I think most of your flak is coming from the fact that you aren't using any of the cars allowed in the series.

So far I've seen you in a Countach, a Z32 300ZX and a Genki Sylvia (A Drift car). I might be wrong with your intentions as I haven't really payed attention to your antics.

Why don't you try with any of the cars that Mel just posted?

He doesn't like them. "No good cars were made after 2000. You should let me race a truck. I like '70s muscle cars, 240SXs, and Lamborghinis."

This is highly irrelevant. This is a touring car series, you're just lucky I don't stick you in the LADA. 💡 There really should've been a LADA in GT5.

I'd pick the LADA :P

ITCC? No, this is a LADA spec series, with the occasional Lamborghini.

Anyways, I'm going to ask everyone to take 5-10 minutes soon and ponder the car choices. Then, come back with lap times for the chosen car, and we'll see if everything still seems to add up.

Then, next week, we'll try a race at Monza, just to see how that turns out. (I'm going to be reviewing the replays for corner cutting!)

Edit: OP updated again.

Mellenhausen:

I have no idea what's going on but if the AWD cars are banned, then I'm all for the Focus.

well first off I don't like any of the companies and secondly im not trying to win im just trying to keep up. You guys are fast ill grant you that

never said I wanted to race a truck although considering this quote I was only about 5 seconds off pace on cape ring in the Laramie (when I tested it for :censored:s and giggles)

I do like 70s muscle cars, most things Nissan, and a quite a few Lamborghinis (tho not all)

I pick the cars I pick because I like the way they look the way they sound or a combination of the two. I don't try to pick something "overpowered" which it seems like everybody is thinking, I followed the specing rules (276hp 1200kg originally but then when FR cars became 1270 I also followed suit)

I don't want to be told that my car is too good when im maybe keeping up (or in the case of the lambo "oh its not a touring car" when im at the back of the field with no hope of catching up)

I pick the car that I pick because I notice that most of the tracks are technical if it was a matter of speed I might go with one of them 70s muscle cars but its a matter of handling thus I went for a more "tuner" approach to things

i "might" be more competitive if i picked something from bmw or volvo but no id rather do my own thing and pick something that i might drive in real life that i like to drive and that i dont feel like a 🤬 in

not once have i deviated from a mental list of manufacturers/cars and i dont plan to start now because those are the only ones that are "over/underpowered"

So, find me an FF Nissan that isn't problematic:

Leaf is electric and slow

Primera is slow

March is slow

Sentra's not in GT5

Altima not in GT5

Maxima not in GT5

You're left with nots.

If you want to mention an FR Nissan, go ahead. You'll notice, it'll be plagued with 100 kg. FR ballast, and will adhere to the 3+ door rule. Oh, and no front downforce, Dave will toss his pelicans.

why the 🤬 would it have to be FF not all cars in the series are FF

after much deliberation the 240sx is making a comeback, you dont like it take it up with the series director. im not taking any more shinanigans

We can't have all same car - like one model series? (It's not ITCC, right?)

I don't know any of those new specs cars.
If i have to pick one car then i pick Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07, because name have word "Sport". I like that :)

The one model series idea never seems to work out. Unfortunately, there's no possible way of finding a car that's fun enough to have 16+ drivers enjoying it. I'd rather have 16 drivers closely battling than 5 drivers closely battling in the same cars.

Riley, when you say 240SX:

That, Riley, is a 240SX. Don't bring out a Vettel X2011 hybrid with a 240SX shell or anything, please. If you want the car you originally signed up with, take it.

the car i originally signed up with was the lp400 Lamborghini countach just sayin

Can I just ask who's still interested in this, despite the poor results from SSR5?

I know, some drivers were not on their best behaviour, but I'm addressing it.

I also know that there were some slight issues in the game, including glitches and disconnects, but those are "forces majeures" and are out of my control entirely.

So, again, I apologize for Friday, but who's still interested?

👍 Glad to hear it. Anyone else?

I'd like to hope that we can still have 16+ drivers interested, because perhaps the second run group could run at a different date/time in the same cars at the same specs, etc., and compete via total time.

Arg, so many potential choices I could run with.

I'm also toying with the idea of running a Nordschleife round. Don't hate my idea, yet, it might be possible to pass in every fifth corner.

Though changing stuff like this during a season is risky, it can break (NRS Kart Cup) or make (GGT) a series.

During preseason.

Basically, we're working out the final few bugs...

NRS Kart Cup fallen in 3 steps:

1. I say the move is a bit risky.
2. They reckon the series will live on.
3. After they performed it, the series died (even if it was for a different reason).

Steps: 1 and 2 have already happened (If this series died I'm going talk 50% less in threads not by me (I am known to Jinx people, it is a curse of mine :P).

I'm not saying it will (I really want to race in this :D), just pointing out something ironic :dopey:.

@RESHIRAM: Stay in topic.

I'm still in. Just breakin my new Mazda.

I'd be interested in it if it ran at a more me-friendly time. 👍

I thought it was a bit related (Just giving Andrew/Mel an ironic warning).

1:57.xxx was fastest with 330i. Maybe i can go tad faster :\ But the heavier weight is causing some issues.

Reporting for duty Mel SIR!!!!

And OLLY, what do you think we should choose for our new machine??? I'm leaning towards the Focus.

Gonna be alittle trickier than the Scooby as:

A. I suck at FF cars for some reason.

B. Dat Focus is a little Fugly.

C. Torque Steer.

I suck at FF cars too :P

Yes the focus is ugly I miss my Subaru's beauty, but oh well.

Does GT5 even simulate torque steer?
