High School

Just got home. I have officially graduated from high school. Yay me and bahumbug.

I'm 21 and left school 5 years ago. I still wish I was in high school sometimes so can I be included? :scared:

Please?

Of course! Talk about stuff you did in high school, offer advice, and just talk about high school stuff.

Also, I just looked at my OP from when I created the thread and realized things had changed quite a bit. I went from being a freshman to now going in to my junior year this fall. So everyone should reintroduce themselves and update their current situations.

I'm going to be a senior this year, I'm already coming down with a hardcore case of senioritis, and I already dislike AP classes.

Knock that off. With that attitude, you end up just short of getting into the college you want, giving your parents reason to keep you at Community College for a year. Unless theres a 4 year in your hometown...

I'm going to miss high school. The security of seeing the same group of 40 awesome peers who you had all your classes with will be tough to go without. They all mean so much to me.

I do remember standing outside the school on my very first day. Was pretty nervous about it all, can't believe that is nearly 10 years ago! Makes me feel old! :nervous:
I went to the same spot when I left there too, was pretty surreal. 5 years just flew by with good and bad memories but there is one thing that will always stick with me.
High school is one of the best times of your life, working life isn't much sweeter, the money is a good incentive but you don't have half the worries in high school.

Apparently I will miss my schedule tour day for my junior year because because I will be at band camp. The only problem with this is that I will be able to drive by the time school starts, but I have to buy a parking pass which is sold at the tour. So I might not get to drive to school the first day. :(

I'll be lucky to drive the first day too. I know our SRO (School resource officer, police officer as they're known) will argue with me about riding a motorcycle to school.

Why's that?

They hate us doing that too when I was in school. Anything that's not a car. And it's somewhat our fault....we sold one of the students one of our Honda 200X's and he blew it up in the parking lot when I was really little.

Well that's not road legal.

If wrapture has his ZX6 all done up for the street with the proper licenses, then the cops shouldn't be able to do anything about it.

It was converted for the street (tires, turn signals, plates etc). That was the only way they even allowed him to ride it in the first place. Other people road them on the side of the road to school which is what he did for a while until he got lazy. After it blew up (his fault, used the wrong piston after we had it rebuilt, had issues and top end rebuilt again) they said no more.

Down here motorcyclist have a bad name. He doesn't know that I'm not like the average motorcyclist down here. Also I don't have a full license. I have a "Driving Permit" which allows a person to drive a car only with a licensed adult. I have a motorcycle endorsement on that permit allowing me to ride within 3 miles of my parent/guardian or residence. The reason the did the 3 mile limit is because you cant convince someone like my mom to ride a motorcycle. BTW, the school is only 1.5 miles away from my house so I can legally drive there.

If it's legal then there should be no way that they can stop you from riding to school.
You're not breaking the law, you're operating a motor vehicle just like everyone else.

I am not sure how my school would react to motorcycles. They aren't too popular around here, my guess is because people are bad drivers and it's not worth the risk of having a bad driver be responsible for your death. I think riding a motorcycle to school would be scary for that reason. Teens are bad drivers in general, there's no denying that. When I get my motorcycle endorsement on my license, I'm not using it where I live, I'm going to only use it up north with a dual sport bike on forestry roads no uses.

In my school, there is one senior (well, he just graduated) who has a motorcycle. My school doesn't have any issue that I know of about motorcycles. Of course, since my school is literally full of rich kids (with exceptions like myself), their first cars are porsches, GTRs, etc.

My friend sent me this today. It brings back some memories, even though it was not so long ago. It brings me anxiety for the current school year, but also inspires me to try harder (at least in terms of marching band) because this is really bad. It also makes me remember some of the seniors that I loved.

This is my high school marching band. I am the snare player on the leftmost side of the screen.

I agree but unfortunately they don't see it that way. They have a fit when kids ride tractors to school.

One kid in the neighboring school took his date to prom on a tractor

My first day of school is tomorrow.

I'm going to a different school this year, and I'm not dreading it like I would be if I was going to my old school. I go to the actual school on Monday and Tuesday just like normal, and then on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I stay at home on the computer to do schoolwork. Everyone that knows me has said that this is going to be much better for me than a traditional school, and I think it will be for me too.

It's also a much, much, smaller building, and a lot less people (both of which is better for me). I absolutely hated every single second of being in my old school. I would browse the internet looking at car websites and GTPlanet while everyone else was doing schoolwork. Part of that is laziness, part of that is just getting my mind away from all of those people I just hated being around.

So since I'm going to a different school, I have a chance to come across differently to different people.

I do not know what manner of person you are, but if you prefer staying alone in the school or when going to other public places than walking up to other classmates to abide being around with them with patience, I counsel you would be better going to the new school with less number of classmates and fewer circumstances prone to turn irksome especially to you later.

Besides, being able to do homeworks at home, grants you to do schoolworks without worrying the sickening glances of other students giving you the possibility of being focused more on the assignments and it will be more likely to come across to new fellows who are awkward at associating with other people in their circle confidentially alike, when you get to the school attending the same classes as them and going by in the parallel time schedule as them.

Naturally, not everyone likes socialising with other folks even sharing the same brands of likings interpersonally or after they find them trustworthy - they are just strangers each other.

Taking those into account, if you don't feel like you want to get mixed up with those hedgehogs anyway, the new school would be a cup above the oldie imo. :)
