Having NASCAR trouble??

It doesnt work for Bspec!!!!!!

Can win at indy and once at high speed ring but thats it!

At grand valley and laguna seca you get way too much over and the back end always kicks out and lose traction all the way thru the track.

There has to be a way to overcome this but i havent found it yet and have tried so many setups its ridiculous?

Does anyone know how to stop the back end from flicking on the tight circuits?

Cheers.

im having pretty much the exact same problem. I had no trouble beating the entire championship in A-Spec with that tune (thank you by the way)

my bob is level 21 - no problem with indy but the tires are trashed halfway through grand valley and he's done - cant catch up

whats the best way to babysit??

+1, I WALKED all over the AI in A-spec including Daytona which was a bit close. However, in B-spec, Grand Valley and Bob dont mix, he burned up tyres by the 4th lap and slid on every corner thereafter.

This setup will walk on the AI!!! I won all races in a row both A-Spec and B-Spec. This is for the AJ Allmendinger Fusion. I won the car, changed the oil right away before driving it and then rebuilt the engine as soon as I could. Change the oil again and you will have 892 hp! Here is the tuning setup I used for all races. Also be sure to TURN OFF ALL ASSISTS for both oval tracks only. All races use RACING SOFT TIRES!

Suspension:

Ride Height- F+15, R-15
Spring- F 18.4, R 18.5
Dampers(both ext and comp) F8 R8
anti-roll bars F6 R6
Camber F 0.5 R 0.5
toe angle F 0.0 R 0.2

Gear ratios by race, both A and B-spec:

Race 1: Indy, All assists OFF, Gear Ratio set at 224 mph.

Race 2: Grand Valley, Traction control 1, ABS 10, Skid recovery force on, Gear ratio at 193 mph

Race 3: High Speed Ring, Traction control 1, ABS 10 Skid recovery force ON,
Gear Ratio at 193 mph

Race 4: Laguna Seca, Traction Control 1, ABS 10, Skid Recovery Force ON,
Gear Ratio at 162 mph

Race 5: Daytona, All Assists OFF, Gear Ratio set at 224 mph. Stay low the entire race. Do not allow them to draft you!

Hope this helps. VERY frustrating race, but with these settings I won every race by at least 5 seconds.

Merry Christmas!! :):):) The BEST tune ever! I ran this tune on my Impala and blew away the competition in every race. The only change I made was on the traction control because I just cannot control myself in the corners. Great Job!!!

yeah its easy in a spec. use drive skills and dont even need to tune!!!!

but in bspec when u rely on a bob, different story.

cant win american champs at laguna seca either, nor nascar race at laguna!!!!!

have even tried a fully pimped out dodge viper SRT ACR 10 with no success! 2nd best result there and 6th in the nascar

truth be told have had enough of it

Use a bob that's about 40% hot (just under half on the bar) and once he's out in the lead, keep him just out in front of the pack and have him maintain pace. Don't try and win the race by 20 seconds bceause that simply won't happen. I had the same problem with the tire shredding until I settled down a bit. As long as you keep him just out front, you won't be passed. My bob was around level 18 or so when I did these races. I know they are a bitch, but they can be beat.

Are you turning the ASM back on after Indy?? You must do this.

Thanks, great setup. Daytona needs a higher final top gear in order to win in B-spec. I had it set to 224 MPH and I ended up in 10th. Fortunately, I had won the previous 4 races which was good enough to place 1st in the series.

To OP: Thanks for your set - up, which I used on a Toyota to win all races (other than a 12th place at Daytona) and the championship. I did an oil change but did not rebuild.

Any set - ups for Nurburgring? I've been a solid 12th place for a while now (when I do manage to finish, that is).

Thanks for the settings, they worked perfect!

I thought that driving the nascar car on roadcourses would suck but it was a joy, i won all races except the last one where i got pitted and spun out on lap 4 and never recovered from it.

Thanks a lot, I used that setting on #83 CAMRY and it worked like a charm.

First 4 races easy wins with 5+ sec ahead, and had problems in last race, but I do it some other time.

Daytona is a photo finish, only way to win is drafting. I took lead literally last corner, just try your best to play chess with the AI.

Not convinced about the tune at all. Setting SRF on for the non-oval tracks and adjusting the transmission for better acceleration rather than top end speed is more than likely what enabled you to win. Turn SRF off and you'll probably find you need a much better tune!

Not a bad tune but i found B-Spec ate my tyres... (He's lvl 23 with a slightly hotter temper, Not a lot almost in the middle)

So i changed a few things and he was much much better. Did Laguna with a gap of 10+ Seconds and very little tyre wear without spamming pace up. (Kept him middling) :)

Heres what i did....

Aero:
F: 30 R: 55

LSD:
Initial: 20
Acc: 55
Braking: 25

Suspension:
Ride Height - F: 0 - R: -10
Springs - F: 18.4 - R: 16.5
Dampers (Ext) - F & R: 8
Dampers (Comp) - F & R: 6
Anti Roll Bars - F & R: 4
Camber - F: 1.0 - R: 0.9
Toe - F & R - 0.0

Brakes
F: 6 R: 5

Gears i used were longer than the OP's:

Race 1: Indy @ 230mph.

Race 2: Grand Valley @ 199mph

Race 3: High Speed Ring @205mph

Race 4: Laguna Seca @ 168mph

Race 5: Daytona @ 230mph

Hope it helps. :)

Gotta try inflict's for bspec. Bob has gotten a big head driving around in an x1. :dopey:

Origional specs work for aspec. Just realize you're going to be playing bumper cars if they catch up to you at Daytona. I had a couple close calls but recovered.

These work great with DFGT.

I hate NASCAR at the best of times and when I gave it a shot in GT5 I never touched it again. Then I came across your tune for it and gave it another shot.

YOU ARE IMO A NASCAR GOD !!!!!

You managed to tame the beasts on road circuits. To me they handled like AWD cars after your tune. I didn't skid out once and blew away they AI by about 10 secs + per race (But not Daytona!) I stuck to the tune and advice for every race except Daytona. Just changed they transmission to 230mph instead of 224mph. Gave me a split second advantage just to take the opposition coming out of the corners and I won that by about 1.5 - 2 secs. Close race.

I must say that you have made NASCAR a pleasant experience for me in GT5. Making me want a little more. I think I may take your tune to the seasonal event on the ring.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Just hope Oddball, my B-Spec driver can do as well as me 💡

Anyways, cheers for the tune mr NASCAR God 👍

Great set up man:idea: I did the Aspec on my own with my own set up which as it turned out was similar to yours.

I had the camber a little higher and the springs a little softer

but My ride height was wayyyy different. one thing you didn't include was any downforce changes(if any) you made.

I tried a couple of just the Nascar races individually to see how it would go and my BOB(lvl24) blew the doors off the competition in the 2 i did( 1 oval & 1 road)👍

I think any tune could win the event when you use abs 10 and skid recovery force. I view those settings as "beginner mode" and can't quite feel satisfied as beating the game when using them.

Your settings did increase my lap times by as much as 20 seconds, which is pretty crazy.

The fact alone that I could accelerate to 115mph in the sand on Laguna and steer, when with driving options off top speed is 15mph makes it pretty clear to me those are "easy mode" buttons.

What a load of cack. That Daytona race is joke in the end. I lost the race several times on the 9th lap because some tool behind me decided to take me out.

Thank God I never have to drive one of those nasty 200mph coffins ever again.

Bob will have the pleasure in the future, but I won't. Good luck to anyone else still fighting to win at Daytona.

On Nurb Nascar seasonal I tried leadboots, I tried dissident, and I tried a combo of the 2 since they are so opposite. I can't get better than 5th(that's only 1 bad corner) I admit I don't have the 2nd half memorized yet, but sheesh, 5th?:dunce: anyone else have a solid nurb tune?:banghead:

crumfigglebakemeacakepimplewarttoepuss!

I had a 6:40 1st lap and blew it on corner 1 of the second lap!

Thank you to the OP for this. It really helped and although I didn't use it exactly, it gave me the foundation for what I used.

I had been looking forward to NASCAR event for so long and with the OP's setting it was too easy (not a big headed comment).

Want a bit more fight from the beast then take off the Skid Recovery Force, there really is no need for it.

Want some more 'rear end action' then set ABS to 5, then you really have a battle on your hands - but very achievable when you learn your car.

These two are for the road courses by the way, ovals are fine.

Front height at +15 ..... actually works really well (although looks ugly on replays)

Only other thing I would suggest (and did) were to click the top speed up two from OP's setting, on all but Indy.

These are the settings I used to feel NASCAR accomplishment and satisfaction, rather than just looking to move to the next event (no sarcasm intended OP - trust you understand).

OH, and SOFTS are a MUST.

Happy NASCAR to one and all. :sly:

Alright, I beat Nurb, my input is to soften the rear a little, increase camber to +.9/+.9 for the corners. STAY OFF THE GRASS!
