Help Thread For Las Venturas Missions

I think you're supposed to shoot them down. Because after you do you get a message telling you to go and shoot those boats. And those pilots are pretty stupid. I've had them after me during vigilate, and if I'd just go around a big hill or something they'd just try to go through it, without success.

-Any tips for the mission "Beat down the B dup"? I keep dying when they send in the third wave of gang members. Is there anywhere I can buy a rocketlauncher? That would probably help heaps.
 
First off, get an AK, or M4 (and armor). Once it starts try to shoot the enemies(while crouching of course) down before they even get a shot at you. If they do hit you, run to the armor/health icons before the 2nd wave starts. Do the same for the 3rd wave. Keep going around and get some armor after you completed the 3rd wave. Then going to B-dups house is kinda of a killer too... Go towards his house real slowly and make sure you shoot everyone down before you get to the house. Or else they'll kill you in seconds. Good Luck!

If this doesnt work, there is a rocket laucher somewhere in San fierro airport.
 
I am working on the LV missions, and after I beat highnoon, I just had to get the key from Millie for caligulias. Well anyways after I finally got the key from her. I didn't have anymore missions on my screen. Is there anything I have to do to get the last robbery mission to show up?

In that part I hide my self behind thoose rocks wich are behind you,then took them out with a sniper rifle! :sly:
 
How do I hit those boats in the "vertical bird " mission ,I can not hit them , the torpedos' is flying away in the sky instead of hitting the boats :(

Hit R1 (I think) to lock onto a target. It should be green. When it goes red I think you can then hit fire and your missiles will be guided towards the target,

Is there anyway I can get the jetpack again? I finished the game, but I can't find it.

Thanks for that. I didn't know there were health and armor icons. I finally beat it but it seemed the health/armor only showed up once.
 
Im having a hard time doing the "Up,Up, and Away" mission for robery. I just finished all of the airstrip missions, I found out that you could get the jetpack, so Im thinking of starting the mission, drive to the airstrip, get teh jetpack, fly, and then do the rest.
 
Finally! I completed the "Verctical bird" mission. And now I'm stuck on the b dup.
I aleays die and CJ does pointing at the wrong person or he does point on the wall etc.when I hit R1 :grumpy:
 
Don't forget to use stealth if you can, ie go around the back of the houses;)

Or run them over, it's all good.

I had trouble with that one also. What I finally did was make a barrier with cars and blown up cars, then I'd pop up and cap some ballas, crouch back down. Also, if you havn't been using an ak47, get one. And there are health and armor icons in the middle of the road that you can get. I've tried getting in a car and running them over but the ballas will usually pop the tires and destroy it before I can kill a lot of them.
 
Anybody got any hints at flying the harrier jet in "vertical bird" --- Is it just slow (flys like a crappy helicopter)--- I keep either crashing or getting shot down.

Also, has anyone managed to jack a tank yet??? On one of my failures in vertical bird (I crashed right after takeoff and swam back to the naval base) I came within whisper from jacking a tank after I got up to 6 stars.

My first piece of advice is to push the right analog stick forward and to spend a couple of minutes doing maneuvers in and out of the huge bridges from San Fierro to Las Venturas. I've yet to successfully shoot down an enemy plane on that mission but they always crash and burn if I just fly around the bridges for a while.

Once those assholes are gotten rid of, try practicing with the hover mode. Use the right analog stick to switch between hover and normal mode. And use the X button to either hover or fly forward.

Hit R2 to lock onto a target. The target should switch to green. Eventually it will switch to red and you can then launch missiles. It should take about 3 missiles per target.

No, I 've yet to come across a Rhino so far in the game. I've come across a police riot vehicle but it's a bit **** really.

I found the last part of Vertical Bird quite easy, thanks to my Ace Combat 04 skills ;). It seems your main problem is you not turning the nozzles to go forward with R3 like KM said.

And as for the tank, I've managed stealing one from Area 69. The turrent doesn't turn around backwards unless you push R2 and L2 to look back. It's kind of weird. I stole it by getting the jetpack, and running along the fence at Area 69 until I came to a few hangers with the openings facing me, then I quickly flew over the fence to the other side. I don't think the SAMs with shoot at you if you get over fast enough. Then I ran over to the hanger and stole the rhino and busted out of there, quickly taking it back to the garage at the airfield.
 
Haven't re-tried Home in the Hills yet. I've just finished "Up, Up, and Away!". Easy mission. But Millie is never home, goddammit!

Is there any secret? I even put the damn Gimp Suit on, and she still wasn't there. I can never take her on a date, help would be appreciated.
 
I know, it's annoying that's she's never there, I tried about 15 times today and only one of them she was home, it's bloody annoying. Why can't she be a hermit with no social life and stay at home!
 
Millie is at home during the following hours:12:00 to 22:00.Atleast she is in my game.
 
Apparantly, according to the Strategy Guide, she's home in the following time periods:

02:00 - 10:00
14:00 - 18:00

I'll try going there between your time periods though.
