High School

My final lesson was Physics, and we had to do a test in it. I hardly answered any questions... thankfully, we can continue doing it the next time we have Physics.
There was a fire inside the hall today
What happened? Hopefully nobody was hurt.

It was during lunch time so no one was hurt, but we had 2 fire trucks, 2 cop cars and 2 Paramedics

My school yearbook cover design entry. It looks a bit lousy because this photo was taken before the final layer of color was added and it hasn't been smoothed out yet either.

My High School doesn't shove down that much assignments down our throats, though Australia follows a different educational system.

My first year had around 4 Tests for each subject that wasn't Practical. So that would be about 20 Tests in my entire year.

So you need an 85 or more to get into pre calculus and I ended up with and 84.3. Grades round up over .5 so I lost by .2 points. Dissapointing.

Ouch! I feel sorry for you :(

Funny thing. In Year 11 you can't do PE Prac anymore, but I'm actually starting to miss it , Even though no matter what Sport I played, I was the worst out of anyone who tried (in Basketball, all I could do was "Screen" opponents)

Of course I had to incorporate the greatest U.S. racecar (in my opinion), "Old 16" on the cover. Which works out great considering we are the class of 2016. Although I switched the body color to blue and gave it white wall tires in order to incorporate the school colors.

Also if you look closely at the building's clock, you will notice it is set at 1:55 which is when school is over.
That flat out destroys my high school year book's cover

My Junior year is starting very soon, and I'm honestly excited (but I think almost everyone is until the second day of school).

Since freshman year, my "clique" has mostly split up, so this year and the next I'll be able to dedicate more time to my academics.

I say this now but come October I'll start indulging in some heavy procrastination.

I have a 7 min speech for music due on Monday :scared: and it must have at least 14 music examples that 10 seconds long.
I'm doing it on The Veronicas, my subject that I chose was "Rock Music" so I have to play "4ever" on the White Bass in my music room

I've made the annual pilgrimage back to the high school to help out at band camp. Given the circumstances, I'm shocked that the week has been really smooth and hasn't been a massive train wreck.
Did anyone bring a flute?

I just finished the classroom part of Driver's Ed, I am not impressed. (Warning Rant Ahead)

I paid $100 to watch several 90s educational movies teaching me basic driver knowledge and common sense. Then I re read the Ma. Driver's Manual to answer some questions. (I say "re" because I already read it to study for the permit exam) After a week of that I took a test and walked home, since they won't give me a license until I finish the in car part which is an additional $600, having learned nothing I already know.

I guess if I had taken it 2 years ago, it would have been more helpful but at 17, it's completely pointless other than the fact that it is required to get a junior operator's license and insurance benefits.

I know how you feel. Hopefully your Drivers Ed teacher doesn't make you drive for six hours straight in the pouring rain like mine did :indiff:

That must have sucked, we are only allowed to drive for a maximum of 2 hours a day with the instructor. Usually only 1 hour driving and 1 hour observation.

How about my school is forcing any student who wants to get a parking permit to park at our school to take a driver's ed course on our own time and we have to show proof that we've done the course by October...

The course itself is $30 or so- For a parking pass. The years before it, it was $20 full year and $10 half year. This kinda adds injury to insult to those who just took a driver's ed course that is north of $300 or more so they can get a restricted license.
My schedule only has me coming to school all semester round for third and fourth periods only. The first semester, I only have one physical class at school (dual credit one) and a dual credit class at a technical college, so really I hardly will be up there at all.

Grrrr, the school district annoys me...

I only needed to show my driver's license and the car's registration to the administrators and they gave me the parking permit.
