[GUIDE] Historic Racing Car Cup

Just acquired the Chapparel 2D '67. You guys think it would do well, tuned and what-not?

Both Chapparels and the Toyota 7 wins it easy ...

Aced Monaco with the 2J (UCD 14,4 million credits), almost lapped the last car and won by 30 or so seconds ...

2J and Toyota 7 can win easily. The 1st time I win the event is driving the dodge challenger RM with blocking other car and zero mistake.

To the OP, lower the top speed to about 170 MPH as you will rarely exceed that speed at a technical circuit like Monaco.

The 2J is only an issue when it starts in the top 4 in A-Spec. If you start next to or in front of the 2J, by getting a good start you can use the track to your advantage by stuffing the 2J into the wall in numerous locations. There is no 2nd groove for the AI to follow at Monaco and due to this, many AI drivers crash at either the chicane following the tunnel or the last right turn before the sweeping left onto the front straight. Once one AI crashes in the latter location, if he's running in a pack of cars at least two or 3 others will plow into him and cause a bigger wreck.

The first time I raced Monaco (on my 2nd account), this is exactly what happened as the only 2J in the race crashed twice (not including a turn one squeeze into the outside barrier) and finished 8th.

TaurusSHO-- I know some guys say search but it isn't always that simple.
Set your option controls to Off except skid recovery and ABS to 1

Set the two out to .20
When you get out front of the 2J take his line away. If you need to rub him against the wall - do so- don't drive to crash him but block into the wall on the two functional straights.

Im having problems with this event. I finished the Deep Forest race but I cant win the Cote De Azur race. Its only one car im having problems with and everytime I try it is a Chapparel 2J. I can see they banned it in real life, its on my tail the entire time and then when it finally get by me it just pulls away. Theres no way I can catch back up to it. My car is 71 Mustang Mach 1 fully modded, the only settings i have changed is the:
Downforce-full
LSD accel sensitivty-full
ride height-slammed
trans top speed-160 or so

can you guys suggest anything?

Thank you for your advice guys, I used some of it and finally beat it. I got really lucky the 2J was 5th so it started right in front of me. The first try was a bust, I was unable to clear a 2D and the 2J got a real good start. By the 2nd or 3rd lap the 2D had pulled away but i was too busy blocking the 2J. So I couldnt try and go after the 2D so I quit. The 2nd time was the charm, easy as pie. Something must of happened to the 2J becuase it finished 10th. the coolest part was the 2 cars on the podium with me was a 69 GT40 followed by a 67 Mk IV. Being that I was in the Mustang and Im a huge Ford nut, it was cool having the two classic GT40s in my mirror the entire race.

Just completed this yesterday. Used the '60 Z06 Corvette. Corte was no cake walk, but I believe after the 2nd attempt I had it licked, won by about 2 seconds.

It's a cheaper alternative to the 20 mil cars and the difficulty of the Lambo

Yes, I did read that the Ferrari 512BB isn't good for the historic race, but I'd be ready to buy this car and fully tune it. I'd like to do the B-Spec Historic Racing Car Cup and win the Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO, but I also don't want to buy a car for the race that I don't like. So my question is, would the 512BB, fully tuned and optimized be suitable for the race (of course with Bob driving it)? If not, is there any other Premium car, except for the 20M ones, that would be good?

The Toyota 7 Race Car would win.
You can win it from Like The Wind in B-Spec.
Or you could get a 2J from the Birthday Glitch.
A 512BB + Bob = Somebody getting hurt

I doubt that Bob could win with a 512BB.

Just grind till you reach like the wind, win that event with bob, then try historic cup again with a Toyota 7.

i think 512BB is not a good idea. about premium cars, i did it in shelby cobra, so maybe bob will be able to do this too

The 2J will eat your 512bb for lunch and do an extra lap before you finish, just to piss you off.

 Epic 👍

A Spec - I used the RM'd version of the '70 Challenger R/T.Difficult,but do-able.

B Spec - '69 Vette (L46 350). Warm it up a bit and Bob can do it. (pending on how you control him)

The first car I tried to complete this series with was the 512BB, and the thing was simply not fast enough to stay ahead of the 2js and toyota 7s. Maybe I just suck, but I can't really see it being done.

So is there any reasonably priced Premium car that can do this even with Bob? (I know there's also UCD but I'd really like to get a Premium one)

I recommend leaving this championship until your Bob wins you a Toyota 7 in the B-Spec like the wind. :sly:

lol ok so i've been reading up how to do this cup everywhere for a-spec...i haven't messed with b-spec to much because the drivers piss me off to much sitting behind ppl.....anyways i've rm'd the 69 camaro....fully tuned the lambo and even maxed out the challanger...seriously haven't had a problem with a single race until these i cannot catch the lead car. i have about 3 mill in credits an not a clue as to wtf i'm doing wrong....i added a wing to the lambo for help but the steering is just ridiculous....anyone got a 2j to lend for the 2 races? i haven't seen any of the cars posted in the online i'm guessin they go pretty fast...but ya otherwise my bugati just takes car of everything with 1234 hp..

i was able to do it with the Ferrari 512BB '76. You'll need to adjust the transmission to lower top speed so it'll pick up speed faster. A good place to over take is at the hairpin. Stay on the inside and you'll always be able to out brake them and make the pass.

For me b-spec was easier than i expected. Toyota 7 is a great car for that race. Its lightweight and with 920HP, you'll blow past the 2J with ease. It won't be able to pass you once you get infront.

I struggled a lot with the côte'dezur A-spec. But I unlocked the jaguar car (the one which costs 20mil, but i can't remember the name - XJ13 or something).

And won in 2nd try. You might wanna put it on the list :-)

Can't remember in which event i unlocked it, but it was like 34 b-spec or something like that :D

I finally managed this in the Toyota 7, which I won by golding 'Like the Wind' in B-Spec after buying the FGT. Do not waste your money tuning the Shelby Cobra! It handles like a pile of steaming [insert word here]. Although credit to B-Spec Bob, he did manage to bronze both races in the Cobra - took him many attempts though.

As for the prize car being rubbish? Are you kidding, the Stratos is an awesome rally car. Essentially a dirt track Ferrari, brilliant stuff!

Yea man that Cobra is a mess, an insult to the name! I took it round the twisty alpine track for a laugh. I got bumped and just did doughnuts trying to get back on the track! Ridiculous machine. Then I maxed the TC and other aids and took first! ( against Golfs and other hot hatches)
As for the Stratos- you can win that? Me want!

Have you ever driven a short-wheelbase RWD car with a power to weight ratio like that of the Cobra? Particularly one with numbers that match what I'm sure you did with the in-game Cobra, which was put every mod possible on it? And done so as ham-fistedly as most people drive GT5?

The GT5 Cobra is right on the money.

Did it with the Lambo. I was lucky and the 7 and Chap were 4,5. I was able to get in front of them by corner one and follow the P3 most of the first lap. Last corner prior to the straight stretch, the P3 really short brakes (it seems) and I tend to coast through it applying gentle throttle and can catch the P3 by the start finish. The trick was not to go flying in the first corner by watching the rearview to much! LOL!.

Cote was a one and done for me. I used the OP's setting but moved the diff more to my liking of 10/20/10. TCS at 1 or 0, I cant remember. Want to say it was one. Get good at accelerating through the tunnels, especially number 2 short tunnel as the 2J and 7 like to hug the right side but lose momentum.

I also found, as much like other racing games, that you need to find that margin of accelerating or maintaining. Sometimes 3/4 throttle works. Sometimes 1/3 works. You dont always have to accelerate full throttle. By maintaining speed is almost always just as good as you dont give up time.

Regardless, if either the 2J or 7 get in front...kiss em good bye.

Err, i havent put anything on the cobra, its as is, just different tyres! The original cobra was an AC Cobra, a British sports car. This car is an americanised version! All power no shower

Yes, it's a handful to drive, but it can be done. Mine gets around the various tracks quite quickly. Perhaps the issue doesn't lie with the vehicle, but elsewhere?
