Update: 301 minutes to go on the upload to YouTube. Oh, and it's because it's 1+ hour of testing that I'm uploading to explain where I'm having troubles, and that it actually does come down to the cars being noticeably slower.

for those who want know we
have considered aligning the cars more to wtcc due to the regs
therefore we have considered removing the 4wd and having two models that are fr and the rest ff
during testing we tried
the 120
and 330 as there variants of touring cars used in the super 2000 category

You =/= we. You tested the 120.

I quite like the following cars for being almost perfectly matched:

BMW 330i
Ford Focus ST
Volvo C30
Volvo S60
SEAT Ibiza Cupra

They all ran 1:53.9-1:54.1 at Tokyo R246 today, achieving the same maximum speed on the straights, and the same speeds through the corners, at current specs.

However, the following cars did not:

Honda Accord Euro R
Opel Vectra
Alfa Romeo 156 V6

This leaves us with:

1: We need to choose which Volvo gets the go-ahead
2: We need to choose between Civic Type R and Accord Euro R
3: We need to speed up the Alfa Romeo 156
4: We need to speed up the Opel Vectra

Edit:

I've stumbled upon this which is the 2006 specs for the BMW 320si TC.

275 hp, 1140 kg., 5 speed manual. Therefore, I've decided to look into reducing the weight of the FF cars rather drastically, where possible, while keeping the BMW's weight at 1240 kg.

I agree with options: 1, 2, 3 and 4

I'm not looking for agreement, RESH, I'm looking for input.

But... since you're in for Opel, well, you don't really have much of a say in the whole "I drive for Volvo, I want this Volvo." Same goes for Honda.

I wouldn't expect anyone to tell you to drive a different Opel. Same goes for everyone. They can pick which Volvo and which Honda they want.

The reason why I tested the 120 was that competes currently and the 320 and 120 are alOng with the new mg the only frs in the super 2000 regs this year

nothing set in stone so on the 26th i will jost a room at 9 where we can test run the cars i will then report back we can work from there

Alright then.

Civic Type R '08

And

Volvo C30

Are in ITCC Season 3.

What sort of lap times are the rest of you getting at Tokyo R246?

Me and Dave are running a 330i pics will be up soon enough.

At this point nvm.

Edit im running the 330i and it only goes to 1240kg...

im not being forced to drive a car i dont want to drive just because people are complaining about the one i picked and am actually competitive in

Drifting car.... Sure...

So, I'll run some more tests on Tokyo R246.

I want to make sure that the specs are working and correct.

No, not just even in GTP, but also somewhat accurate to WTCC specs from about 2006.
I'd like to run the BMW at approximately realistic FR lap times in that series, and the FFs at their realistic lap times. The FR will be faster at the end of the race, just like in WTCC.

Racing Hards, right? I was disappointed when I ran a 1:56.

Erm, let's see how the Opel Vectra, Civic Type R '08, and other cars do with different weights.

I tested the Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07 (Premium) as a replacement for some of the other cars, if I absolutely can not balance the original cars.

Alfa Romeo, unless someone can make a hybrid that actually runs competitive lap times, is being removed due to poor lap times; it's 2-3 seconds slower than the front runners, which are running 1:53s, like the SEAT, Mazda, Volvo, Ford and BMW. Which other three cars will we add? :nervous:

Toyota RUNX Z Aerotourer not fast enough.

Honda Civic Type R '08 in.

What you on bout? you want cheat cars!

not what i was saying just it seemed like every time i found a decent car it was this or that that wasn't right about it

this time i had something and was proud to be able to keep up with your guys lap times instead of being 5 or 6 seconds off the slowest one... but then again nope he cant have that car it has to off the list its just a pain in my butt that every time i seem to be competitive it turns to "oh it because of his car" darn right it is because if i pick anything else i get left completely behind and have no fun whilst being so.

Was i drifting on cape ring? Yes. Why? Because i knew that no matter what i did i wouldn't be able to catch up to the rest of the pack EVER so i had fun instead did i run into anybody whilst doing this? no not at all (well it came close but i avoided that due to some quick thinking)

do i race clean? yes. because if i wanted to race dirty nobody would ever make it out of the grass/sand/side of track material of your choice

also just as a side note if you compared my lap times to those that other people had at SSR5 they were close but i still had people that could beat me because they had better tuning setups/drivers i respect that. Somebody complaining about my car because their lap-time was beaten so fix yours so you can beat it, other people are already doing that (beating my time)

why not just use my times as a benchmark like using a different set of tires to set a slightly faster lap-time that you then try to beat with the not so good ones

i never said that i want to cheat or use a completely off the scale car. i just want to be racing with others so that i can improve on my pack racing instead of being left in the dust never to catch up

so what if i have a little more than everybody else its all about balance i don't want to be left behind so i pick a better car albeit not a completely stupid powerful car but a better one

it felt nice when i was doing hot laps with melons the other day and he said that i was improving... felt rather nice

but then the race came and it was oh look hes got front downforce (i do believe one comment was "whos that 🤬 hole in the seleighty") all because i was giving them a decent run for their money

i do believe the last line of the introduction on the OP is "Please, for everyone's enjoyment, have fun, race clean, and ensure that everyone is smiling at the end of the race." i'm not having fun, i am racing clean, and i most certainly am not smiling when my car is considered to be "cheating"

It felt good when I told you that you were improving? No.

I was being honest; it just felt good when you were improving.

That's what the true intentions of ITCC is. That's why I'm trying to spec the cars to be the same. That's why I'm forcing everyone to drive cleanly. That's why I'm making this into a closely contested racing series.

A closely contested racing series like this will improve all of the drivers who take part. That's the goal for most. I'm not expecting anyone to care about whether their car is faster, because you don't feel good if you use a Red Bull X2011 to beat a Daihatsu Midget. You feel like a cheater.

So, I'm just putting everyone into a car that's roughly equivalent, so that the driver's talent can shine through above all else.

That said, I'd like to announce the rough specs:

Rough Season 3 Specs:

BMW 330i: 276 hp, 1340 kg.

This car achieved 227 km/h at Tokyo R246 at the end of the main straightaway. The car stayed above 91 km/h through turn 1. The car made it through the high-speed chicane at 189 km/h.

Lap time result: 1:54.0

Description: This car may be about 2-3 tenths slower than the FF cars on a flying lap, but if you factor in tire wear, this car should ideally be a very close contender in the championship.

Honda Civic Type R '08: 276 hp, 1200 kg.

This car achieved 227 km/h at Tokyo R246 at the end of the main straightaway. The car stayed above 93 km/h through turn 1. The car made it through the high-speed chicane at 191 km/h.

Lap time result: 1:53.7

Description: This car is very closely matched in all aspects with all of the other FF cars. It's likely to be a championship contender, because it can battle it out with the other FF cars, but seems more nimble.

Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07: 276 hp, 1219 kg.

This car achieved 228 km/h at Tokyo R246 at the end of the main straightaway. The car stayed above 91 km/h through turn 1. The car made it through the high-speed chicane at 189 km/h.

Lap time result: 1:53.7

Description: This car is very closely matched in all aspects with all of the other FF cars. It's likely to be a championship contender, because it can battle it out with the other FF cars, but has slightly better top end performance (by one km/h).

SEAT Ibiza Cupra: 276 hp, 1200 kg.

This car achieved 227 km/h at Tokyo R246 at the end of the main straightaway. The car stayed above 93 km/h through turn 1. The car made it through the high-speed chicane at 189 km/h.

Lap time result: 1:53.7

Description: This car is very closely matched in all aspects with all of the other FF cars. It's likely to be a championship contender, because it can battle it out with the other FF cars, but has a noticeably higher corner-entry speed. (about 2 km/h)

Volvo C30: 276 hp/1200 kg.

This car achieved 227 km/h at Tokyo R246 at the end of the main straightaway. The car stayed above 91 km/h through turn 1. The car made it through the high-speed chicane at 189 km/h.

Lap time result: 1:53.8

Description: This car is the benchmark FF car. The most consistently competitive FF car in ITCC, this car won the second season.

Ford Focus ST '06: 276 hp/1200 kg.

This car achieved 227 km/h at Tokyo R246 at the end of the main straightaway. The car stayed above 93 km/h through turn 1. The car made it through the high-speed chicane at 189 km/h.

Lap time result: 1:53.8

Description: This car is almost a carbon-copy of the Volvo C30, minus the strange power curve and sound.

I think most of your flak is coming from the fact that you aren't using any of the cars allowed in the series.

So far I've seen you in a Countach, a Z32 300ZX and a Genki Sylvia (A Drift car). I might be wrong with your intentions as I haven't really payed attention to your antics.

Why don't you try with any of the cars that Mel just posted?

Mellenhausen:

I have no idea what's going on but if the AWD cars are banned, then I'm all for the Focus.
