Just donated £5. I would've donated more if I weren't so broke right now.

GTP, you are awesome. Sincerest thanks for donating to the road trip.

I too have a question for Kazunori - why have you not ordered an Aston Martin One-77 yet? Of course, I'll be able to ask him this directly, lucky SOB such that I am.

Keep coming up with those questions!

I'd like to donate some good will. No money, just some good old fashioned positive thoughts. Stay safe and bring home the money shots gents 👍

With regard to the potential of talking to Yamauchi in the flesh I have the following plead...

... Basically, lay off the GT5 questions, please!! 59 minutes of every hour spent at Gamescom for him will most likely be in a press conference situation answering the same questions, over, and over, and over. I'm pretty sure we'll get more than enough coverage and information from official sources to tide us over a while, plus the demo time and videos you guys will get will surely go some way to answering the questions most of us are thinking.

I think questions like those from gNNY and analog in the OP are brilliant. I can just imagine Kazunori having a little chuckle, and maybe even feeling a little refreshed and relaxed. I think we have a perfect opertunity to be a welcome change of pace for Kaz at gamescom, and I dont think it would hurt to let him know just how much we appreciate his efforts thus far either.

I think the worst thing that could happen is for GTP to come off as sounding un-grateful or dissatisfied with Gran Turismo!

Anyway thats my two cents. I know what I would do given the opertunity. Sadly i dont have one :(

Best of luck guys 👍 And have fun!!!!

Of course I assumed a job would be generally financially beneficial but it seems there is at least one situation where it isn't. Never thought that would be possible. Live and learn.

The systems and laws in place over here can help a person at home, sometimes more than when he or she goes and gets a job.
If Famine were to go flip burgers at Snackdougals, he'd be worse off, but to get another job re-aligning the Large Hadron-Collider is pretty tricky too, and seeing as his theory proved them all wrong last time he was there, they aren't too keen to take him back.
No-one likes a smartass.
It's fair enough of you to find the idea of unemployment being a good thing strange, Timo. I have absolutely no knowledge of how Finnish laws and benefits work, and I'm sure you could surprise me with some of them, not to mention make me jealous that I don't live there. 👍

Famine, why can't I come? That's not my question, but I have thought of a couple:

"We've held regular LANs using GT3 and GT4, but I've never been able to get the results up afterwards, why is this?"

"Is LAN mode included?, otherwise I really will be bored next year..."

"Does a 24hr Nurburgring race encompass weather, and day/night cycles, plus affect the physics?, after all, a track is slipperier (try translating that one) in the early hours of the morning."

"Will I be able to emulate the weather and track conditions of the circuit location in real time?, Is that why you include this data, floating around the screen in GT5P?"

"I want to race around Bathurst. Can I use the Track Editor to create this, or do I wait until PD have done it, then download the official version?"

"Will there be a competition in the future for a track created by a player using the editor to be officially produced by PD as DLC?"

"Do you go 'ring-blind' after racing for a while in the 24hr, and cannot remember for the life of you, which corner is next?"

There, that'll do.

I meant what I said about the keyring.

Have fun.

👍

No benefits here. I'm a house-husband :D

I've temporarily removed the thingy again while I'm asleep - I don't want enthusiastic overdonation, and if the next 12 hours are like the last, I'll wake up with two grand in my PayPal. That'd be complex.

Hey Famine, so are you and other GTp members try to anwser all of the questions or you will just pick the most important ones? I know some interviews with Kaz or PD staff are either very short or very long. I hope you and others get plenty of time there with Kaz.

Also, is it confirmed that Kaz will be there?

No confirmations, and if he gets chance to ask one question, he'll pick the best one, he won't be asking all of them.
And yes Timo.

:mischievous:👍

I'll try - if I get any time at all with Yamauchi - to get them all answered. Failing that, the one I think is best - the one he'll remember us by. I have my own list of obvious questions too, but if I get one question and one question only, it'll be the best from this thread.

Its located in Germany right? Hmmm.. maybe he will be there to reveal bit more info and European release dates.

Hey Famine, dont forget to get copies of all GT games and make Kaz sing them

haha, ok. I guess then I'll have to agree. :dopey:

[off topic]
(I'll be taking a bottle of my own, homemade limoncello with me - see, I'm so impoverished that I don't even buy myself alcohol!)
We're just back from an Italian restaurant in Bath. I had a limincello to finish with, after a tiramisu obviously, and Linda had an ice cream laced with limoncello. 'twas very, verry nice. She says it was in her top 10 of deserts, which is high praise indeed!

Ahhh, finally got it done.

BTW I don't see this as a donation or contribution.

We are helping to pay Famine's expenses to go do a job.

That being to go to Gamescom and find out something about this freaking game.

So mush baby! ;) 👍

I added a non-GT5 related question to the end of my original post O Perpl one.
After someone said that we should think of things that he hadn't been asked a million times already, a very valid point, might I add.

That doesn't mean you should include my extra question in your list, but I am a little hurt that you didn't put the LAN results conundrum in the running.....

You can't take liquids through customs. Drink before ferry......

:irked:👍

^ Um, that Anonymous Nevadan Donor would be me. I'm representing Las Vegas here! :sly:👍

^ Total of GBP£5.00. ;)

But what if there were a donation from a different (theoretically still anonymous) Nevadan Donor... in a different amount?

Would not this mean that there is more than one person living in our great state... or even our city? :sly:

Just donated £10

Question to Kaz:
1 - If you could only have one car, which car would you choose, and why?
2 - Which feature in the game is your favorite, and which one was the most difficult to incorporate in the game.
3 - Where do you get the inspiration to work so hard at a game with the dimensions of the Gran Turismo?
4 - Who is it possible to make a game that runs at 1080p with 60fps, with amazing graphics?

As a student all donations are in per-pint value. My last pint was £2.20, Carling. I shall contribute £2.20 when I can.

Not the most important question but Famine can you ask Kaz if there is a chance if the infamous Synchronized replay option will be in .That with custom soundtracks will make replays unavoidable.

Technical questions are fine but they could be directed to pretty much any representative. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people running around one can ask. Now Kaz is a whole different story and I agree with a lot of posters here (incl. Famine) that the questions that should go to him should be special. He is the master mind behind it so he can comment much better on strategic things. Think about all the questions that would be interesting to know but won't get answered by eventually getting the game into your hands and finally play it.

Examples:

  • With the GT series you want to create the ultimate driving simulator. How close to that goal do you feel you are with GT5?
  • Once the game's released, what will you do in the upcoming weeks/months (like a vacation or something else he wasn't able to do because of the development of GT5)
  • It was said that GT6 will come much quicker than GT5 has, what are things you want to include there that couldn't make it into GT5?

Can you think of some more strategic, more epic questions? I'm sure it will make for a much more interesting interview for all sides involved... ;)

Not expecting specifics like car & track lists, but clearing up what the 20 (?) , Tracks thing mean? :)

Kind of a strange question but: If you could create your own car, what would it be like? (V6, V12? Coupe, Sedan? Sleek, Angular? etc).

More questions from me. I think very important ones.

: Are you able to swap engines with diffrent manufaturers? ex. Toyota with a BMW engine.
: How will DAMAGE work in the full game, will one hit be able to slow the car down dramatically? Will players be able to adjust it to their likings?
: How will players fix up their cars after a long race and taken some damage to the car? As well if player chooses not to fix the car, will he or she be able to race the damaged car in another race?

Hmmm, that reminds me of when i got my PS2 at December 19th, 2004. I got GT3 with it. I only thought there was GT1 and 2 at the time! :D
I was awed with the graphics, and i was like O.O with the Synchronized Replay.
It's such an awesome feature, it should'nt be removed. :)

"GT5 has a strong independant fanbase, is there oppurtunity for those like GTP's Jordan to be honoured in future version of the game or DLC?"

Not only will we get trophies, but GT5 will be the ONLY game to feature multiple platinum trophies from the start. (I think there were a few that had DLC packs that you could platinum, but those are DLCs. GT5 will have more than one platinum from the start.)

I can't contribute, but hopefully my question will be of contribution to you guys!

First of all if we remember back in GT2 we had the ability to transform cars into race cars. I would like to know if this would be an available feature or upgrade to certain standard or premium cars. Along those lines I'd like you guys to see if you can find out ore about the level of customization. I'm sure this is on your minds, but I'm thinking more along the lines of not just a livery editor or a track editor, but more along the vehicles basics- like size of the wheels, and the ability to paint the wheels or certain parts of the cars. With that is there going to be disparity between the different 'tuning factories' or 'companies'. For instance, in GT4 you could go to HKS or Blitz, but the level of upgrades equaled the same amount of HP. If there is freedom to differentiate between say, an HKS Turbo, or a Blitz Turbo, or maybe the 'factory' Turbo (like NISMO, TRD etc.).
