Well the F1 just finished, so I'm game to a p*** around.

Also, I'm glad nobody's rocking the Scirocco. Already a second quicker and I'm not even fully bulked out on that either, and there's so much more potential to be had too... It's easily a mid 1:52 at Tokyo without the extra it'll get from break-in.

That's because the Scirocco is so fast. I wanted to put a VW in, but they're all awkward to spec. The Seat is the only VW that fits.

It would've been the closest fit, but, given the difference the aero settings made at Monza (see also, Mazdaspeed Motorsport strategy) I'm not sure that it'd be fair to run a car with no aero.

:guilty: all because PD was too lazy to copy/paste the Focus ST wing onto the VW V.

Oh I agree, the Scirocco is a monster, but I seriously wouldn't discredit the cars you have so easily just yet. I'll poke the Scirocco around at 261 bhp. If I'm close to what the Ford is pulling out at 261 bhp, which is a 1:54 flat.... you be the judge. 👍

The Ford is good, but it's not that good. Even according to the laps I posted in the OP, there's a negligeable difference between the cars; enough that I can't really notice a difference between the cars.

What are the Mazdas running at Cape Ring?

Good testing with Adam and nas today. :)

Looks like 1:22s will be average pace, now that the AWDs are gone, at Cape Ring South.

And, lastly, the Rising Stars and new guys among us have gotten some helpful tips and hints to help them improve. Yes, all of them. Except polar. Polar's fast enough. I'm not giving him my secrets. :P

And, videos:

Race 1 @ 8.07 if Wilfred watches you can see I DIDN'T make contact as was claimed, or if I did it was very very minimal...

Race 3 @ 6.18 surely if that was a season race a penalty would be given for dive bombing right?

Also is the grid always going to be random or are actual qualifying sessions going to happen?

every story has two or more sides luckly for you i record all my gt5 races for insurance
and here is the raw live view

as you can hear contact was made i did not report you as its preseason and as you can see you were lagging a bit as well

Well Wilfred, kudos to NOT drilling his car into the barriers of Turn 1 on the next lap. More people need to take a page out of your book.

Race 3 @ 6:18, I haven't seen that bit yet. Is that the one with Sakery being divebombed by Willfred? Willfred gave the position back; no real harm. Sucks to see, a bit, but no real harm was done.

Grid: we may do a qualifying round, but maybe not. I don't know. The grid isn't always random, either. Most times, it's determined by the finishing order of the previous races.

Of course, now that the preseason is over, I think you guys know - somewhat well - how to avoid crashes, etc. And I could probably trust you guys more with being able to run clean races with the reversed grid order; a possibility, given that I've had requests for reversed grid order.

So, I need thoughts on the matter; qualifying? No qualifying? Fastest first? Slowest first? Reverse grid based on finishing order? Forwards grid on finishing order?

Qually for Q1
Reverse Grid for Q2
Forward Grid for F1
Reverse Grid for F2
Sound good?

Maybe. I liked the idea of froshing the whole field together, and forcing you guys to learn to get along during preseason, just so that you guys could see what it's like to start up front, mid-field, and in the back.

But, now that preseason's out of the way, we can get down to the business at hand; how do we make sure that points are given out evenly?

Fast first, slow first, fast first, slow first is an interesting idea; it will force the faster guys to work their way up through the entire field, and thereby give the slower guys a chance to get some really nice positions, but is it fair to the fast guys?

Well, if every race is weighted evenly, yes. So, perhaps qualifying x2, so that the faster guys always start the F1 race up front, and F2 will again be reversed grid.

easy there i was at 6:18 well clear just because its a bmw does not mean its me
and as usual replays are filled with jumping cars

Again, I'm not worried about crashes and things if no one else is. Bumps are going to happen, welcome to ITCC. If you think someone was especially rude about a specific pass attempt, you can contact the stewards.

I've only got like 3 or 4 things to investigate, so I'm not worried.

i just don't like people presuming it was me just because of the car

It was you...? Unless you think that your name isn't Willfred.

Perhaps we're not talking about the same incident. This is why I need to go and investigate on the PS3.
