So, Year 12 get their results tomorrow ...
Social-wise or education-wise? (Or both maybe?)High School for me has been no better than middle school
Both, but more on the social side than anything. This one guy today who I had been friends with for a good while just told me to 🤬 off because he had found other friends. Stuff like that has been happening every day, and it's really not helping my depression at allSocial-wise or education-wise? (Or both maybe?)

Yeah well, I have a schedule of classes where the people are opposites of who I want to hang around and who is trustworthy. The only friend that I've had my full trust is someone is in college, so I'm barely in contact with him anymoreSounds like this "friend" of yours wasn't actually a friend. I think it would be good for you to fit in to some group of people. It doesn't have to be a formal group or anything but I'm saying it needs to consist of people who will be there for you.
That's because the states are still using a different curriculum to one another. You can thank Christopher Pyne for that - he pretty much brought the National Curriculum to a grinding halt for no good reason other than it being a Labor idea. Then he turns around and decides to deregulate university fees on the grounds that it gives our universities a chance to compete on the world stage. It's a stupid idea because the National Curriculum could be brought in line with the International Baccalaureate, thereby giving students the chance to get a world-class education; this, in turn, would improve the performance and reputation of our universities. Instead, we get a fractured system from state to state which means universities need to lower entry requirements to accept a wider range of students. The whole system is flooded with full fee-paying international students, many of whom aren't up to the existing standards; look at the University of Sydney, who earlier this year had around 40% of its cohort (from memory) fail an introductory unit.In Victoria, the Year 12's got their results a few days ago.
Glad to hear the person is okay.Someone took a hell of a spill in gym class today. We were playing volleyball and the ball got bumped way off to the side, so a kid ran after it. It bounced off the lip of the opening of a trash can against the wall and came back and hit the kid below the belt as he was jumping to avoid it but he barely left the ground. On top of that the trash can fell and he tripped over the trash can and landed on it stomach first. He actually broke the trash can in two. All you heard was a scream, plastic cracking and a thud. The kid was okay and the teacher, in reference to an injury earlier this month, said "No broken knees this time. We're getting better at this."
Yeah big time. Funny thing about it though, the trash can wasn't broke in such a way that it wasn't completely unusable anymore, and the teacher just left it in its place after the kid put it back on its base. Doesn't mean that he didn't call the office or a janitor though.Glad to hear the person is okay.
I have a couple days left. This is the final week before break for me.So anyone finally gone into holiday?
Help! Help!
I hate Geometry!
CIRCLES!
I'm in AP Calculus.
Trust me, I have calculus. It gets a lot worse.
Next Tuesday is my schools first day of holiday break. So anyone finally gone into holiday?
Summer Holidays has started for me.So anyone finally gone into holiday?
Yeah, High School can change a lot of people. You need to expect that people's personality will change during the transition. Usually done because they want "Grow Up" and/or "Impress people".Yeah well, I have a schedule of classes where the people are opposites of who I want to hang around and who is trustworthy. I did as well. At least compaired to Trig. Rational functions, asymptotes, porabolas, cubics, it's enough to make my head spin! I think part of the reason is I think the teacher doesn't like me. I just have a hunch, dunno why, just seems that way. Might just be his personality, too. He's one of the more serious teachers.Summer Holidays has started for me.
The best part is that I finished all my Holiday assignment before it even started so I have nothing to worry about.

EDIT: I actually find Geometry to be one of the easier Math subjects.
The rest of the bandSchool's annual talent show is on Friday, and I'll be in it with my band for the fourth consecutive year. So hyped. Only thing is, the rest of the band wants to pull a stunt where they light one of the drummers cymbals on fire. Yeah, fire. Not a huge fan of it, and I'm afriad the school won't either. I'm the type of guy that doesn't like to get in trouble, so in the morning beforehand, I'll talk to the teacher who's running it, to let them know what exactly is going on.
Just hope the repercussions aren't horrible...
The rest of the band. No one at my school no matter what project would even think about playing with Fire.
Issue is though, what will your band members think if you shut down the idea by a teacher. Be careful as this can make or break.
Calling it terrorism is a bit over the top, unless if they plan on throwing the Fire Sticks at people hoping to burn them alive.Well, theres really only three of us, so.
I'm gonna talk with one of them tomorrow, as the drummer is more of the...wreckless...one, and tell them just to let someone know about it. That way it's not like, random spontanious fire that someone set.
I'm here to make our set look cool, not commit and act of terrorism.
Geometry was difficult for me because of the laws/proofs you had to remember and prove.I'm in geometry, and I hate it. To be told there's worse is pretty horrifying.
I didn't like Geometry all that well. I missed an A finishing that class by one point.EDIT: I actually find Geometry to be one of the easier Math subjects.
Failed every single thing in that class senior year, so I had to back out to fix my GPA... Terrible idea, if you get a teacher who acts as if the course is still the same from the movie Stand and Deliver..I'm in AP Calculus.
I can vouch for this. At least my teacher makes it bearable with him.
I thought of that song from Burnout Paradise.Failed every single thing in that class senior year, so I had to back out to fix my GPA... Terrible idea, if you get a teacher who acts as if the course is still the same from the movie Stand and Deliver..
Then you should be in good company. No one (no one) made an A in her class from what I heard from other students, and the highest AP test score was a 4 (good thing to keep in mind, my high school was top in our county (academia wise), and top ten in state.).I thought of that song from Burnout Paradise.
Thankfully, my teacher isn't like that... I think.
My teacher had 18 students make 5s on the AP test few years ago (went on a delta from teaching our school and came back this year). I'm in good hands. Then you should be in good company. YES. Those things are the most annoying pieces of...ughhhhhhhhh.Geometry was difficult for me because of the laws/proofs you had to remember and prove.
I hate working with shapes...why can't I just go back to simple numbers and variables? But once you get to Pre-Cal, prepare yourself for a beating. I took Pre-Cal & Trig within my Junior year. It was not easy... not so difficult now that I'm in AP Calc.
Oh boy... if you want to talk about difficult, take Calculus. It throws in every algebra lesson you learned and Trig and tampers your brain to the point of frustration. I'm barely cutting it in my class... and I did well throughout most of my math classes. I would recommend on you taking it though if you're willing to take a challenge. I'm at the point in my class that I can tutor college students taking Calculus 1 and 2... college students. I'm getting a dose of Calc 3 and 4 next semester too, all in high school.
