I've worked on a couple LT1 cars and it was a bit tough to do things.

Personal opinion here, but I'd supercharge it. I don't like turbo on a muscle car too much.
If you want to dd this the only real option is to turbo it imo. Sticking n/a would mean lots of cubes a radical cam, and expensive heads, a procharger is it's own hassle like you just said. With a turbo you can dial it down for the street and set it to kill when you want too. Oh and your looking at way more than 600 whp with room to grow.I'm on the fence too. On a street car superchargers are much more of a hassle. Changing boost means changing belts, mpg will be in the low teens, constant boost will be harder on the motor...
Instant torque is great but I plan on DD'ing this as far as I can![]()
For now I plan on focusing on suspension and getting the power to the pavement. I can still break em loose in 2nd at nearly stock power levels...
lol
Bellevue College atm, hoping to transfer to UW. Major in Electrical Engineering, so it may be somewhat automotive??![]()
Have fun putting a cam in without tearing the front end apart or pulling the motor.
Does it reach though? The LT1 cars I have worked on didn't seem to have much room down in front because of the core support that runs the width of the car.
I know what they are. Both engines are about the same size and installed the same so it doesn't much matter what's in it.
Might as well drop the motor out the bottom because pulling it from the top will be a nightmare...and while you got it out you might as well go to town on it.
To pull it from the bottom a lift is needed.
