Hi mates, I just realized that I had introduced myself in the first tentative thread (by Chris, a.k.a. Mojo Rising) but not in this official thread posted by CFM.
My name is Cyril, I'm 33, married to Anne (we've been together for the past 15 years), we have 3 kids (Antoine 6, Perrine 3 and Martin 1.5) and we live in the south of France. I'm one of the (too) few frenchmen racing in the WRS.
I graduated in chemistry (and more specifically polymers) but I work for the french branch of a belgian software company, and my job is to translate the software from dutch (flemish) to french and to train the trainers.
I've been playing video games since 1985 on Amstrad CPC 464, Amstrad CPC 6128, Appel II c, Atari 520 STF, Amiga CD-TV, Super Nintendo, PC, Gameboy, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance, Playstation II.
I discovered the GT series in 2000 (GT1) but really got hooked on GT3 in 2002.
I joined GTP in Feb. 2004 and the WRS in April (week 65, that was a S2000 at Deep Forest reverse). Since that time I'm still racing in div 2 mainly because I'm not practising much and therefore have no chance to be promoted up to div 1.
In real life, I'm driving a Renault Kangoo 1.5 dCi, which is about as far as you can imagine from a sport car but in which can easily fit the whole family, 3 seats for the kids and enough luggage for a fortnight
If I were single I would be driving a Mazdaspeed Miata. Probably a red one.
My wife plays mainly RPGs and she understands my addiction to gaming. As I was writing the previous paragraph she just kissed me on the forehead and said 'good night flat-out' (in english and using my GTP nickname instead of my real name).
My first son (6 years old) is a big fan of GT3, GT4 and GTA San Andreas. He started to play video games two weeks before his second birthday
("Driver" on Playstation). He's no threat to any of us so far, but we might see him around at GTP in a few years, when he can write english.
That's it, I think I've been pretty much exhaustive, and if I write more I'd rather lay down on the sofa and have a shrink. See you soon at the track.
