as you don't make any grevious errors, it should be ok. My total time for the forest race was 6:26.138. Good luck.
