@cgg they're in exactly the same place as a regular Jazz Bass. Probably just look further forward because there's no scratch/control plate. I have the same issue as you though, I play with a pick and often knock the neck volume control when playing!

Yeah my mistake, it was the lack of control plate and the side mounted jack that did it. It's normally not an issue for me, just when playing chordal stuff. I can't use a pick to save my life!

Currently rocking these two lovelies at home. I've another 2 acoustics and a Gibson Les Paul but I rarely play that.

There's some lovely axes around here!!

The acoustic one on the left is actually mine, and the LP on the right belongs to my brother, but he doesn't touch it a lot anymore, so I use it. :P

Ι did a search, so they are stacked hummies as I thought, never had seen a Gibson with singles so it makes sense. Btw how do you color your text? :D

Gibsons with real P90's are single-coil. :P

And for the text, it's [COLOR="(color here)"]👍

Going to make a clock out of this pretty awesome piece of 🤬 First Act Guitar. I bought the guitar and a really nice backpack gig bag for $20. Any harm for that price? 👍

EDIT: That was not to difficult to be honest. Picture be up in a minute.

EDIT: FINAL PRODUCT

@Decambre95 , it is pink... your favorite color!

Ok, I think my next project will be to put in a clock with a dial and a crystal (glass/plastic covering over the hands). This would require drilling a larger hole. But the guitar would still be playable. :) 👍

Don't have a picture, but my pops recently picked me up a guitar at an auction for $60. It is an Acoustic Fender DG-8S. Very nice sounding. I looked it up and it was a $200 piece. It came with a nice bag and a couple set of strings. Brand new condition. Very pleased with it. 👍

My latest toy, though in the "budget" category (Squier territory) is my second most expensive bass!

This being my most expensive, bought about 19 years ago, second-hand.

I don't have any images of my other three basses!

Looks like a John Patitucci Yamaha. Very nice!

Just ordered one of these, waited a long time for a Matt Bellamy signature that is actually affordable. Have to wait a while for delivery though, end of July.

Ok so..., this is kind of a preview shot. Instead of make an entirely new threads of just Amps and Cabs, I thought I would drop this backline shot here.

Note, these are not guitar amps, but bass amps so I'm really stretching the rules here.

From left to right we have:

  • Yamaha Powered 3-channel monitor. Great for home practice and acoustic bass support in quiet settings.
  • Bergantino IP112 sitting on a Bergantino EX112 extension cab. Both are 12" speakers, the top with a horn. The back of the IP112 is a 1,000w Class D amp with custom DSP for those exact speakers. Custom built by Jim Bergantino. I use a Demeter preamp with that setup.
  • Next we have a class Ampeg 4x10 ported cab with a 300w Ampeg SVT CL all tube head sitting on top.
  • Next we have "The Fridge", ampegs flagship 8x10 classic cabinet used in almost every live rock backline in America. It's "the standard".
  • Next we have a Fender Super Bassman 300w all tube head as well. It's sitting on two Fender Neo 4x10 cabs both loaded with tweeters that have adjustable attenuators on the back.
So there you have it. I am prepared for ANY kind of venue that I can think of with this setup.

Lovely! Mrs. Ten a) applauds you on the choice of a fretless and b) wants to know all about the dopple-bass :)

Thank you. The fretless is amazing with plenty of tone, growl and and of course Mwahhhhhhhhhh for days. :)

The Upright DB is a Brescian that I commissioned Upton Bass to make for me. Back and sides are a spruce veneer with a solid spruce top. Because of the mix of laminate and solid carved top, it's considered a Hybrid, as in....it's not a carved bass, but it's really a laminate bass either. The advantage is to have the tone of a carved bass but the durability of a laminate bass as I plan to play out and actually gig and use this bass in real world applications. :) Here are some fact snippets from their site:

The award-winning Brescian Model Upton Double Bass, handmade in our Mystic, Connecticut workshop, is a modern instrument with roots in the 16th century inspired by our favorite historic double basses.

The “Brescian School” refers to a tradition of contrabass building established in the northern Italian city of Brescia in the 1500s. The instruments of this style, such as those of Gasparo Bertoletti da Salo, Maggini and Rogeri, are dramatically characterized by their generous proportions and powerful projection. The style was brought to England by Vincenzo Panormo in the 18th century, influencing builders such as Lott, Kennedy, Fendt and Hawkes over generations. Reverberations of these great instruments can be heard to this day in the robust basses of Thomas and George Martin.

While Upton Bass has referenced these classic instruments before, the Brescian directly mirrors those archetypal double basses in its design - large shoulders, violin corners, deep ribs, dramatic top arching and pronounced canted backs. These qualities combine to create a larger air mass with great resonance and rich harmonics, packaged with the the ergonomics, geometry and accessibility that modern players expect from Upton Bass.

From the first hybrid prototype we knew this would be a special bass! Within a year, a Brescian Model won the Best Sound Award from the European Society of Bassists at their 2012 convention in Copenhagen.

The Brescian can be set up as a jazz cannon pushing the rhythm section with tremendous string response. When bowed for classical music, deep and clearly pitched pipe-organ lows will lift the string section. Roots and bluegrass players will feel increased depth, string feel and boom in every note. And as with all Upton Basses, we will consult with you directly to make sure we craft an instrument that is truly yours.

Special Deluxe instruments can be commissioned using our unique selection of rare tone woods. The Copenhagen Competition Bass is a solid wood flatback built with select English Sycamore (similar instruments approximately $15,000)

The Brescian Model Features:

- Design referenced directly from the Italian and English masters
- Full proportions packaged with excellent ergonomics and neck access
- Pronounced arching, violin corners, full depth ribs and Kennedy ff-holes
- Angled neck heel, canted back and modern fingerboard projection
- Dark tone with rich harmonics, great projection and volume

Every UB Brescian Bass is built by hand in Mystic, Connecticut, USA.

So after a change of heart I decided not to go with a Cort MBC1 Matt Bellamy signature edition and decided to go with something more versatile and with much higher build quality after hearing some poor thing's about the Corts. After some extensive research and playing different guitars in stores I decided on a newly released Fender Standard Jazzmaster HH. Alder body, maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, medium jumbo frets, vintage style 2 piece bridge and tremolo. Excellent pickups, both blacktop humbuckers, great for modern, high gain and aggressive tone. Has a coil tap on the tone pot as well to give even more versatility by splitting the humbuckers to use just the outside coils. Absolutely love it and to be honest, never really though I would ever go for a Fender.
