I would think, that maybe Sakery clipped the grass, and slid though the chicane?
A fair judgement, however:

1. He wasn't out of control, and he clipped the grass with all four wheels. These cars don't go fast enough to warrant the excuse of misjudging a corner either. His approach and speed was fine.

2. He didn't make any effort to slow OR turn for the remaining part of the chicane once he re-joined. If my first point is false, then at least there should have been some kind of effort to slow down going through the latter half of the chicane when he cut it. However, as you can tell, he kept his throttle firmly planted, and no effort was made to turn the car through the latter half correctly. On the contrary, he pulled further into the green "not-track" zone.

I'm no steward but I certainly feel that what's shown in the video is worthy of a penalty.

so what
1300 kg. Is fine for this week, and possibly the full season.
i'm confused because at the end of monza when i asked you. i said the last races were at 1270 and you said 1270's fine for the season so what do i run

Or maybe before you see them? I think it's best to hope that everyone can avoid braking too late, by braking through anticipation. You should have some idea of where the person in front is going to brake.

When RESH is following behind Siggers, RESH should brake sooner, but lighter. When Siggers' taillights come on, RESH is prepared to brake harder, and is already going slow enough to actually be able to brake more lightly, and RESH could probably use that to close up the gap in the middle of the corner, by getting on the throttle sooner.

Or, you could... I dunno... learn to read the driving style of the people around you. Guys, you're going four races against the same people, you should have their braking points dialled in before the start of Race 3 at the latest.

what you actually want to do is apply pressure as these cars are sensitive if the driver does not make an error then try to pass
but remember the FF's are prone to understeer as we saw with me and sigg
Steward's review announcement!

Sakery is under investigation for the Race 4 victory, for corner-cutting.

If a 5 second penalty is applied, and not appealed*, the winner of Race 4 would actually be Driverman447, and the full results would be:

  1. Driverman447
  2. Sakery
  3. Jammy_21
  4. etc.

looking at it yes it was a cheeky cut but in the grand scheme of things did it make a difference? it was early on hes on hards most others were on wets or inters i would give him a caution. hes not defending a position or trying to pass.
however a video of a replay doesn't give enough to qualify for a penualty
so heres how i would do it
i get a pm with a complaint
i look at the video
then get a statement from whoever is involved
i will look at the lap times and the context
such as weather tyres and tyre conditions did anything happen previously.

once you have constructed a picture can you then start making decisions so at the moment i have gone with a caution but i will have a proper look
on that note sakery please pm me a statement detailing thought processes any events that might have caused etc
i will then deliver my verdict

ohh and one last thing please know your car limits as if you pass in a corner then understeer into the the other guy causing an incident i will come down hard on you i know this is touring cars but there a corners where there is enough space for one car.
this is especially true for cape ring
if there is an unfair pass and the overtaker does not yield that is penalty worthy
you have been warned

That was such a big corner cut that I think it deserves a penalty. And, no it's not because I would be the winner then, winning because of a penalty doesn't feel very special...

Cutting corner is not right even when you're alone.

as i said i will have a proper look i am not saying its acceptable but you guys don't like harsh penalties but when i ease off i'm too soft
but andrew shouldn't have put this in the thread it is a stewards issue therefore should be kept within stewards

Yes, it is.

The thing is, he won by 0.8 seconds, after cutting a corner known to be worth around 0.5-1.0 seconds per lap; on a few occasions.

Thus, I'm led to believe that he would've been farther behind if he hadn't cut.

The penalty will be applied. Driverman447 wins Race 4.

Sakery will have the chance to appeal the penalty, according to the appeal process outlined in the OP, by giving us the reason why he was cutting the corners, and if it's a valid/honest reason, the penalty may be reconsidered.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

He floored it across the grass. You can't try to say that didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. He gained a solid second off of that.

It's not only that, have a look at how Sakery rejoins and where he points the car AFTER he's back fully onto the track. What do you notice?

After realizing there was more than the first clip, I will say that the last one looks like lag on Mel's end, not anything Sak did.

The first one on its own is penalty-worthy though.

Stewards can I get a lap time comparison? How much time did he gain?

No, the lap in question was the most wet lap. The conditions were changing, lap-by-lap. However, despite being on a wet track with dry tires, he posted a second sector time faster than anyone else, by more than a full second. The first and third sectors, by contrast, were slower than the guys on intermediates.

Alright... Can we not do this on the thread? Plenty of other places we can do this.

Definanlty a penalty then. I'd say 5-10 Seconds, considering the circumstances of him continuing to violate the White Line Rule.

Polar, yes there are better places for this, but PMs dont allow for open discussion among all 4 stewards. This will be solved with GTPs new update soon. 👍

You don't have a Skype? Would say a fake Facebook... But Mel blocked me on there xD

Having looked at it I would give him a caution
Here's why
1. It's pre season
2. I don't have replay so can't check the times
3. If he does it again it will be followed by a penalty

How do people like their stewarding do they like the single guy who's judge jury and executioner or a collective group who break it down and decide together
The first opinions quicker but can be more unfair the secound options slower but more fair

Just saying here if people were on Inters/Wets while he was on hards. After it's below 30% surface water slicks have a big advantage over both.. Inters start being chewed up at 25% and wets are hopeless at anything below 50%.

I have my car tuned, specified and raring to go, the Mazda is great fun around cape ring south (Fridays track)

Use as the BTCC do, A GTP closed stewards group 💡
