Squiers are like you said 'entry' level guitars so don't expect something uber. I would also consider not buying extra pickups and saving the money because the addition won't have the effect youre prolly expecting, especially if youre playing through a squier pack amp.

Alnico parts are on some mid level Ibanez guitars so it cant be too terrible. And before you buy those pickups make sure you know how to replace them. If youre doing it at home you need soldering ability. Well at least I think so because Ive seen people change stock to Air Nortons/DiMarzios/SD's.

And to the dude who got the Epiphone instead of the Pacifica, bad decision imo.

.

Agreed. I'd instead save for a Mexican made Strat from Fender, and replace the pick-ups :)

Yea, I've decided to scrap the new pickups idea and save for a new guitar and pedals.
It will be quite a while before I get a new guitar (maybe 12 months) and I am looking at getting a Jackson or maybe and Ibanez RG.

Good decision

I've heard the Jackson Soloist is good.

I vouch the Ibanez RG1570. It's uber awesome. It's around 1k AUD.
Don't ever get the RG350DX/EX's though. It's Edge III tremolo system is retarded. It will take a solid 15 minutes to re-tune and re-string. Plus it's made of piss weak soft metal that will eventually wear out in 6 or so months.

Also look into the ESP LTD series guitars.

I picked the guitar I had wanted from day one, well not my dream guitar but it's one step closer, anyway I don't need telling that after I've bought the thing do I? It's not like I'd take it back especially when it plays as good as it does.

My dad is pretty good on guitar, and I pick it up occasionally and seem to be able to learn things pretty easily. We have a '73 (ish) white strat and a BC Rich Warlock. :tup:I think i'm going to be playing a lot more often within the coming months,

Naw thats a Yamaha Pacifica 012, entry level of their electric range, not a bad sounding guitar at all mind.

Sold my Jackson V & my Dean From Hell since my last post, I've also bought a Stagg acoustic bass & just now, the best axe I've ever bought!

Nice guitar, but I hate jumbo frets. Plus, it's too wide and has a compound radius neck. That means I can't service it myself (as I have no clue how to refret a compound radius fingerboard).

But, these guitars are awesome. I looked at them a lot back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Congrats on a great guitar!

Finally got the tracking number, should arrive on Tueday! For some reason it's gone from Ohio to Kentucky, when it's coming to the UK. More pics when it comes!

So, thinking of replacing my current electric, second hand Squier Telecaster Custom 72, not really getting on with it at all, only coast me £110 second hand after my Pacifica 012 broke.

HEaded to the guitar shop today to have a look, played on a Yamaha RGX A2 and oh my god, I fell in love, with the sound, the feel, the look, the play, absolutely fantastic. USes this A.I.R technology (Alternative Interal Resonance) something like a softer wood with air pockets sandwiched between 2 pieces of harder wood, ultra light weight (5kg!) and has amazing sustain. Beautiful neck, really smooth and nice to hold, excellent fretboard. It really is beautiful to behold, lovely colour, looks almost futuristic for a guitar of this style, has a very nice pickup selector, just a regular 3 position dial instead of the usual toggle switch, but it also has colored lights to display which pickup/s being used. At £369 im very seriously considering this baby. Played it on a Vox VT 15, which is what i use at home so I could get an accurate listening to it in comparison to my current guitar.

I had a Warrior guitar, like this:

I know the photo isn't a Warrior one, but I couldn't find any Warrior website.

That neck and the fingerboard look down-right gorgeous 👍

Compound radius, that's why. Plus, all premium made guitars have a super-flat neck and fingerboard when they're new. Plus, the action on it is super low, which I like. But, since I play a lot (or used to) I always needed my action higher or I'll get a lot of fret buzz.

Here are two of my old guitars. Both now sadly sold . It's two PRS Custom 24s, the yellow one is an '86 and the sunburst is an '87

So I'm interested in buying a guitar and I have my eyes on this one. It has pretty solid reviews and I understand Epiphones are pretty reliable. For an amp I was looking at a Line 6 too so any feedback on Line 6 products?

I'm also looking into buying a guitar sometime soon.
I already have my main guitar picked out (PRS SE Paul Allender), but the thing is: I'm completely lost when it comes to what acoustic guitar to buy. Any suggestions?

Price range? You can get some Takamine guitars for around $150 which are good enough for beginners.
