I can't contribute, but hopefully my question will be of contribution to you guys!

First of all if we remember back in GT2 we had the ability to transform cars into race cars. I would like to know if this would be an available feature or upgrade to certain standard or premium cars. Along those lines I'd like you guys to see if you can find out ore about the level of customization. I'm sure this is on your minds, but I'm thinking more along the lines of not just a livery editor or a track editor, but more along the vehicles basics- like size of the wheels, and the ability to paint the wheels or certain parts of the cars. With that is there going to be disparity between the different 'tuning factories' or 'companies'. For instance, in GT4 you could go to HKS or Blitz, but the level of upgrades equaled the same amount of HP. If there is freedom to differentiate between say, an HKS Turbo, or a Blitz Turbo, or maybe the 'factory' Turbo (like NISMO, TRD etc.).

That sounds interesting. Maybe have different attributes for the turbos, maybe Mine's turbo has more HP gain, but HKS turbo gives more torque and has peak power in low-mid rpm ranges.

That's exactly what I mean. Different companies have different traits to their 'same' upgrades. Instead of the GT4 version where Turbo stage 1 2 or 3 were all the same power and torque and delivery of such no matter what the make.

And I was also pointing out that If KAZ has the option of turning the cars into 'race' cars, say you have a GTR, will you be able to make it into a SuperGT race car, or say a FIA GT1 race car?

I would also like to know what other site you are representing there before I consider a donation.

Question for Kaz:

I really must ask about this Standard and Premium situation. A lot of people want answers about this. It has been said that standard cars will not have cockpit views, and are just simple carry overs from Gran Turismo 4. Is this all true? Why did you have to ahve standard and premium cars? Was it too much to model all 1000 cars?

and also:

When GT5 ships, will you be going on a vacation? And where will you be going? Will it be Jamaica? :dopey:

My proposed questions for Kazunori-San:

1. Why where there hidden cars like the Miatas with the roll cages and the S2000s without names in GT3 and the Mini Cooper 1.3i in GT4?

2. What about the Nike One-R (which was proposed by Phil Frank after he found out that the Nike One wasn't able to be used in races)? Will it be included in GT5?

3. Do you have a family Kaz?

(I've been waiting to have these answered for SO long. It would pay off if it were to be answered by Kaz himself.)

Id be happy to throw you few pounds. I will check back later to see if the link is up.

Do you still require further donations?

To answer the "what other site" question, after discussion with my colleague from there, it's InsideSimRacing.tv.

That's not who I'm working with explicitly, no. I imagine it'd be even more of a trek for him than me

So will you and Venari be featuring in one of their episodes?

I don't think the universe can handle our combined handsomeness. Cologne itself is in danger.

It's wholly true, depending on how you define "handsome"...

The button is back, for the time being.

I get this when I try to donate

paypalo.jpg

is there some way I can donate directly from my paypal account?

Try the button again - for some reason, after about 8 hours, it gets bored of accepting payments and spacks out. I've just put a new one up and the clickthrough works for me - I just tested it.

Also, thank you :D

Ok done £20 donated, now to hack into Jacks bank account to get him to donate half :)

No, unfortuantely, they can't come. Instead, I'll try to stand in for them and cover as much as possible all the race-related topics during Gamescom. Wednesday will be reserved for GT5 and the rest of the days (up until Saturday) I'll check out the rest of the show.

Can I send to money by mail or can I give it in person at GamesCom.

Question for KY:

* Do you brush your teeth?

Very nice. Yeah definitely a long way for them. I didnt realise they had representation outside of the US. Well you learn something new every day!

Well, they don't. Or didn't until now. During their GT5 special they asked if somebody wants to cover GamesCom for them. I offered them my help and they took me up on that. What the outcome of that will be...? We'll see but it promises to be a lot of fun. And right now it's a one-time thing only just for GamesCom.

Have plans been made to get the videos, photos, text etc online while you are all still at the show or will they be uploaded later on? If not could some of the donations be used to pay for a 3G USB dongle and whatever else is required?

Payment of £5 sent.

For some reason I could not log into the my Paypal account from your donate link, got me freaked for a sec. In the end went direct to Paypal site.

I would love to have given more but unemployed.

PS

Can you please if possible try and capture some of the engine/exhaust note of the cars.

Thanks

I'm not sure. If the Fair Koln supports a wireless connection, I can upload a limited amount of pictures and text in situ (the bottleneck will be my laptop). The hotel I've opted for, as well as being cheap, has free WiFi, so I can upload huge chunks in time for lunchtime in the USA - and I'm sure gNNY will be able to achieve better results when he arrives home (I believe he said he's half an hour away).

Any reason why the running total has vanished? Just curious.

I changed my mind :D

Essentially because I want people to decide if they want to donate and then choose how much. I don't really want them to be guilted into a value that they'd arrive at by dividing the running total by the number of contributors.

And I think I'm going to pull the link shortly anyway - those who want to contribute but couldn't/haven't can help the next GTP-appointed correspondant.
