This is a late 80's to early 90's Ibanez RG-550 in Desert Sun Yellow, dolled up to look like an Ibanez Jem of the same color. Worth about $300. Fun guitar. I almost bought one in the mid 80's but got the 540 instead.

Ahh...cool! Yeah, not sure on the model. Where could I look to verify the model? It seems that's about what my bro paid for it back in the day... He took it to the pawn shop where his friend found it and rescued it for $150. He moved out of the area but left the guitar in storage where it was stolen... Just before Christmas, my bothers friend was talking with a buddy in the bar about guitars and he started telling the story how his guitar that he rescued got stolen at which time, this guy pulls a picture of the very same guitar that he bought from another pawn shop. My bothers wife, unknown to my brother, found out about it and bought it off of the guy for $300 and gave it to my brother for Christmas where it now sits in the studio. So....for a $300 guitar, it has a marketed street value of about $600. :)

If you'd told me up front that it had hot pink knobs, I'd have thought - there's no way that works. But with a lemon colored body and neon pickups, they fit right in.

My Jackson has arrived, it's the best guitar I've ever played! I'll take some pics when I get to use a camera, I kinda killed mine with sand.

This is what your guitar is...

This is what your guitar is trying to mimic...

Pretty hardcore stuff there Pako. Is that the green machine you're playing? You've definitely got a good death metal thing going on.

Yeah it is the green machine.... Lots of fun.... :)

Sorry guys...didn't mean to kill this thread.....

So do we have any other guitars to post? I'd love to see another PRS or the like.... :D

So yeah, after a long wait I finally have a new guitar! Here she is.

It's my epiphone LP Junior model with my Marshall MG10KK.. (The kerry king practice amp) weird combo, but It melds well. I want to swap the stock pickups out for an invader, and take it to a shop to get it professionally set up and whatnot (it's a 99 dollar guitar.. a lot of fret buzz and such..) But I love it. Way better than that peavy.

I've played one of those. The one thing that stands out about that guitar is the neck action. I found it so easy to bend the strings and get some pretty neat stuff out of it. 👍

Wow, some pretty amazing gear posted all through this thread.
I've got one. No PRS or anything (sorry Pako), but I am in love with it and have been for many years.

It's a ESP Eclipse (the old one - new models are fugly, imo).

I took the pics right after I changed strings, so now those loose ends are gone. I hate having antennas on my guitar.

Believe it or not, that vinyl sticker is over 15 years old. I had it on my previous guitar and swapped it to this one almost 10 years ago.

It was kinda hard to find a good left-handed guitar over here, I had to order this one from Japan and it costed me (back then) the equivalent to €1100.

I have:

Aria Pro II ZZ Blueburst Explorer
Ibanez Jem7VWH (older, with the ebony board and lo-pro)
Alexi Laiho copy with unknown body and Jackson 24 fret neck

@Beerz:

The guitar player in my band is a lefty. I get to hear all the horror stories of jacked up prices on the lefty instruments. Good look axe there. :)

Thanks, Pako. :)👍

Yeah, it's a real nightmare and totally unfair for left-handed players. Not only we have far less to choose from, but we also get the 'bonus' of paying extra (and by a lot usually).

I've been meaning to change the pickups on my baby for a long, long time. Last week I finally decided on slapping the EMG's (60 & 81) on it, will probably pick them up next week.

I'm not planning on getting another guitar ever, unless something really bad happens to this one or I win the lottery. :D

And you shouldn't. That thing is absolutely gorgeous . Shame it's all backwards, though :sly:.

Tend to play acoustic these days, but this is my electric. Joe Satriani series with custom frets :)

I'm new here by the way, thought this would be a good way to say hello!

That's no Joe. It's a S540LTD. Joe Satch guitars are dual humbucker only guitars. But, the Joes all use a 540 style body, though.

Well, as I think I've explained before I've started learning guitar (Finally....) and at the moment don't have any of my own instruments per say. I'm borrowing (permanently) my brothers old Acoustic, its not a fancy one at all, its just an acoustic guitar. And then I tend to quickly "steal" his Epiphone Les Paul Special II and his Roland Cube amp for some fun.

I intend to buy myself a guitar hopefully buy the end of the year. I've got my eyes on several types of guitar I thought I'd show you them and perhaps you can tell me if you've heard anything good about them, or more importantly very good. Please consider I'm not really into heavy metal stuff I'm more softer rock than that, more Foo Fighters and perhaps some punk/rock like Sum 41 and Blink-182.

First One:

Wesley Tupelo Black Gothic Plaintop Semi Electric Guitar

I like the looks of this guitar plus its not too expensive, one of my friends say they are pretty decent makes of guitar and I like the style of this guitar (Kinda a copy of what Grohl uses which makes me happy)

Second One:

Epiphone G400 Fitted Neck SG

I like this one too although I think the price is a bit much considering my brother got his pretty good Les Paul for £149. I personally don't want to go down the route of getting a Les Paul though, not my kind of thing and I'm not all for crazy shapes either. Apparently concerning the SG it gives very bad sound. I'm not sure though.

If anyone can suggest me a decent guitar under £200 that be good, I'm not too fussed about getting myself an amp for awhile I'll just use my brothers.

These are a few of my working guitars when I'm out doing the "Classic Rock" thing. Nothing too valuable or dear.

The first is the Takamine F-360 SC with the accuacoustic preamp.

The second is a cheap Tokai Les Paul copy tuned for slide. Strings: 10-46

Third is my late 80's Japanese Fender Strat with gold EMG's. I took the float and locking nut off. The only reason I use this strat is because of the big Les Paul type frets which are so rare on these necks. Strung 10-46.

Last is the Les Paul Flametop. Beauty. Strung 9-42.
