High School

We had a full day today, but I forgot about the modified schedule with the club period we have on Fridays in my study hall. I made myself look like the first three letters of the word "assume" in front of the teacher, who not only is a chemistry teacher but also the first time I had been in his classroom. :dunce:

My district makes us have SIMULATIONS for the actual tests. Like, really? 4 hours of my life I'll never get back today.

Havent seen this thread in a while. Good to see it again... But, back on topic, I have two projects due thursday and a huge essay due in a week or two. Its like all of the teachers decided to make life difficult by doing all of this at the same time, lol.

Also, it sucks that health class is manditory, because it has more work than my core classes. For example, we've already done two essays, one on confidence, and the other was how to say "no" and how to avoid peer pressure. Sort of annoying and un-needed, if you ask me.

My grades are the best in the class this trimester :D If I keep going until the 28th (which is when the trimester ends) my average will be upwards of 19 or 95% for you 'Muricans.

Do they really call semesters 'trimesters' in Greece? Because in America, a trimester is a stage of pregnancy... :P

Yes AFAIK. The Greek word is τρίμηνο. Correct me if trimester isn't the right term in English. Google Translator came up with trimester though… :odd:

Edit: And I've seen the word trimester in this very thread too. Hmm..

Don't trust google translate. Google makes inaccurate translations.

We go by Trimesters here in Oregon for school. Anyway, to introduce myself I'm a Junior in High School, I don't love High School but it's not awful. You do what you gotta do to have a bright future. Been dating my girlfriend for about 2 months now, and that's going well. Honestly, High School is very easy the less you think about it. Just go to school thinking about anything but school, I went to school Friday thinking about what I was gonna do with Alyssa (my girlfriend) on Valentines day (That day lol) and it went great.

High School deff. has it's problems, but just keep a low profile and it goes well. Don't try and act better than everyone, and keep a small circle of friends. Not gonna lie, I made that "Act like your better than everyone" bs in Freshman year, but that's over now. Btw, Middle School thread would be fantastic, in some ways I miss it. Knowing everything you're doing doesn't even really matter is a really good feeling, Middle School is 3 years before HS to 🤬 around haha.

My entire biology class got a bucket of scream today because well under half the class including myself didn't do our chapter vocabulary. First, the teacher never told us when it was due, and second, he never told us when it was due. So a good day got disposed of via the drain very quickly.

So lucky I've got half term holidays now. Saw Limp Bizkit at the weekend and I've still yet to properly recover. My sleeping pattern's screwed and all my limbs ache. Also luckily I got set no work for after we get back... probably because I'm likely to get kicked off two of my courses. Although it doesn't bother me much I'm not planning on doing them next year.

My school was off for president's day today, and I think this is the first time they gave us a f:censored:ing break on this holiday in the almost 10 years that I've been in this school district. I guess the administrators finally understand that presidents day is a national holiday. :( To bad that I have school on Memorial day. Curse you winter blast.

Our holidays are as follows:
  • Christmas break: Dec 22 - Jan 08
  • Easter break: (two weeks, depends on the date of Easter)
  • Summer holidays: Jun 20 - Sep 6

Due to exams being earlier in college, our summer technically starts in May. Although if you go off when your last exam is my holidays start around 14th June this year. :)

Sometimes I wish we had crazy weather here in Greece, because school has never, ever been cancelled due to bad weather here. Well, we did have this one storm when the sky turned yellowish () but no day off.

You do, up until you get a day where school is canceled and the power is out and you're stuck with nothing to do.

You don't want crazy weather. Especially snow. In my area, almost everything closed, you couldn't drive anywhere (You can try, but I'll see you in the list of 200 accidents reported), no friends around and stuck with all of your family members at the same time (which I don't like to deal with), and you have to worry about make-up days (Depending on the state, you may or may not have to make the days up. South Carolina may not have to after passing a bill to allow up to 5 snow days that we don't make up, but depends on the district). It sucked.
Im graduating in 10th grade and starting community College. time goes to fast :c.
How does that work?! I'm still in 10th grade.

Lemme introduce myself, considering I probably never posted on this thread.
Hi. I'm 15, I drive a Lexus, and I'm a big c- not sure if GTPlanet will let me use that word from Top Gear.
Just kidding. Hi, I'm a 15 year old sophomore and I pretty much don't like coming to school like the rest of my peers. I don't particularly feel that actually learn anything, but that's another conversation. If you want to know of other details, I left a bit on my Personal Details. There should be one instant giveaway on my signature if you think about it.

I currently take Music Appreciation 1 (which I dislike considering it doesn't do much for me or my personal life. My class isn't particularly mature and I sit with a group of females), Art 1 (Isn't so bad until the writing prompts we have to do), US History Honors (Best of the list), and Spanish 1 (which is the worst. Try having a somewhat new teacher come straight from South America that came to teach... about a week before it was time for schedules to switch teach you Spanish). My mood tends to change and some days I'm on the verge of a massacre of when I don't want to be bothered (*exaggerated. I'm not that mentally unstable to do such a thing) and it really isn't helped when you're not the type who can handle rejections very well (Got friendzoned by my crush so I haven't talked to or made eye contact with them for... weeks. I'm a serious case) and that circulated back into your mind.

In conclusion, I hate it.

I love how if I go to your profile, it sends me to your "Profile Posts" first. ;)

If you guys didn't know, I'm not actually in high school yet, but I'm just using this thread as a "general school stuff" thread.
